The most surprising thing about these encounters is realizing just how much modern Mormons disagree with their own church fathers and official doctrine.
Excellent observation, it's amazing that for young or convert Mormons, in order to witness to them you must first teach them Mormon theology, because they don't even understand what their past church authorities have taught
@corybritton1966 ; True ... But unfortunately, the evangelical Christians here are also guilty of the same ignorance of their own history too. For instance, at around the 8:25 mark he accuses Jehovah’s Witnesses of claiming Christ is the Archangel Michael. Yet that belief was admitted and taught by the Protestant churches' scholars and theologians long before modern day JWs. .... For instance. ... The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia; “The earlier Protestant scholars usually identified Michael with the preincarnate Christ, finding support for their view, not only in the juxtaposition of the “child” and the archangel in Rev. 12, but also in the attributes ascribed to him in Daniel” - vol. 3, p. 2048, Eerdmans Publishing, 1984 printing. Even Protestant Reformer John Calvin said regarding "Michael" in its occurrence at Daniel 12:1: "I embrace the opinion of those who refer this to the person of Christ, because it suits the subject best to represent him as standing forward for the defense of his elect people." - J. Calvin, Commentaries On The Book Of The Prophet Daniel, trans. T. Myers (Grand Rapids: Baker Book House, 1979), vol. 2 p. 369. Or John Gill's, -- A Body of Doctrinal Divinity, Book 7 Chapter 5: "Another prophecy in Daniel 12:1-3 respects the second and personal coming of Christ; for he is meant by Michael, who is "as God", as his name signifies, equal to him; the ‘great prince,’ the prince of the kings of the earth, and the head of all principalities and powers" etc. How does the classic old saying go about those who live in glass houses? ...

That shows the difference between members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and sectarian Christians. Sectarians believe they are here to judge their fellow beings. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints believe that all judgment is given to the Son, and we are not here to judge our fellow beings.

I'm living with Mormon family currently while trying to get money together to move 600 miles away and I've been with them for several months but I've gone to their church off and on since the end of 2020. For a long time, prior to these Apologia videos really, my perspective was: Well, even if the religion isn't true (which I've never felt it was, beyond what New Testament reveals), at least I'm getting closer to Christ and staying focused on the Word by going to the church and some church functions. But these videos have helped me see how truly blasphemous and idolatrous the LDS faith is. Many times, they've asserted that I don't believe in God, despite my passionate disputation each time they've said such a thing. I've repeatedly said, "I believe in God, I have full faith in Christ, I just don't know that your prophet and book is true." But from now forward, I will reply that I just don't believe in their god. And I assume it should spark debate and inquiry. I have learned much about their beliefs and have read about half the Book of Mormon. So I've gotten the majority of the blueprints to their castle. I've infiltrated it. And these videos have armed me with the proper equipment to rescue all whom God has ordained to be saved, all to the glory of the one and true living God: the Son, the Father, and the Holy Spirit. ❤

This is heartbreaking to watch. I can see how close she is to finding the true Jesus. I can hear the pain in her voice when she's told she's on the path to hell. I hear the pain in your voices, pleading for her soul to join the fold. It's absolutely heartbreaking. I wish I could hug her, sit her down, & have a long discussion with her myself. I wish there was an update on her & her faith. All I can do is pray. Pray for her, pray for our LDS friends, & pray for others across the world to have their eyes, minds, & hearts open to our Savior.
They don’t know their religion because it is hidden from them, it is constantly being rebranded, it is very unclear, and they are taught not to think or ask questions. The main emphasis is the “truthfulness” of the church no matter what contradictory things its leaders do or say from one moment to the next.
I’ve watched a lot of street evangelism videos posted by Apologia, and I have to say, this was by far the best one. I plan on moving to Provo later this year and will be watching this encounter with Julia on repeat since I also help Mormons find a better hope in Christ alone communicated in a bold way.. As a (post-Mormon) Christian, I pray that she hears and follows through on what you guys shared and finds those answers in Biblical text. I thank God everyday for His righteousness.
Ray Comfort is right, if you tell people they are going to hell without taking them through the law they will be offended. I'm always tempted to start with differences of doctrine, but it goes much better when I get them to admit their sin, then admit they are guilty and then admit they are going to hell. The law applied to the conscience then the gospel is powerful Gal. 3:24, Rom. 1:16.
I just want to take a minute and thank you for all of the good work you guys on this channel are doing. THE TRUTH will always be attacked. THE TRUTH will always be hated. It's been this way since the beginning of time, and it will continue to the end of time. You guys are one of the greatest missionary forces we have right now. Your very attacks on the Prophet JosephSmith, the Book of mormon, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are actually fulfilling prophecy and scripture. Jesus taught in the new Testament how to know a true prophet; Luke 6: 22-23, 26. Please read it for yourself. Jesus said if a prophet is hated and attacked , this testifies that he speaks the truth and is a true prophet. Christ even said, "we should, "leap for joy, " because the very attacks on truth confirms its very truthfulness. So, please, please, please continue to make more and more videos about our faith because the more you hate and attack, the more it testifies the truth. I would be very worried if there was never opposition to the prophet Joseph Smith, but that is not the case. There are multiple multiple youtube channels ( mormon Stories, utah apologia, mormon Discussion, apologia, etc.)dedicated and organized for the very purpose of destroying Joseph smith and the LDS church. All of these anti mormon attacks do one thing for me, they make me "LEAP FOR JOY, " AND THEY ACTAUALLY BUILD UP MY TESTIMONY, and not destroy it. Please keep up the great work because the more you attack my faith, the more it convinces me and testifies to me that it's true. Thank you, and god bless in all the great work you do
Yay, I just found this channel. I love seeing videos evangelizing Mormons. I've probably learned more from Apologia about Mormonism than I knew as a Mormon. Thanks so much for these videos. Praying for Julia.
It's sad how Christians care more about official LDS doctrine than a vast majority of Mormons. They attempt to portray vigilant Christians as nothing more than "crazy, obsessed, perpetual doubters." Glad the Lord saved you, Taylor.

