My Quarantine Kitchen ~ Part 3 ~ Playlist: • My Quarantine Kitchen ...
Love making booch! I’ve had my scoby since 2014 and it’s survived so many moves! Our fave 2nd ferment is ginger-peach. My middle girl would drink 1st ferment from the spigot if I let her 😆 she tried doing that with our ginger bug too... I put a stop to that 😅
Mom, what is that spigot even for then? 🤣 I have not tried ginger peach, yet! Now on my list! 🙌
That’s wonderful how you get your kids involved with the cleaning! Thank you so much for the encouragement from the Bible that you shared, as well. ☺️
I wanted them to learn it was a joy to serve one another, so we started when they were little! ❤
I was number 6 of 7 children and some of my fun memories are when we all cleaned the house together. It felt so good to have it just shining when we were done.
Aw, I love that! Thank you for sharing that. ❤
Getting it done! Way to go... Teamwork!!! Love your kombucha jars.
It's our favorite way to clean! ❤️ Thank you! I have kombucha jars the way some people have ice cream machine liners. 😂😉
love the bubbly joy you shine out too others !
I had a rough few years of depression and one of my prayers was that the Lord would fill me with an overflowing joy. And He did. Now I can't stop sharing it. ❤
Love the blooper. You and your family have the most fun!
We really do have so much fun. 😊
Aghh! Your second ferment jars are amazing!
Thank you! I need all the flavor in my life! 😂
Love your heart, Katie!
🤗
Katie you are so inspiring! Thank you for showing your scobi, I need to try making my own Kombucha. It still scares me. Lol. And thank you for the scriptures and reason to have hope and not fear. Loved watching your family clean the kitchen:) Now to get my kids to think cleaning is cool.
Do it! Out of all my ferments, kombucha is the one that I have not been able to kill. 😂 Team cleans are the times that we have the most dance parties, sing-a-longs, great conversations, and laughter. Totally cool. 😉😊
That was such a fun video Katie! You've encouraged me to dig my scoby's out of their scoby hotel. I haven't made a batch in forever!
Yes, they have slept long enough! 😉 Now that I know I can make a sourdough with kombucha - thank you! - I will be using my booch for that, as well! 🙌
Ahhh! Yoi are the kombucha Queen! Look at your set up!! I’m gonna be coming to you for questions! I have done my “tasting” a couple days ago and thought it was a little sweet yet. So waiting a little longer. :)
I do love kombucha. It has become an art form and a grand science experiment! 😊 Yes, I like my kombucha more tart, but not tooooo tart. Can't wait to hear more about you kombucha adventure!
Awesome!!!! :)
my kids' coop is called 10:10 after this verse
What a great idea. Thankful for His life-giving Word. ❤
Is you're kambucha jar in the cabinet 3 gallons? If not what are the sizes of all your jars? Thanks for sharing.
I have two one-gallon and a half jars in my cabinet for my first ferment and then the three one-gallon for my second ferments. 😊
Thank you. You have a cool set up! How much juice do you put into the second ferment. (Im taking notes to do the same thing) 😊
Thanks! Oh, I am terrible about measuring things. I would say 1/2 to 3/4 cup. Depends on the juice and how strong I want the flavor.
As soon as I press record it seems like my children are the loudest. LOL
Right? Why? 😂 It makes for a bit of fun - real life stuff. 😊❤️
And, um, I spy laminated checklists ...
After I watched your video - don't look at them! 😂 I am a planner especially when it comes to meals, but our whole family plans together and my kids use them to lay out the week's meals.
@@TheIronHeartMama Hey, I have a binder full of laminated checklists! ;). As long as we use these things as tools to serve us and our family and we don't end up serving the tools just to get them done, they are beneficial!
I totally agree! 😊 I had to learn all that the hard way - hours of planning and I missed out on some of the living I could have done. I still have to tell all my planners and schedules they don't own me from time to time. 🙌😂
