Thank you for a lovely video exploring the deck, and you did great with the pronunciations! I literally laughed out loud at "Mother of Ale"! 😂 As for the spelling with a 'k' for Kerberos and Kirke, it is nearer to the Ancient Greek as they didny have a soft 'c'; it is the Latin transliteration that makes them Cerberus and Circe. 😊 Whilst the deck was created by me, a devotee of Hekate of fifteen years, the artist Chris had no such connection going into the project and as such has still found that the deck works beautifully (and directly) in more general oracle reading terms, as you mentioned. If you'd like to learn more about the deck's creation and the cards, there is an indepth video series of Chris's channel, Sacred Tarot. I am also writing an expanded and detailed companion book.🌙🗝🔥
Hi and thank you so much for watching and your kind words, I am,pleased my pronunciations weren’t completely off 😆 I know Mother of Ale, I am so unprofessional lol. Thank your for the information about Kerberos Kirke, I thought it might be that it was how the ancient Greek’s would have written it. I am very much looking forward to working with the deck, you and Chris did a great job and that’s fantastic news about an expanded guide book 🥰
Had a wee chuckle at "Mother of Ale" 🍺My kind of Goddess! 😂. I quite like that deck! Thought it tied in well with the mythology and attributes of Hekate. A few years ago, I read a book about her; "Hekate Soteira: A Study of Hekate's Roles in the Chaldean Oracles and Related Literature", by Sarah Iles Johnston. It was a little bit "academic" (or accurate!) but fairly short and readable. An interesting Goddess for sure. Thanks for the review!
That would be something wouldn’t it? Mother of Ale 🤣 that book sounds really interesting, I might have to see if I can find it I always like to read about different Goddesses. Thank you for watching 🥰
@@SpiritofAvalon The book was the best I could find. I researched a few. Many books about Hekate seem quite subjective, based on intuition, or project modern issues or stereotypes onto her. I added the deck to my wishlist... for when I get out of financial purgatory :)