LDS Apostle Erastus Snow preached the following on Sunday, October 4, 1857: Do the women, when they pray, remember their husbands? . . . Do you uphold your husband before God as your lord? “What!-my husband to be my lord?” I ask, Can you get into the celestial kingdom without him? Have any of you been there? You will remember that you never got into the celestial kingdom [during the temple ceremony] without the aid of your husband. If you did, it was because your husband was away, and some one had to act proxy for him. No woman will get into the celestial kingdom, except her husband receives her, if she is worthy to have a husband; and if not, somebody will receive her as a servant. When she said "I want to be comfortable in His presence" is actually very telling. She thinks a sinner who didn't "try everything they could do" will be uncomfortable because they are not like Jesus and this is where Mormons reveal that they have boasting in their works. Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men-extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ 13 And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be [d]humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

FORMAL DEBATE # 8 [Part 1 of 2] (Mormon Series): ALAN HIGHT (Born-again Christian) Vs. LINDA (Latter-day Saint) Welcome Ladies and Gentleman! My opponent and I have come together to prove/debunk ONE of the 30 heresies of the LDS Church. Linda has selected a numbered topic at random. The topic that was chosen: # 29: MORMON FAITH + WORKS VIOLATES SCRIPTURE I will first provide my Opening Statement (unlimited words) before my opponent counters with a rebuttal (unlimited words.) The comments will teeter back and forth until one doctrinal belief overwhelms the other as either proven true or false. The debate comments will be limited to ONE concise reply apiece (100 words max.) The debates usually last three days, but it could go on for weeks. Stay Tuned! OPENING STATEMENT (ALAN): Although Mormons profess to be Christians and say they believe the Word of God, there are many of their beliefs that contradict Christianity. In fact, Mormonism can be referred to as a cult, which can be defined as “a religious group that denies one or more of the fundamentals of biblical truth.” Mormons say they are Christians, but because they reject foundational truths from God’s Word, they are not. There are 30 such doctrines that violate Christianity, and I will discuss one in particular: the doctrine of Faith + Works The faith vs. works debate often comes up in discussions of salvation. There are many who say that a person is saved based on some mixture of faith and works. Biblical Christianity teaches salvation by faith in Jesus Christ, apart from any works we do. Perhaps the best place to start is to clearly define faith and works: What is faith? Hebrews 11:1 sets out the definition: “Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Faith is that which assures us that our hope is reality, even though we cannot yet see it. If we have faith, we are convinced that what we believe is real, true, and reliable. The biblical object of faith is the person and work of Jesus Christ. True faith has always been the identifying mark of the people of God. What are works? Works are a person’s actions or deeds. Work is that which we perform for some kind of reward. We work at our jobs and expect to receive a paycheck for it. Even working on a voluntary basis has its own reward-praise from others, a feeling of good will, etc. In the context of salvation, works refers to good deeds we do, especially religious or charitable acts or the observance of the Old Testament law. In the faith vs. works debate, the two sides maintain that either we are saved by faith (and faith alone), or we are saved by works (or, more commonly, works added to faith). Which side is correct? What is the biblical relationship between faith and works? • Works are required for salvation-but Scripture is clear that those works are Christ’s, not ours. Jesus fulfilled the law (Matthew 5:17). In fact, “the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith” (Galatians 3:24). Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross reconciled us to God (Romans 5:10), and as He died, Jesus proclaimed that the work was finished (John 19:30). Now we are invited to enter into God’s rest by faith: “Anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works” (Hebrews 4:10). • Our works do nothing to earn or maintain salvation. It was the once-for-all sacrifice of Christ that justifies sinners (Romans 3:24). “Know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, . . . because by the works of the law no one will be justified” (Galatians 2:16). We begin by faith, and we continue in faith: “Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard? Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?” (Galatians 3:2-3). • Salvation is by grace, which precludes works. Grace is, by definition, unearned, and Scripture makes it clear that God’s grace in salvation destroys the argument for human effort: “If by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace” (Romans 11:6). “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). • God’s requirement for salvation is faith in His Son. One of the grand themes of the Bible is that we are justified, or declared righteous, by faith (Genesis 15:6). Faith is the only means of making sinful human beings able to stand before a holy God. No amount of law-keeping or good works can accomplish it (Titus 3:5). If our works could save us, then Christ died for nothing (Galatians 2:21). • Works are the product of faith. Those who have true faith in Jesus Christ will be “eager to do what is good” (Titus 2:14). John the Baptist called for “fruit in keeping with repentance” (Matthew 3:8). The book of James emphasizes the nature of true saving faith as that which results in good works: “Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead” and “As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead” (James 2:17, 26). Grace through faith saves, and that faith is manifest in works. If someone claims to have faith yet exhibits no good works, his or her faith is “dead,” or nonexistent.

