Sobrang love ko content mo KYT 😍, I love history and ure educating the new generation how these places come to be, and what happened to them today.. Hello Fern, again I truly enjoyed this blog. Sarap sariwain ang naka-raan. I still remember our first visit in the Manila Zoological and Botanical Garden, with the whole family. It was November of 1959. It was an hour+ line up!! And the previous day my sister and I watched Disney's Sleeping Beauty at Ideal theatre in Avenida! Batang maliit pa ako noon!! Nice documentary! But before Mali, there was Goyo, an elephant who became popular during pre-war period when Manila zoo was a part of Jardin Botanico a small portion of which is now Mehan Gardens at the back of Metropolitan Theater. Unfortunately, Goyo, the elephant who entertained millions of Manilans, and other animals died during the war due to starvation. Nasa Google. Thanks for this nice look at our history!
Manila Zoo has a great part of our history as 1 of the best recreational family bonding aside from Luneta, Fort Santiago & Nayong Pilipino during the years of 60s up to 80s. Even the students from different schools go to this place as part of their educational field trips. But there's a lot of changes now. I still remember during those years there's a lot of different kinds of animals that you can see but now I've noticed it's just like a big park with a lot of food stalls but before they do not allowed to bring food inside the Zoo. Although the place is really looks beautiful now but this is a Zoo (Animals place for viewing) why there's a few Animals to see? 😢 Maybe 🤔 as years to come they will add more different species but most importantly give extra care and proper medication to this living creatures to prolong their healthy lives. 🤗 For me I'd still like Manila Zoo before it has a sentimental history as part of my childhood 🥺
Noong year 1990's maliliit pa ang tatlong anak kung lalaki ipinasyal naming mag-asawa sila sa MANILA ZOO at hindi pa ganyan ka ganda ito ngayon na nasa age 50"s na sila at may mga anak na sana mabisita nila itong pinagandang MANILA ZOO ni Yorme ISKO nasa Canada na kami ngayon pero isa-suggest ko sa kanila na dalhin at bisitahin nilang muli kasama ang mga apo ko itong super ganda na MANILA ZOO 😊😊
Bro Fern, for info - the new zoo will open November 15, 2022. Medyo mahal entrance fee 250 ( visitors - non Manila residents) , at 150 pra sa taga Manila - adult & children. No mention if meron discount senior ctzn. I remember seeing Mali nung dinala ko anak ko at mga pamangkin dyan baby p cla kla nila bato biglang kumilos 😆. Last time ko binisita zoo mga 2014 yta, ang baho na sa loob at nilulumot mga paligid. can't wait to go back & see the new zoo
