The secret is sifting your flour. Unsifted flour seems to make course grainy cookies. No sifter? You a fine mesh filter ladle or or fine mesh colander. Anything with a fine mesh.
Cake flour!!!!
Written recipe:
- Step 1: In a bowl, combine 1/2 cup or 8 tbsp unsalted softened butter (equivalent to one stick of butter), 1/2 cup packed dark or light brown sugar, and 1/4 cup granulated sugar. Mix to combine.
- Note 1: You can use an electrical mixer or mix manually by using a spatula.
- Note 2: The butter should be softened enough so that it mixes together with the sugars. I usually leave my butter outside of the refrigerator for 1-2 hours so it becomes softened and it's room temperature.
- Step 2: Once the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar are mixed and combined, add and mix in one large egg and 1 tsp vanilla extract.
-Step 3: In a separate bowl, sift and mix together 1 and 1/4 cup all purpose flour, 1/2 tsp baking powder (you can use 1/2 tsp baking soda as substitute if you don't have baking powder), and 1/4 tsp salt.
- Step 4: Add the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, and salt) to the first bowl with the butter and sugar, etc. and mix together.
- Note 3: You can also use the original bowl with the butter and sugar to mix in the dry ingredients; whichever you prefer.
- Step 5: Once all the ingredients are mixed, add and mix in 1 cup of milk chocolate chips (you can also use semi-sweet chocolate chips).
- Step 6: Once combined, roll 2-3 tbps each (depending on how large you like your cookies) of cookie dough into balls.
- Step 7: Get your baking tray and add parchment paper on top. Place the cookie balls evenly spaced on your cooking sheets. Alternatively, you can use an ice cream scoop to make your cookies.
- Step 8: Bake cookies in preheated oven for approximately 12 minutes (or 8-11 minutes for softer cookies). Let the cookies sit on the baking pan for 2 minutes before placing them on a cooling rack.
Note: No need to refrigerate these cookies. This recipe will make about 10-15 regular sized cookies. Enjoy!

1/2 cup softened unsalted butter (equivalent to 8 tbsp or 1 STICK of butter)
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 & 1/4 cup all purpose flour

Thank you so much for sharing your recipe, the cookies look “Absolutely Delicious “!!! 😋😋😋
Sorry, to bother you, but if I wanted to make them twice the size, would I add another 11 minutes to the baking time? I greatly appreciate your feedback. 🤗
@@patriciamagnon6301No, you would bake them for the same amount of time. 🙂
@@patriciamagnon6301 If you wanted to make them twice the size, at step 6, roll 4-5 tbps each of cookie dough into balls instead of 3-4 tbsp, but still bake them for the same amount of time. 350*F for 11-12 minutes.

@@yhensichon5711 you can replace baking powder with baking soda too. It just won't expand as much and will be flatter, which is still okay too. Just depends on your preference! :)

Omg the best chocolate chip cookie I have ever haf
Yay! I'm so glad! Thank you!
Every time I make cookies, they always come out dry. Atp I've just given up.
I'm sorry to hear that. So I looked into some reasons why cookies are turning out dry and here's the results I got.
-The oven is too hot, or they were overbaked
-Adding too few eggs can result in dry, crumbly cookies. Beat each one in separately and thoroughly. If you run out of eggs while baking and find that you need more, you can add 1/4 cup vegetable oil for each egg required.
-Baking cookies quickly in a hot oven - at 375 degrees F as opposed to a lower temperature - will make for soft results.
Maybe you can try cooking them for 8-10 minutes only? Here's another cookie recipe without brown sugar if you want to try! They always come out soft and moist!

Use Grams please
Hello! I just converted to grams using the metric system, please remember to double check your measurements. Here you go!
1 stick of unsalted softened butter (113.4 grams) - equivalent to 8 tbsp of butter
1/2 cup packed light or dark brown sugar (100 grams)
1/4 cup granulated sugar (50 grams)
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract (5 ml)
1/4 tsp salt (1.25 grams)
1/2 tsp baking powder or baking soda (2.5 grams)
1 & 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (155 grams)
1 cup milk chocolate chips to mix in the batter (about 175 grams)
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips to decorate on top (87.5 grams)
Bake at 350*F for 10-12 minutes.

Enjoy!

Why is there so much mixing? Light brown sugar? Good grief, no wonder they look so crumbly.
Thank you for the feedback!
@@aleedays I always use dark brown sugar it makes for a more moist cookie. Also add all the dry to all the wet at once, mix until combined then stop mixing. Your cookies should be soft and chewy. :)