She is the one that asked you all if you think she is going to hell. You all didn’t bring that up. She did then gets turned off because you gave an honest biblical answer. You all would not be out there if you didn’t realize people will go to hell outside of Christ. The thing is they believe people have a chance after death which is a doctrine straight from the mouth of Satan. God bless you both for being out there and loving your neighbors. It truly saddens me when I see someone so close but yet so far away and especially when they shut off at very key points of the conversations. Mormons don’t take Hell as seriously as Biblical Christians do. Maybe it’s because they don’t feel they deserve it. Them not understanding that they deserve Hell and ought to go to Hell for theirs sins against a just thrice Holy God they will never have the humility Christ called for. Self righteousness is a killer, idolatry is a killer, no fear of God is a killer. I’m praying for this girl. Bless you all for being out there.
That’s because your idea of the hell is laughable. Only a demonic God would create a world and people only to predetermine who is going to hell and who is going to be saved. If this were true, there would be no purpose to mortal life. It’s an absolutely asinine belief. You think modern day prophets are sacrilegious. The totally bizarre God you believe in is sacrilegious.
That was so good but also so painful. Good job being loving and yet solid about what the Bible says and about truth, even when she got really uncomfortable about it.
Mormonism is a nickname. The correct name of the Church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of which I also am a member. I come from a long line of protestantism (Baptist, Presbyterian, and Lutheran). Greatfully many of my grandparents were prepared and gathered to this church. I'm grateful to leave the man made doctrines of sola scriptura and trinity to realize the truths of the ongoing restoration. Thousands of years ago the Lord prepared to have the Book of Mormon begin it's story to be placed on gold plates and restored in these last days through the prophet Joseph Smith. How grateful I am to have prophets and apostles and priesthood authority and the gift of the Holy Ghost that allows me to receive revelation. I invite you to open your hearts and come and experience these things as well that you might rejoice.

@@apologiautah May point that I was making was about the fact that in Mormonism I do not see a created Jesus. We can debate all day on whether or not there was a pre-existace. The teachings that come out of King Follett discourse has been rejected by the mormon church as well as the teachings that people can ever become God's with their own planet and spirit offspring. See LDS website essay titled "Becoming like God" I am not debating on Mormonism teachings being correct or accurate, because that has already been proven multiple times. However I will debate the fact that I still believe most Mormons are saved because they believe in salvation through the Blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ and that it is only the Grace (Free Gift) that salvation from the outer darkness of Hell comes. Most Christians get confused when Mormons say "saved" or "salvation" because they are talking about being saved from losing their Inheritance (Crowns) at the Judement Seat of Christ based on what the do (works) It doesn't matter what they call it or how they think it works. If they believe they are saved by the grace of Christ then they are saved. The question you have to ask them is : "How do you recive salvation from Outer Darkness?" The whole worship of a different Jesus is up for debate.
The word, hell, is not in the Bible at all! That is, it is not in the original Hebrew and Greek texts. Not one of the men who wrote the 66 books of the Bible ever used the word, hell, or any other word that means what hell means. The word, Hell, has been added to our Bibles over the years by various translators!

See where it says 3. This was such an amazing encounter. I wouldn't be discouraged by her response at the end about not telling people they're going to hell. I was Mormon and I was told I was going to hell by street ministers, and I gave them the same lecture about how they won't reach anyone by talking about hell. Ten years later, here I am, a born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Nobody is going to hell in the sense we believe it today. Hell is not even in the greek or Hebrew Bible. It’s a social construct created well after the Bible.
The serpent never lied in telling Eve she would be as the gods by eating the fruit Genesis 3:5 which is confirmed by God in Genesis 3:22. The only lie was that she wouldn’t die.
The faith vs. works debate, then, is really no debate at all. Both faith and works are integral parts of the Christian life. Biblically, faith is the cause of salvation, while works are the evidence of it. FORMAL DEBATE # 8 [Part 2 of 2] (Mormon Series:) ALAN HIGHT (Born-again Christian) Vs. LINDA (Latter-day Saint) One of the many areas in which Mormons fall short of saving faith is their belief that God is merely an exalted man who earned his position by good works (Mormon Doctrine, p. 321; Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 345). This directly contradicts the Bible, which states that God has existed in His position as God of the universe from eternity past (Revelation 1:8; 1 Timothy 1:17; 6:15-16; Psalm 102:24-27). God was never a man (Numbers 23:19; 1 Samuel 15:29; Hosea 11:9) and is the holy and powerful Creator of all things (Genesis 1; Psalm 24:1; Isaiah 37:16). Mormons also believe that they themselves can attain the status of gods in the afterlife through their works here on earth (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 345-354). However, no man can ever become like God (1 Samuel 2:2; Isaiah 43:10-11; 44:6; 45:21-22), despite what the serpent told Eve in the garden (Genesis 3:5). Those who follow the Mormon faith also believe that they can attain heaven through works (Doctrine and Covenants 58:42-43; 2 Nephi 9:23-24; Alma 34:30-35; Articles of Faith, p.92). While they claim faith in Christ, they also rely on following the commandments of the Mormon Church (Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, p 188; Mormon Doctrine, p. 670) and practicing good works (2 Nephi 25:23; Alma 11:37) in order to achieve salvation. The Bible is very clear on this point, stating that good works can never earn the way to heaven (Romans 11:6; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5) and that faith in Jesus Christ alone is the only way to salvation (John 10:9; 11:25; 14:6; Acts 4:12). Salvation by grace is incompatible with salvation by human works (Romans 11:6). This destroys the 2 Nephi 25:23 verse: “For we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do” Many passages of the Bible teach that salvation is through faith alone, not faith plus works. Ephesians 2:8-9, for example, is clearly worded and unequivocal: “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast.” Of great importance is the word grace, which refers to God’s blessings on the undeserving. The very idea of grace negates all attempts to earn salvation. Paul makes that argument when teaching on God’s choosing of the remnant of Israel: “Since it is through God’s kindness, then it is not by their good works. For in that case, God’s grace would not be what it really is-free and undeserved” (Romans 11:6, NLT). There are a few Bible passages that, at first glance, seem to teach salvation through faith plus works. One such is James 2:24, which appears to say that justification is by faith plus works: “You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.” This apparent problem is solved by examining the whole of James’ argument in his epistle. James is refuting the idea that a person can have saving faith without producing any good works (see James 2:17-18). Genuine faith in Christ, James says, will produce a changed life and result in good works (James 2:20-26). James is not saying that justification is by faith plus works, but that a person who is truly justified by faith will have good works in his or her life. The works are an outward show of genuine faith in Christ (James 2:14, 17, 20, 26)-and it’s that outward show that “justifies” the believer in the sight of other people. Paul says those who have true faith in Jesus Christ will be “eager to do what is good” (Titus 2:14). To return to Ephesians 2, immediately after teaching that we are saved through faith, not through works (Ephesians 2:8-9), Paul says that we were created “to do good works” (Ephesians 2:10). Salvation comes by God’s grace through faith, and that faith is made manifest in good works. The works follow the faith and are a proof of it. If we’re going to say that we are saved by works, we must qualify whose works. We are not saved by our own works, however meritorious they are in our own eyes. We are saved solely by the work of Christ on our behalf. His death and His resurrection are the works that save us. We receive our Savior by faith (John 1:12). Other passages that clearly teach salvation through faith alone include Acts 16:31; Romans 3:28; 4:5; 5:1; Galatians 2:16; 3:24; Ephesians 1:13; and Philippians 3:9. Clearly, there is only one way to receive salvation and that is to know God and His Son, Jesus (John 17:3). Receiving salvation is not done by works but by faith (Romans 1:17; 3:28). We can receive this gift no matter who we are or what we have done (Romans 3:22). “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Although Mormons are usually friendly, loving, and kind people, they are deceived by a false religion that distorts the nature of God, the Person of Jesus Christ, and the means of salvation. Ultimately, the Mormon false religion should be rejected outright by true Christians of God.

