- I found an old video tape of some work I did.
Here is Boyz II Men singing "Yesterday" by the Beatles live at the first Blockbuster Entertainment Awards Show that aired 06/05/1995. Still imagery on 8 of the 12 screens designed, programmed and projected by Kyle Tanner.
All rights reserved by the song writers, performing artists and producer of the show Ken Ehrlich Productions.
No autotune or pitch correction mics. Just raw, beautiful talent.
I was completely shocked seeing them for the first time in concert, they're the real deal.
I was a white kid in the suburbs of STL in ‘95 and my parents had ever B2M tape that I’d borrow all the time. Literally grew up on these 4 guys’ voices. Miss when real music like this was popular
The way nate is on high and low parts is still amazing
quality hi baratone,, how one should be very good range and quality for sure
Michael is missed. His bass is just sth else... to me, they are the BEST boyband of all time🔥🔥🔥🔥
The fact this they can pull that off LIVE on TV (which always makes people sound off) is just BONKERS!
This is the real Boyz II Men. ALL 4 OF THEM.
❤❤❤❤
That bass 😳
I'm telling you...❤
Booming bass Mike,Nate is cool on bass but Mike's voice booming
Right... 2019 still listening
🔥 🔥 🔥
@@stl_scrappy9934 mike is 2 to 3 octaves lower than nate can ever get :) just saying,, songs without him on later albums are ok but lack that bass drop that only mike can provide
Boyz ii men mix the quartet class of the 60’s and 70’s with 90’s r&b. Favorite combination.
Hi Everyone ... my SINCERE appologies. I created this channel years ago and lost the sign in info. I found it today and saw over 350 comments. I'm so happy you all loved this post!
+Kyle Tanner Thanks for uploading! This is soul music..
Thank you and you’re soul for this video😭🙏🏼❤️
I've always loved how they switched parts at random in the harmonies...this is probably why they are SO amazing. This is probably the best I've heard them do this song live. Wanya...that lil' dude was so underrated, and still is today. AWESOME job.
That Wanya... he was always a beast in every song. Love this group
I always judge the greatness of a vocal group on their ability to switch parts in the harmony and still sound the same or just as amazing. Boyz 2 Men, En Vogue, The Braxtons, and The Clark Sisters are some of the best at doing that.
Agreed tennisstar2011
+tennisstar2011 Absolutely! Especially when singing acapella. Xscape, For Real, 112, Take 6, and Jagged Edge (sometimes) are a few more examples! Nothing worse than hearing two-part harmony when there's more than two people singing background!
+Jamaal A. Bivens yes!! (I kinda side eyed you on Jagged Edge lol) but all those groups could sing in more than 3 part harmony as well which I love. First time I heard The Braxtons sing 5 part and The Clarks sing 4 I almost threw my phone.
They can't do it like this anymore without mike on that bass line. They are only complete when mike is there.
Agreed
keeturbo You right and Mike isn't complete without them
That's the story of harmony working
U sleep bruh Nathan the bass now. It stills sound the same.
Splak 305 not all the time , of course he can sing bass too but Mikes is more powerful ,clearer and crispier than Nates
You know that Nathan used to produce all that bass sections himself and Mike just mimicked them!
Hearing them sing this rendition always brings tears to my eyes. Their harmonies are always on point.
very good rendition of a song that the Beatles made in the late 60s
The tightest harmony in boy band history
That bass completed them. They just don't sound the same anymore.
AGREED
Nate Tries but his Baratone Voice drops cant match a True Bass's drops
@@johnniec2861 EXACTLY
They sound great !!
The bass is amazing.
So true. Michael McCary.
The bass is key for live acapella....
B2M havent been the same without Mike...
You probably dont give a damn but does anyone know a way to get back into an instagram account..?
I somehow lost my account password. I would love any assistance you can offer me
@Jamal Emmett Instablaster :)
Sure is. Makes me wish they could've remained a quartet😔
I'm all about that bass. They need to bring Mike back
Shanty Nathalia I feel the same, I liked them because of their rare unique bass voice 💘
its not that they need to bring him back, its that mike has to want to be back. Nathan said he left at random times and sometimes he wouldn't even show up for rehearsal....that's why some tracks don't have mike as the bass. Shawn said that there will always be an open door for him but its all up to mike to make his mind up and stop disappearing long enough so they can make some magic again
Mike publicly announced his retirement due to issues with scoliosis. The guys chose not to replace him, but they're better as a quartet.
katyas mom Mike has MS
🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Nate’s vocals are so underrrated in this song.
