  • The Tatoosh Range is a stunning mountain range located in the southern Cascades of Washington, near Mount Rainier National Park. This rugged range boasts sharp peaks, deep valleys, and expansive alpine meadows. Its trails offer panoramic views of Mount Rainier and the surrounding wilderness. Wildflowers bloom in abundance during the summer months, and the steep meadows are tall, lush, bursting with color.
Wildflowers noted: Sitka Valerian, Columbia Tiger Lily, Orange Agoseris, Sugar Stick, Magenta Paintbrush, Yellow Fawn Lily, Western Pasque Flower, Oregon Sunshine, Turtlehead, Caldwell’s Penstemon, Subalpine Lupine, C;iff Penstemon, Red Columbine, Bear-grass, Avalnche Lily, Heartleaf Arnica, Rocky Mountain Butterweed, Rosy Spiraea, Three-nerve Fleabane,
Inspirational thanks to the novel “The Dharma Bums” by Jack Kerouac, and Rocky Mountain High album by John Denver.

I find some steps on trails hard to navigate and end up walking along next to them...just can't seem to get my legs to lift that high anymore. My goodness, that is sure the trail for wildflowers!! Quite amazing to see that many varieties in one area. Gorgeous views for sure! I'm thinking that is Mt. Rainier. One awesome hike!!