Now, I know you don't believe in those, but that's what we believe. @@Kapayapaanman Sounds like an attempt to refer to James 2: 14-26. If so, James never refers to the quality of the works but the quality of faith. I love how the passage is summed up in verse 26, “For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.” Because in the same way the vital signs of life are not the cause of life but the result of it. Only God can give us physical life by putting our spirit in our body. A dead person is unresponsive, in and of themselves because they cannot make themselves alive. Likewise, insincere faith produces no vital signs and is also dead. Only God makes our faith alive, a faith that produces outward fruits OF GOD’S Spirit. It is NOT of ourselves. The biblical text is clear on that point. God‘s Holy Spirit indwells with the people who genuinely believe in the sufficiency of Christ alone and are provided a faith made alive in and through Him.
@@loelholmes-ficko8868 “if you love me, keep my commandments.” Is that a good enough number? Straight from Jesus’ mouth. Jesus is the ultimate saving grace, however, the least he asks for is our righteousness. It’s a combination of faith and works, just as the Bible teaches.
@@found-in-him yes, the ultimate power to save is through god and Christ’s atonement. However, the entire purpose of life is to develop faith. One cannot simply claim, “I am saved because I believe.” This is why Jesus said there are many who draw near me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. “If ye love me keep my commandments.” Maybe the scripture should say “love without works is dead. Faith without love is also dead.” There would be no purpose to the commandments or life on earth if all we needed was faith. If that were the case why would god create a world full of people that never even knew of him in the way that you do? So does God hate good people that where taught a different faith tradition than you? That is absurd if you believe in a loving God. Also there’s revelations 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

