I absolutely loved listening to this. The older the craft the more I think its magick is deep, rich, thick and oozy, full of deliciousness. I agree with everything you said. The Sabbats for me are absolutely steeped in folkcraft and Gerald Gardner brought them all together, as you said they would have been called different things in different areas. I wonder how different the craft would be practiced without him bringing it into the modern era. I practice the Old craft and Im not Wiccan, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't take on bits of wicca - good practice is good practice. Btw I loooove your tshirt! Im sooo glad you put this up. You and I are sooo alike. My practice from the outside would look boring and non spell related or even ritual based, but it is the intent when you are stirring your soup or when i go out and stand barefoot on the grass meeting the Sunrise {thats my kind of ritual). There are sooo many names for witches but I am earth based and I think and I hope that all practice is focused on honouring the Earth and all the beings that reside in our planet. For me everything comes from the whole universe and the energy through the earth. blessed be my little friend xxx

Like I said to you, everything starts somewhere, even language is made up!
Gate keepers will gate keep, so pay it no mind. (I’ll stop there, as I don’t want you deleting me 😜)
Everyone does ritual in some way, we have ritualistic tendencies 😂The wheel of the year is evident, nature is cyclical, and the sabbats indicate those changes and when to sow and when to reap etc.
    wonderful commentary! ❤

I enjoyed this video Sandra. I was extremely lucky to have two teachers at primary school who were openly pagan. They introduced us to so much (this was in the late sixties early 70s). My great grandmother lived in London’s East End and was the ‘go to’ person for all sorts of problems and ailments and certainly practiced folk magic and was often paid in gold jewellery from more ‘well to do’ people😂 As for ritual almost everybody does it! Birthdays, anniversaries religious holidays, even people who do the same things same time every week. I think it’s in our nature to be ritualistic. We all live in cycles.
I am working with Brigid for a year (last November from my birthday until my next birthday) and it’s been very healing❤

Great video Sandra ! 100% agree with everything you said ! Well said and your are perfectly articulate 🤗🤗 and spoke truth as much of us just have that deep knowing. There are so many in the fast paced world that don't take the time to listen and feel the Earth's rhythms. My Grandmother was a healer and i follow in her footsteps. I do pretty good with the little things like coughs and colds ,bruises and ear infections etc. Finding it is taking longer to heal myself as i get older but still do a pretty good job. I have a friend that once said '" you can't heal yourself , you must go to a doctor " I think she was giving me an ulcer with all the negativity as i am also an Empath as many of us here are. I tend to soak up those psychic vampiric words. So i must step back from them until they understand where i am coming from. I use as many herbs, flowers, fruits , salves and tinctures as possible but it mostly comes down to intent, Thank you so much for doing this video. I think it was a well needed video. Great job ! Thank you for this, I always love hearing about the practice of genuine practitioners even though I don't call myself a witch. From a witch's point of view that would be a lost opportunity as apparently one of my ancestors was taken to court for being a "magician" a few hundred years ago! I was taught by my Buddhist teacher lama that it's very disrespectful to ridicule people who have a different belief to you because after all THEIR "pure motivation" might be much better than yours ;-) That really resonated for me and I always feel quite upset for people - no matter how "out there" their beliefs might seem to me - if someone else ridicules them. I do believe in the wheel of the year - to me it totally makes sense because back in the day people needed to be in touch with the changes in the seasons as that's how they got their food and planned for when food wasn't around. I'm just not convinced the points on the wheel would have been *spiritual* events for our ancestors. I have an open mind on that. I so wish people like you would run in person classes/workshops, like perhaps how to build a spell jar ;-) I can imagine you healing people as even your voice is so healing - with high anxiety this morning it helps me a lot💖💖💖

Mentioning Mabon, though that term is new technically the autumn equinox would be imo a celebrated times in years gone by. So the equinoxes and solstices are easily attributable to older times. Sometimes it’s harder with the others but like Samhain is my favourite sabbat and I’m not a Wiccan witch. I think I have adapted things to fit my own way of doing things 😅 I’m not very good at following anything other than the changes of the seasons. This is why my video making is sporadic (as well as some health issues). Cernunnos is a great energy I don’t feel him around me so much now. But in the autumn (which is approaching fast) and the spring I’ve felt closest to him. I hate the sniggering people 😪 one of my friends considers witchcraft a placebo and I just gave up on trying to explain it’s so much more than self fulling prophecy. I’ve done many spells for friends (usually protective or self love) and some for myself that have all been effective. Intention and belief is important. It can take a lot. Just like you not everything I’ve done has worked but it doesn’t stop me doing things 🙂 I used to do some spur of the moment things but I tend to plan more now. Sorry if my response is long 🤦🏻‍♀️ I love this video!
I worship/work with deities but I don’t talk about it so much because again sniggering. People don’t get the woo woo and that’s fine but I feel it. And totally with the trees 🌲 I love to touch trees, not that I get out so much now but trees have amazing energy.

Thank you for sharing Sandra. I sometimes think that people say things like this just to be controversial or to feel like they have a new take on something, when actually the truth is as you say they probably aren't getting the results if they don't take their work seriously, and how reliable and credible are they if they themselves take their experiences so lightly, so as almost to be invalidating. It's definitely important to be cautious and discerning always, but the practice and craft deserves and demands respect for sure. 🙏

I can't help but wonder who it was that was publishing ritual and poo-pooing it at the same time. Seems like that's not helpful, along with being disrespectful. I just watched Soot & Salt's latest video, where she is talking about a public reading she did, and was also really disrespected. I am impressed by how gently you put this, even though it obviously really bothered you. It is a testament to your security in your practice.