I thought I was the only one that understood how complex his note was in the harmony
Nate’s vocals are always underestimated!
Its hard to balance the mics when live
Big Mike is the most unique bass singer of all times.
Mike is dope...check out Barry white...may change your perspective
Melvin from the temptations too but you need to hear some of the southern gospel mega basses from the 80s . It will change your whole idea of bass😊singers 😊
Next to Melvin Franklin of The Temptations🌝
Joe Thompson, Issac Freeman London Paris, Rodney Britt, Avi Kaplan, George Younce check any of them out.
@@godschozen1000 agreed by you forgot the Real southern Bass Tim Riley and Jd Sumner in the 70s/80s , Tim Storms now ,,
Michael was holding that Bass DOWN....
Boys 2 men had the best harmonies THEY HAVE SUCH STUNNING AND HEAVENLY VOCALS😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️
The BEST bass man EVER. I wish he never hurt his back or whatever it is that happened. They are good without him but they are PHENOMENAL WITH him.
mike is one of the best to me Melvin franklin who was the bass for the temps is the best then mike and my third fav is the bass from the group called pentatonix his name is avi check them out
Melvin Franklin from the Tempts and Willie Ford from the Dramatics are the best!
Mad Ry Mike has MS
Nate has low range like Mike. However, Mike's tone and vocal color is was also what made him Michael "Bass" McCarry. Boys ll Men, the legends!
no way ,, Nate is a baritone, Mike is a Bass , Mike could easily go and octave or 2 lower than Nate
The best bass voice in the history . I say Best!
better than Melvin Williams of the temptations . ..nah
Pretty.Red. Thang Melvin Franklin
William Teague thanks I caught it long time ago lol
love Mike but he really can't mess with Melvin "blue" Franklin..........at all
hmmmm....may wanna check out this guy name Barry White. Mike is good tho
Nate bass can never out do Mike bass, Mike voice was everything 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Because nate is a baritone not a bass and mike can drop another 2 octaves lower than that
@@johnniec2861facts 💯💯💯
Michael mccary the bass is amazing ,incredible, is the master.
Their harmony is out of this world. You make the ugly face when you hear this it's so good
The harmony is crazy!! My favorite group of all time!!
Consider that they are live, ya'll. Don't forget that.
Makes you appreciate how great music was when I was growing up. Not like the twerking sess pool the music industry has turned into.
amazing bass! that dude is the best!
I still break out and sweat every time I hear that bass....Mike...phew! 🌡️🏨
i like when they bow 90 degree after every singing, it showed they appreciate the audience and i can see they bow with sincerely..
Damn still gives me chills in 2021
That bass
Literally phuck EVERYONE in that audience for not jumping to thier feet after that!!! Smh this sounded just as good IF NOT BETTER live than it did on the album. They were unrealA
I miss mike his bass so amazing.
FIRE
legend of legend
One of my all time fave cover of The Beatles - Yesterday. It made me cried when I first listened to it 20yrs ago & it still make me cry today >w
When talking about good music & supernatural talent! Definitely this song touches your heart ❤️ & mind Boyz 2 Men one of the most best group of all time, they killed it
Just to think, these guys were not even born when the artists pictured behind them were big!! It's nice to leave a legacy where the unborn will honor you in years to come.
Please!! Mike come back 😭😭
For a VHS recording ,, the Quality is quite good,, All the people complaining about the quality are definitely youngsters spoiled by the Digital age, and dont understand the differences
im not complaining im a 70s kid so i know all about vhs and tapes LOL
More close that a human person can get sing like a angel 👼🏾 ❤️
Fully agree, some humans are so talented and are given opportunity to showcase it in their lifetime
Just Goosebumps.❤
Amazing group - really miss mike bass - god bless him- he really rounded their sound and allowed them all to soar
My favorite band of all time :)
Rest peacefully Nemo my furry best friend and constant companion for the last 15and a half years. Words can’t express my grief and pain I carry every day...I love you forever Pal and I’ll see you in the next life 😞😞😞🐶💔💔💔
These men are so handsome... I have to meet them one day in person 😍😍😍
Cadie Sonnier not to me
it's lovely meeting them
that base part is so sick
Mike needs a place of his own his voice is strong that lackin in real
Nate's countermelodies are underappreciated! So good.
omg i use to have this on VHS too..and i lost it..so ty for posting it
I WANT THE GROUP TO REUNITE!
good luck
They’re still a group they just don’t have Mike anymore
Wanya MURDERED IT at the end
Mike sounds unreal, I keep replaying just to hear him.
that bass😍
These guys...All talent no bs. Loved them since day 1.