He lives in great glory. He is perfect. He possesses all knowledge and all wisdom. He is the Father of spirit children. He is a creator. We can become like our Heavenly Father. This is exaltation.” “If we prove faithful to the Lord, we will live in the highest degree of the celestial kingdom of heaven. We will become exalted, just like our Heavenly Father. Exaltation is the greatest gift that Heavenly Father can give his children (see D&C 14:7).” *Blessings of Exaltation* Our Heavenly Father is perfect. However, he is not jealous of his wisdom and perfection. He glories in the fact that it is possible for his children to become like him. He has said, "This is my work and my glory--to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man" (Moses 1:39). Those who receive exaltation in the celestial kingdom through faith in Jesus Christ will receive special blessings. The Lord has promised, "All things are theirs" (D&C 76:59). These are some of the blessings given to exalted people: 1. They will live eternally in the presence of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ (see D&C 76). *2. THEY WILL BECOME GODS.* 3. They will have their righteous family members with them and will be able to have spirit children also. These spirit children will have the same relationship to them as we do to our Heavenly Father. They will be an eternal family. 4. They will receive a fulness of joy. 5. They will have everything that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have--all power, glory, dominion, and knowledge. President Joseph Fielding Smith [10th Mormon prophet] wrote: "The Father has promised through the Son that all that he has shall be given to those who are obedient to his commandments. They shall increase in knowledge, wisdom, and power, going from grace to grace, until the fulness of the perfect day shall burst upon them" (Doctrines of Salvation, Vol. 2 of 3, page 36). *”Requirements for Exaltation”* “The time to fulfill the requirements for exaltation is now (see Alma 34:32-34). President Joseph Fielding Smith said, "In order to obtain the exaltation we must accept the gospel and all its covenants; and take upon us the obligations which the Lord has offered; and walk in the light and understanding of the truth; and 'live by every word that proceedeth forth from the mouth of God' " (Doctrines of Salvation, Vol. 2 of 3 ,page 43).” To be exalted, we first must place our faith in Jesus Christ and then endure in that faith to the end of our lives. Our faith in him must be such that we repent of our sins and obey his commandments. He commands us all to receive certain ordinances: 1. We must be baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. 2. We must receive the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. 3. We must receive the temple endowment. 4. We must be married for time and eternity. In addition to receiving the required ordinances, the Lord commands all of us to-- 1. Love and worship God. 2. Love our neighbor. 3. Repent of our wrongdoings. [See Ch.19 about the seven steps required for repentance.] 4. Live the law of chastity. 5. Pay honest tithes and offerings. [Meaning 10% of your gross, i.e., total income. “Gospel Principles," Ch. 32] 6. Be honest in our dealings with others and with the Lord. 7. Speak the truth always. *8. Obey the Word of Wisdom.* [Meaning no tea or coffee, in that they contain caffeine, and no alcohol or tobacco] 9. Search out our kindred dead and perform the saving ordinances of the gospel for them. [Meaning they go into one of their temples, put their temple garments, and perform baptism for the dead] 10. Keep the Sabbath day holy. 11. Attend our Church meetings as regularly as possible so we can renew our baptismal covenants by partaking of the sacrament. 12. Love our family members and strengthen them in the ways of the Lord. 13. Have family and individual prayers every day. 14. Honor our parents. 15. Teach the gospel to others by word and example. 16. Study the scriptures. 17. Listen to and obey the inspired words of the prophets of the Lord. 18. Develop true charity in our lives. [1995 Edition, deleted in the 1997 Edition] Finally, each of us needs to receive the Holy Ghost and learn to follow his direction in our individual lives. (1995 Edition included this sentence, deleted in the 1997 Edition) *In other words, each person must endure in faithfulness, keeping all the Lord’s commandments until the end of his life on earth.* *”Requirement Number 3 above, the requirement of Repentance.”* In addition to the above requirements for so-called “Exaltation,” there is a chapter on the seven steps of repentance, what each step mean, and what is required for each step. Included are quotes from Mormon so-called prophets and Mormon so-called apostles, to backup their claim that this is all necessary. “Gospel Principles,” 1997 Ed., Chapter 19, entitled “Repentance.” *“THIS IS THE WAY OUR HEAVENLY FATHER BECAME GOD.* Joseph Smith taught: ‘It is the first principle of the Gospel to know for a certainty the character of God. . . . Quit pretending to be a Bible scholar. You have no idea what the Bible says, in Greek, much less in English. Why would god be referred to as the father and Jesus the son if there is not a mother and a father? Why the need for these very specific pronouns? Oh, that’s right, they are just two dudes, chillin with out any women around. So…are they gay then?
If you are genuinely seeking for truth, read the entire gospel of John and pay specific attention to the way Jesus communicates with the Father as the Son, and the way He communicates with others when referring to God as His Father and Himself as the Son. The answer to your question is specifically found in John 5. If you decide to do anything I ask, please read John 5 with an open mind and try to remove pre-conceived ideas before reading the text. After healing a paralytic on the Sabbath, the Pharisees began persecuting Jesus, when Jesus became face to face with them, he made the statement in John 17 “My Father is working until now, and I am working”. The Jews would have immediately understood Jesus statement, because God did not rest on the Sabbath, and Jesus stating that He was working on the Sabbath because His Father was also working, was the only way He could communicate with the Jews that He was equal with the Father, while at the same time differentiating Himself as a distinct person from the Father. The terms Father and Son are used because the only true God is not one person, hence the need to differentiate between the 3 persons sharing the one true being of YHWH. As the Jews clearly understood, Jesus claiming to be the Son of God, was Jesus way of differentiating Himself from the person of God the Father while letting them understand that just like human fathers and sons both have the same nature, Jesus being the Son was revealing that He shared the same nature as God. If you were to accept Jesus statement in John 17:3, “And this is eternal life, that they know you (the Father), the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” You would understand that Jesus statement 2 verses later, “And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed”, is not one god speaking to another god, but God the Son asking God the Father to glorify Himself with the glory they have eternally shared together as the only true God.
@@Hez0 sheep are used as a metaphor, in a few instances “other sheep I have which are not of this fold”. ITs funny these bible salespeople say "We love you" but you are going to hell (because you don't believe in our opinion)! Jesus taught against this! The Girl is the one on track (not these dudes).
The bible calls us to rightly _divide_ the word of truth (2 Tim 2:15); making distinctions brings clarity. Notice how LDS' try to unite their lie with the truth by manufacturing common ground and conflating; attempting to cloud judgment and discernment.
I do not believe that a loving Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ, would ever take anyone who is earnestly and sincerely seeking His will in their lives, and throw them into an eternal Barbeque pit because they chose the "wrong" (read: your) church/denomination/religion.
@@corybritton1966 And the modern Mormon would be appalled by their history.
@corybritton1966 ;
True ...
But unfortunately, the evangelical Christians here are also guilty of the same ignorance of their own history too.
For instance, at around the 8:25 mark he accuses Jehovah’s Witnesses of claiming Christ is the Archangel Michael. Yet that belief was admitted and taught by the Protestant churches' scholars and theologians long before modern day JWs. ....
For instance. ...
The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia;
“The earlier Protestant scholars usually identified Michael with the preincarnate Christ, finding support for their view, not only in the juxtaposition of the “child” and the archangel in Rev. 12, but also in the attributes ascribed to him in Daniel” - vol. 3, p. 2048, Eerdmans Publishing, 1984 printing.
Even Protestant Reformer John Calvin said regarding "Michael" in its occurrence at Daniel 12:1:
"I embrace the opinion of those who refer this to the person of Christ, because it suits the subject best to represent him as standing forward for the defense of his elect people." - J. Calvin, Commentaries On The Book Of The Prophet Daniel, trans. T. Myers (Grand Rapids: Baker Book House, 1979), vol. 2 p. 369.
Or John Gill's, -- A Body of Doctrinal Divinity, Book 7 Chapter 5:
"Another prophecy in Daniel 12:1-3 respects the second and personal coming of Christ; for he is meant by Michael, who is "as God", as his name signifies, equal to him; the ‘great prince,’ the prince of the kings of the earth, and the head of all principalities and powers" etc.
How does the classic old saying go about those who live in glass houses? ...
What do you expect from a god that is continuing to “progress?”

