Very helpful video. Where can I get the scale, fragile stickers and dyno printer?
I have read that when you slap a fragile sticker on a package, the post office can hold the package for postage due. Meaning instead of delivering it to recipient, the recipient receives a notification that they have to pick it up at the post office and pay the remaining balance postage due. You are technically supposed to pay a special handling charge for fragile packages.
Boxes are free from the usps store, great tips !
Hi Khiarra, Are you talking about the free flat rate ones? I don't think you can put Etsy labels on those- only pay the flat rate fee which, for me, is always more expensive then the USPS labels I purchase through Etsy.

How much does it typically cost to ship 1 glass and how does it ship?
Finally a video that helps me!! I'm starting to sell custom shot-glasses and steam-less wineglasses online but I am always terrified of them breaking. especially because in Canada shipping is terribly expensive average shipping is $10-25 for something small within Canada.... Have you ever had complaints of the vinyl releasing from the glasses after a prolonged use? I have been using Oracle 651 and it seems fine but the only metallic options we have available here is the Teckwrap brand which is a little pricey and dont even know if it will stick well. Love your videos!
Edit: Sorry, just curious to know how to go alone purchasing fonts for commercial use. I find they are so expensive like $30 a font. Do you have any places you would recommend to better commercial use font prices? Thanks!
Hey there!
The times that my glasses did break, USPS was able to refund me the cost of the order (price that the customer paid) because I was shipping first class or priority (via Etsy) and the packages are insured up to $100 USD. See if your shipping method would cover you like that. Submitting a claim/ them approving it was fairly simple (make sure you submit a photo of the broken item along with the customer receipt to prove the cost of the order).
I use all different vinyl, oracle, cricut, some I find on Amazon, etc. Though some do feel more secure I've only had maybe 1 or 2 people ever complain about vinyl peeling and I've sold probably 6 - 8 thousand glasses. This was very early on in my business when I was just learning the ropes. The first time, I forgot to secure the vinyl. I now make sure I secure the vinyl by pressing it down with something that is soft plastic (I actually use a poker chip)! The second time the customer didn't say it peeled, but she said she was afraid it would. That customer asked for a lot of text which meant smaller words and thinner vinyl, so now I make sure the text is thick enough or tell a customer when their text is too long and suggest other options. Also, on my Thank You notes that go in each order it says "please hand wash" as a reminder.
Regarding fonts, I've spent HOURS looking for fonts and I don't purchase unless I'm really sure I'm going to use one. I think fonts are worth the investment. I've actually started practicing calligraphy and am planning on making my own font. That takes a lot of time, patience, and practice. I now see why people charge so much for their fonts and am happy to pay for them if I love them enough to want to use them on my glasses. I'm not that shop owner that has 50 font options (though I usually purchase them for about 16 USD, not 30, maybe its 30 because you're purchasing in Canadian dollars). I purchase on hungryjpg.com and creativemarket.com.

I love the technique of securing the vinyl by pressing it down with something a little harder, I usually just rub it down with my finger and leave it as is. After paying for shipping and supplies your profit margin must be tiny if any at all.
if you buy it in bulk, you should earn your money back easier

And you are using bubble wrap around your glasses wrong. The smooth side should be in…bubbles out. Bummer I know. 😁
