    Sad to think not only the BBC but other channels keep some of the dregs of so called reality tv going, yet Autumn watch is in fact real life so thanks to Chris, Megan and team for keeping true reality going. So grateful to you all. Thank you ❤

      I utterly agree. The BBC have shot themselves in the foot as far as I'm concerned. It used to Educate and entertain,now it presents propaganda.

    I was devastated when Autumnwatch ended. It's been an important show in my life as its given me a connection to nature that hasn't always been possible in person and was the one show I could watch with my Dad before he passed. Because he had dementia, he couldn't watch most things, but Springwatch and Autumnwatch we had them all recorded. It gave me quality time with him in his last few months. When I saw the Guardian article on this today, it brought me back. Delighted that Chris Packham and Meghan are back on our screens here, I'll be waiting for every video!

    Chris and Megan and everyone else involved, thank you so much for making these videos. Such a welcome antidote to the terrible news from round the world just now. Such a relief as well to hear sane voices rather than the dross we're treated to by our politicians. You bring joy and hope into our lives when we need it most!

    I’m proud to have brought beavers back to London after 400 years. These ecosystem engineers will bring countless benefits to the capital's natural and urban environments, so thank you for featuring this very special project!

      @heathermartin9949 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I was born in Acton & lived in Greenford. Hearing beavers were being released in Ealing made me feel very proud!

    • @mrburns444
      @mrburns444 ปีที่แล้ว

      What nonsense: start with bringing fish back to our rivers... salmon? ... too tricky .....and not so cuddly...

    • @heathermartin9949
      @heathermartin9949 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@mrburns444 Why not both? The beaver release in Ealing was a start for urban rewilding. A demonstration of what these animals can do to engineer the surrounding wetlands and improve them. With all the issues with water companies down south and the deterioration of river water quality, then we all have to demand better so that salmon and other fish species have the opportunity to repopulate southern rivers too.

    • @FireflyOnTheMoon
      @FireflyOnTheMoon ปีที่แล้ว

      Beaver radically improve river health. You have it the wrong way around. Beavers bring fish. @@mrburns444

    Great programme, Packham unleashed, just what we were waiting for and a great antidote to the sad loss of Autumnwatch. Thanks for featuring James Shooter, I was privileged to meet him in Cairngorm last year when he was preparing his 12 month European rewilding voyage of discovery and follow his podcast every month. Gives me some small sense of hope for our earth where the dominant species appears addicted to cutting down trees and pouring concrete.

    Thank you all so much for delighting us, educating us, sharing with us and including us the public with/in your programme. We live in the Isle of Lewis and my nearly 13 year old home educated daughter LOVES all things rewilding. We are also part of our small local team of tree seeds collecting volunteers run by the Woodland Trust/Trees for Life and it's lovely to know we all can help a bit to recover our beautiful home, planet Earth.
    My only hope is to not hear/see encouragement of windfarms. An -obviously- foreign energy company wants to put a sea windfarm off the Isle of Lewis and the sonar surveys being done in the area have caused mass strandings of cetaceans over the islands beaches.
    Electricity needs to be stored and I urge you to look at the effects lithium mining -lithium is used in the batteries- is causing over Peru, Bolivia and Chile. Whole towns are villages are being affected by the toxic waste of the mining, taking away their sources of water, essential for them and their animals to live.
    Many congratulations on this beautiful project.
    Love from the Isle of Lewis

      You speak for me too. I stopped the TV Licence in 2018 realising the golden days of mainstream media were over. The unexpected arrival of this in my YT feed made my day. The BBC has made a terrible error removing Autumnwatch. It’s decisions like that plus its dreadful news coverage that makes me realise I was right to no longer support an organisation hellbent on alienating its audience. It saddens me too. I worked for the BBC for 17 years - it was my dream job. What a sorry state it now finds itself in.

    I could not believe that Autumnwatch was cancelled, I know the BBC have financial problems and the current government are giving the broadcaster a hard time, but any programmes on important issues such as climate change and the need to keep up to date on how our wildlife is under immense pressure to survive, high profile presenters and eco activists such as Chris Packham has to resort to producing their own films, which is very commendable, but I wish that the BBC would get their priorities right, man up to their responsibilities and to us the licence fee payers, cut out on programmes of lesser importance to our current dire needs. This is important to us all.