That shows the difference between members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and sectarian Christians. Sectarians believe they are here to judge their fellow beings. ❤
Wow.
This is amazing! I'm so happy for God's work in your life and that you dodged a bullet.

Ray Comfort is right, if you tell people they are going to hell without taking them through the law they will be offended. I have a question for the Mormon , does Jesus Christ get His own planet , and does Joseph Smith get his own planet and if they do , when ?
Thank you, and god bless in all the great work you do
Amen

GORDON b HINCKLEY'S QUOTE ABOUT A DIFFERENT JESUS
In bearing testimony of Jesus Christ, President Hinckley spoke of those outside the Church who say Latter-day Saints ‘do not believe in the traditional Christ.’
‘No, I don’t. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak. For the Christ of whom I speak has been revealed in this the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times. He together with His Father, appeared to the boy Joseph Smith in the year 1820, and when Joseph left the grove that day, he knew more of the nature of God than all the learned ministers of the gospel of the ages.'” (LDS Church News Week ending June 20, 1998, p. 7).
LDS Apostle Erastus Snow preached the following on Sunday, October 4, 1857:
Do the women, when they pray, remember their husbands? . . . Do you uphold your husband before God as your lord? “What!-my husband to be my lord?”
I ask, Can you get into the celestial kingdom without him?

LINDA (Latter-day Saint)
Welcome Ladies and Gentleman! My opponent and I have come together to prove/debunk ONE of the 30 heresies of the LDS Church.
Linda has selected a numbered topic at random. The topic that was chosen:
# 29: MORMON FAITH + WORKS VIOLATES SCRIPTURE
I will first provide my Opening Statement (unlimited words) before my opponent counters with a rebuttal (unlimited words.) The comments will teeter back and forth until one doctrinal belief overwhelms the other as either proven true or false.
There are 30 such doctrines that violate Christianity, and I will discuss one in particular: the doctrine of Faith + Works
The faith vs. works debate often comes up in discussions of salvation. There are many who say that a person is saved based on some mixture of faith and works. Biblical Christianity teaches salvation by faith in Jesus Christ, apart from any works we do. Perhaps the best place to start is to clearly define faith and works:
What is faith?

Frls even their Book of Mormon says they won’t get a second chance
That’s because your idea of the hell is laughable. Only a demonic God would create a world and people only to predetermine who is going to hell and who is going to be saved. If this were true, there would be no purpose to mortal life. It’s an absolutely asinine belief. You think modern day prophets are sacrilegious. The totally bizarre God you believe in is sacrilegious.
Amen brothers, y’all keep doing what your doing, god is with y’all.
I am a non practising Mormon priest I left the church along time ago because I found the real jesus Joseph smith and the book of Mormon are false I pray that you find the real jesus aswell and be saved from the LDS church

We don’t reject scripture. Just certain interpretations of it.

@@godtalk9645 Since baptism is required for exaltation, those who died without baptism were baptized vicariously. Paul was talking with those who did not believe in the resurrection. He asks them, wny do they do this if there's no resurrection?
This is like one saying Santa Claus put Rudolph in charge. And someone else arguing that Rudolph never really had a shiny nose so couldn’t have led the slay. It’s all made up together.
So let’s all pretend, via a pseudo-science, that once upon a time something exploded and then by random happenstance and dumb luck somehow everything we see came into existence, aka the big bang theory, and by random happenstance and dump luck a fish mutated into a human, aka, evolution.
The greatest difference between members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and secular Christians is that members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints believe that all judgment is given to the Son of God, whereas secular Christians believe they are here to judge their fellow beings.

See LDS website essay titled "Becoming like God"
I am not debating on Mormonism teachings being correct or accurate, because that has already been proven multiple times. However I will debate the fact that I still believe most Mormons are saved because they believe in salvation through the Blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ and that it is only the Grace (Free Gift) that salvation from the outer darkness of Hell comes.
Most Christians get confused when Mormons say "saved" or "salvation" because they are talking about being saved from losing their Inheritance (Crowns) at the Judement Seat of Christ based on what the do (works)
It doesn't matter what they call it or how they think it works. If they believe they are saved by the grace of Christ then they are saved.
The question you have to ask them is : "How do you recive salvation from Outer Darkness?"
The whole worship of a different Jesus is up for debate.

Gehenna and Hades
You are correct. The Hebrew interpretation of “shoel” was the underworld, or where people went when they died.
Sheol-hades is where people go when they die in there sin and the lake of fire is hell which is only recorded in revelations where death and Hades are thrown into the lake of fire once jesus come back.

The "Trinity" was formed from the Catholic theology (not Evangelicals) - who just "adopted" this idea. (So how can they say they (Evangelicals) say they are right, instead of the Catholics)? So if the trinity is "wrong" then both sects are misled / wrong. (If truth like these people say, matters).

