I was in my 30s watching this with family, including my mother. She didn't get the joke, and I didn't want to "explain" it to her.
She was more annoyed that everyone else was laughing, than that she didn't get the joke. My girl cousin, also in her 30s, later told her in private and my mother was mortified.

I swear I could hardly keep my mind on my school work just thinking about Colonel Angus. Naturally when I told all the other girls about Colonel Angus they want to be introduced as well. And so I did. It was like having the pleasures Colonel Angus all year. So true...... You can never really get your fill of Colonel Angus. You'se got to return to go find him every now and again, even if that means maneuvering through the heat and humidity of TH-cam, fighting off all resistance, until you can lay your head in the warm embrace of Shady Thicket. Then you will know you can get reacquainted with Colonel Angus. He truly is an acquired taste. 😉

Looking at all the 100's of "stills" from all of the classic sketches covering the walls, I mentioned to Tina that my favorite sketch didn't seem to be immortalized on those walls. She asked what my favorite sketch was and I mentioned "the colonel angus sketch". She let me know that it was one of her favorites to write and wondered as well why that one was not represented anywhere in those halls. I think she complained to NBC about it later..!! (LOL)