Grew up listening to them .... ❤
thanks for the upload!
Wow... I never knew that this was a cover for the Beatles. But I remember listening to this song for the first time when I was 15. Man this song used to have me n tears. That was 13 years ago. And its still one of my favorites. Love Phillys own Boys2Men. Forever and always
yes the beatles Made this back in the 60s
@@johnniec2861 Yup learned his fact 5 years ago. Thanks :D
Their harmony is spot on.
Wanya and Mike smiles 😍
Wow. Just wow!!!
The bass did all the work.
Indeed
He's so dope!
Saw them when they performed with MC Hammer & Jodeci, way back 100 years ago… When they did this song, they turned up all the lights of the massive stadium (where the Fighting Illini play b-ball) & had folks singing along. It was AMAZING 🥹
Soooo beautiful now that's real saaaaannnnggggingg!!!!
Love you Mike
Beautiful.
Extraordinary performance
Mike on that bass though... he needs to come back
2021 lol. These voices are unforgettable.
So sad the bassman retired.
Yeah, he is the best bass singer i have ever heard.
+Mr. Jess I totally agree
+jfirevox.. Good music is really universal.. :-)
papadani he did not retire sadly he was suffering with MS
you must be young then and didnt enjoy the sounds of the 70s,, some of the best R & B Bass singers were in those groups
This song is next to "My Way" as the most covered song in music. Can you imagine if they and Blackstreet were on The Kennedy Center Honors awarding Paul McCartney and Blackstreet sang Cant't Buy Me Love. That would be so amazing. Also showing Pictures Of The Groups whose shoulders they know they are riding on was very beautiful. Sadly many of them lost members since this performance. 😢
Omg!!!! LEGENDSSSS!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥 I watched them LIVE for the ONLY First time and I have LIVED! 💖💖💖
MAGIC!!!
that base part just like a cow wow wow its just very sick yoh
Yo I love that bass
Mike...sing it baby 💕
Perfectionist
I was at the tender age of 5 madly in love with Wanya
Girl yes!! I always say I can understand how Brandy felt because I loved him downnnn as a baby 😍😍😂😭
I get emotional every time.
These legends done this song with no in ears🤯🤭😵
Una Cosa Maravillosa. Espectáculo de Voces. Congratulacion.
excellent bass, faithful admirer of these gentlemen belonged to a polyphonic quintet just under, and compare me with mike q pena q going through this disease of the column, I adore the polyphony greetings
С 1991 года слушаю эту группу, в 2012 была на их концерте в Крокусе, в Москве! Это было сууупер!!!))
Purely Perfect - Purely Awesome!!!
Complete once more!
Dang, I love these guys!
Wow my friends it doesnt get better than that...i mean its sad to say but theae times are gone
wow!!!!
Not Gods, merely men with voices of angels. And Mike is with his angel family, RIP. Every boy band before (looking at you, Beatles) and since (Nsync, Backstreet Boys, even more recent groups like Pentatonix) owe a debt of gratitude to Boyz II Men for perfecting the art of a capella and bringing it to the mainstream and the international stage... _with their voices alone_
Pls Mike's not dead
My all-time favorite boy band.
Oh my God. Nice trip down memory lane.
Bro they sound so different and complete with their bass. Too bad he has MS and had to leave the group 😭
I believe is money issues
This Song doesnt song right without the bass man. He should come back
best group ever
Dam Michael that tone
I love this song
Love ❤️ life
That damn mike❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👀
Those outfits back in the day though lololol
they are so good
One thing is Marc Nelson , who never gets enough credit , He and Nate Originally founded the Group back in HS,, he only stayed on the first yr and went on to other things, before the Records came out, He eventually formed the Group Az Yet, who was pretty good in their own right ,, if he wouldve stayed , Boyz II men wouldve been a 5 man group
agreed , they have a nice group as well ,
Love this song