ACtually, the wording of said "Prophecy" could conceivably mean the temple at Kirtland, not Missouri. See where it says
3. Which city shall be built, beginning at the temple lot, which is appointed by the finger of the Lord, in the western boundaries of the State of Missouri, and dedicated by the hand of Joseph Smith, Jun., and others with whom the Lord was well pleased.

5. For verily this generation shall not all pass away until an house shall be built unto the Lord, and a cloud shall rest upon it, which cloud shall be even the glory of the Lord, which shall fill the house.
Beginning at THIS PLACE. Since this revelation was given at Kirtland, it could very well mean the Kirtland temple.
But, even if He was talking about the Missouri temple, that would not have been a prophecy, but a command. Which is confirmed by
D&C 124:49 Verily, verily, I say unto you, that when I give a commandment to any of the sons of men to do a work unto my name, and those sons of men go with all their might and with all they have to perform that work, and cease not their adiligence, and their enemies come upon them and bhinder them from performing that work, behold, it behooveth me to crequire that work no more at the hands of those sons of men, but to accept of their offerings...
51 Therefore, for this cause have I accepted the offerings of those whom I commanded to build up a city and a ahouse unto my name, in Jackson county, Missouri, and were hindered by their enemies, saith the Lord your God.
Apologia are preaching the gospel of Paul again and not the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They criticise 2 Nephi 25:23 again claiming it is non biblical but it makes basically the same point that 1 John 1:7 makes.
This was such an amazing encounter. I wouldn't be discouraged by her response at the end about not telling people they're going to hell. I was Mormon and I was told I was going to hell by street ministers, and I gave them the same lecture about how they won't reach anyone by talking about hell.
LINDA (Latter-day Saint)
One of the many areas in which Mormons fall short of saving faith is their belief that God is merely an exalted man who earned his position by good works (Mormon Doctrine, p.
This destroys the 2 Nephi 25:23 verse: “For we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do”
Many passages of the Bible teach that salvation is through faith alone, not faith plus works.
OK, just to be clear, I'm not here to debate on who's right and who's wrong. This debate is not going to change either one of us to the other's way of believing. For one thing, I was seriously brought up to believe as Alan Hight believes. But it just didn't feel right. God showed me where He wanted me to go.
*_Mormonism can be referred to as a cult, which can be defined as “a religious group that denies one or more of the fundamentals of biblical truth.”_*
CAN be defined, but not everyone defines it the same. That's definately not the Webster's definition of "cult".
*_but because they reject foundational truths from God’s Word, they are not._*
What we reject is your interpretation of God's word. I assume you are going to cover what those foundational truths are, that we reject.
*_Work is that which we perform for some kind of reward._*
For us, work is what we believe the Lord Jesus Christ wants us to do, in order to become perfect, or complete, as our Father in Heaven is perfect, or complete.
*_the two sides maintain that either we are saved by faith (and faith alone), or we are saved by works (or, more commonly, works added to faith). Which side is correct?_*
Let's add a third, Faith, AND Works. Faith alone gets us no where, and works alone gets us no where.
Works done because of our faith in Jesus Christ and the Laws and Ordinances of THE GOSPEL (not the Laws of Moses).
IOW, we don't do works to get brownie points with God. We do works for OUR benefit, the benefit of our brothers and sisters and all mankind, and to praise God. Matthew 5:16
Also, the definition of "salvation" is a little different. To you, salvation is the end of the Journey. To us, Salvation is the end of one part of our journey (mortal life) and the beginning of another part (exaltation). Now, I know you don't believe in those, but that's what we believe. And I find nothing in the Bible that contradicts that at all.
*_“Know that a person is not justified by the works of the law,_*
Paul is speaking of the Law of Moses. We are not.
*_Those who have true faith in Jesus Christ will be “eager to do what is good” (Titus _**_2:14_**_)_*
However, one must do the will of the Father and the Son, not just go out on their own. Matthew 7:21-23

What a great conversation. I will be praying for her. I still get so confused when Mormons claim they believe in salvation by grace. The third article of faith states otherwise.
Were are all saved by grace, after we put for effort. Just as the Bible teaches. One cannot simply profess faith. One must live a life that produces the fruits of faith. Otherwise, our entire existence would be meaningless. It’s a very simple concept, really. And don’t reply with the “lest any man should boast” bull crap.
@@Kapayapaanman Thats literally what the Bible says. Also How many works of faith do I have to do to be saved? Give me an exact number. How frequent? So does Jesus save me, or does my effort and works? Who is the savior? Am I saving myself with Jesus stickered on, or is the GREAT I AM saving me from my sins, and I do works and produce fruit as a result of my salvation?
How could one profess faith or to love Jesus and not try to keep his commandments? By your logic, one could profess faith and live a life of sin, and be saved.
“If ye love me keep my commandments.”
Maybe the scripture should say “love without works is dead. Faith without love is also dead.”
There would be no purpose to the commandments or life on earth if all we needed was faith.

Apologia are misusing Isaiah 43:10 again which is about Jehovah saying he is the only God to the Israelites who are worshipping idols. Unit Ten, Life after Death - Chapter 47, Exaltation, Page 30
*”What Is Exaltation?”*
*“EXALTATION IS ETERNAL LIFE,* the kind of life God lives. Exaltation is the greatest gift that Heavenly Father can give his children (see D&C 14:7).”
*Blessings of Exaltation*
Our Heavenly Father is perfect.
These are some of the blessings given to exalted people:
1. They will live eternally in the presence of Heavenly Father and
Jesus Christ (see D&C 76).
*2. THEY WILL BECOME GODS.*
*”Requirements for Exaltation”*
“The time to fulfill the requirements for exaltation is now (see Alma 34:32-34). 2 of 3 ,page 43).”
To be exalted, we first must place our faith in Jesus Christ and then endure in that faith to the end of our lives. Our faith in him must be such that we repent of our sins and obey his commandments. He commands us all to receive certain ordinances:
1. We must be baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ.
2. We must receive the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
3. We must receive the temple endowment.
4. We must be married for time and eternity.
In addition to receiving the required ordinances, the Lord commands all of us to--
1. Love and worship God.
2. Love our neighbor.
3. Repent of our wrongdoings.
[See Ch.19 about the seven steps required for repentance.]
4. Live the law of chastity.
5. Pay honest tithes and offerings.
[Meaning 10% of your gross, i.e., total income. “Gospel Principles," Ch. 32]
6. Be honest in our dealings with others and with the Lord.
7. Speak the truth always.
*8. Obey the Word of Wisdom.*
[Meaning no tea or coffee, in that they contain caffeine, and no alcohol or tobacco]
9. Search out our kindred dead and perform the saving ordinances of the gospel for them. [Meaning they go into one of their temples, put their temple garments, and perform baptism for the dead]
[1995 Edition, deleted in the 1997 Edition]
Finally, each of us needs to receive the Holy Ghost and learn to follow his direction in our individual lives.
(1995 Edition included this sentence, deleted in the 1997 Edition)
*In other words, each person must endure in faithfulness, keeping all the Lord’s commandments until the end of his life on earth.*
*”Requirement Number 3 above, the requirement of Repentance.”*
In addition to the above requirements for so-called “Exaltation,” there is a chapter on the seven steps of repentance, what each step mean, and what is required for each step. Included are quotes from Mormon so-called prophets and Mormon so-called apostles, to backup their claim that this is all necessary.

This nonsense was part of Brigham Young’s, 2nd Mormon false prophet, Sunday Service message to the self proclaimed latter-day saints, in the Tabernacle, Salt Lake City, October 9, 1859. (Journal of Discourses Vol. 7 of 26, p 289)
Brigham Young is highly revered and studied by Mormons; so highly respected is Young that Mormons named a university in Utah after him, BYU.
And that is not doctrine
But Joseph smith did restore the church
@@peterkennedy8011 Joseph Smith taught his followers, ”GOD HIMSELF WAS ONCE AS WE ARE NOW, AND IS AN EXALTED MAN, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens. That is the great secret. We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity, I will refute that idea, and will take away and do away the veil, so that you may see It is the first principle of the Gospel to know for a certainty the *character of God.. AND THAT HE WAS ONCE A MAN LIKE US;* yea, that God himself the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth the same as Jesus Christ himself did; ... to know the only wise and true God; and *YOU HAVE GOT TO LEARN HOW TO BE GODS YOURSELVES,* and priests to God, *THE SAME AS ALL GODS HAVE DONE BEFORE YOU.”*
Smith announced this brand new teaching at a funeral for Elder King Follett who accidentally fell into a well and was killed. The funeral took place during the time of General Conference, Sunday, Nauvoo, Illinois, April 7 1844, 14 years after Smith had written the Book of Mormon.
Also at this time, Smith was campaigning to become President of the United States.

"The Jesus" of Joseph Smith IS "the Jesus" of the Bible.

@@nightshade99 He's just not "the Jesus" of your interpretation of the Bible.
@@lindalds Correct! There is only ONE true Jesus, and it is the biblical one. Any saint guided by the Holy Spirit can plainly see that

@@lindalds No, the Mormon Jesus is not the true Jesus. You are in violation of John 1
Those who believe in immortality for all from birth must reinterpret the Bible to say:
1. Those who are destroyed are not destroyed. (James 4:12; 2 Peter 2:12; 2 Peter 3:7)
2. Those who perish do not perish. (1 Corinthians 1:8: John 3:16)
3. Those who die do not die. (Romans 6:23)
4. The end of the wicked is not really their end. (Philippians 3:19; Hebrews 6:8)
5. Those who are consumed are not consumed. (Hebrews 10:27)
6. Mortals are born immortal; (1 Timothy 6:16) therefore, how can there be any such thing as being mortal? There are no mortals and could never be a mortal if all men are created immortal.
7. The second death is not a death; it is eternal life with torment. (Revelation 21:8)
Good things we “Mormons” don’t believe Mormonism saves. “Mormonism” isn’t even the name of anything.
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ only believe there is ONE who saves. Jesus Christ. Because we are christian.

Gay in the classical sense and not the neologism sense.
Can sheep type on keyboards? Why would God refer to Christians as sheep?
@@Hez0 sheep are used as a metaphor, in a few instances “other sheep I have which are not of this fold”. When Jesus is talking about his father, And the father his son, i don’t see any metaphorical implications anywhere.
If God is uncreated, as many here argue. Who created Jesus? Or did they both appear at the same time?

The bible calls us to rightly _divide_ the word of truth (2 Tim 2:15); making distinctions brings clarity.
Notice how LDS' try to unite their lie with the truth by manufacturing common ground and conflating; attempting to cloud judgment and discernment.
She’s so deceived.
I do not believe that a loving Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ, would ever take anyone who is earnestly and sincerely seeking His will in their lives, and throw them into an eternal Barbeque pit because they chose the "wrong" (read: your) church/denomination/religion.
That is because you are a denier of Scripture and are using faulty human wisdom
Prayers for her she letting the church control and deception on her she needs the real Jesus of the holy Bible nothing of the Lds will save her.
