    Despite whether or not people agree on m+Kb or controller, I'm really happy that you brought up disabled gamers! I hadn't even thought of that, and I think most people haven't either, so thank you for broadening my perspective a bit on that!

    The main advantage the kbm has over the controller is how easy it is to strafe jump. It makes movements much more controllable. It's still doable on a controller, but much harder to execute due to there not being a designated "left" and "right" key

    I actually think that controller aim assist in Titanfall is OP. When you aim with muse it's hard to be so precise on that one little target mooving so fast. With controller you just aim at him and all shots hit him quite well, but with mouse you gotta be much more precise, you can aim at him but every shot can miss.

    *AFTERWORD* - Would be great if you watched the whole video before making a comment that seeks to make an argument against something I actually covered and discussed that you just didn't bother to watch.
    We didn’t even get into the skill and knowledge factor behind each player. There's a lot going on here, it's far from clear cut. Use what works best for you based on your personal situation. If you are an avid PC gamer consider stepping up your knowledge when it comes to your mouse and it's settings. It's a fun little process that has a big payoff for those looking to put in the time and research.
    See you tomorrow for the Pink Mist loadout!

      Tony Mo aiming and moving are different, think about which fingers do you use for every action on joypad and kb+m. i moves the jump button to L1 some time ago and in tf and recent cod games it's better to me (i don't have a scuf).

    Controllers have aim assist regardless MK don't have it on? and your mouse pad comment is just stupid I have a 6 inch one and it works perfectly fine in titanfall? Controllers are only better in rare areas example darksouls because that game really wants the joystick for movement and no fighting games want a fight pad (If anyone uses that), racing games is an irrelevancy as you don't need the 360 movement. MK is objectively superior than game pads. it is just a fact there is evidence of this they had a tourney of titanfall one xbox vs pc and the xbox players got destroyed really bad. This is just really confusing? Why did you step into the stupid puddle?

    Been playing on PC for years, on some shooters I used mouse and keyboard, but, on Titanfall and Titanfall 2, always used a controller. It just doesn't feel right to use M+K for whatever reason.

  • @Shajirr_

    Finally someone putting this up! I hate the PC douchbags that always say that M+KB is always better, but no. It's not! It's all about personal preference. I have been PC gamer my whole life, just 3 years ago did i join the Xbox Family. Oh gosh, after i got my Xbox i spend less and less time on PC and more and more time on Xbox. I just love the controller vibrating gently in my hands :)

      @mrpolygon8189 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      glad to see you enjoy your platform of choice. However facts are facts, m+k is more precise. Sure so game are great for controller (I play risk of rain and other arcade games with a controller), but the fact of the matter is that controller only competes in titanfall because of the incredibly strong aim assist, disable that and you're at a HUGE disadvantage

    • @mrpolygon8189
      @mrpolygon8189 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ShadowWarrior42 I fully agree, however, to call someone "not a real gamer" simple because they compare things is maybe a bit harsh. would I not be a gamer if I compared my 1060 and previous 770? would I lose my gamer status by comparing my brothers ps4 and my friends Xbox1? comparing things is just something humans do. and after comparisons are made conclusions are drawn. in this case, m+k gives you more precision over controllers. but, that doesn't mean m+k is supreme, as I said I often use controllers for games that don't require precise clicking.

    • @GhostSlay3r
      @GhostSlay3r 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ShadowWarrior42 Completely agreed! :)

    • @mrpolygon8189
      @mrpolygon8189 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow that's a lot to unpack, lucky for you I rather and have some time on my hands ;). Now then, so you say comparing software is okay, but you didn't touch on whether or not comparing hardware is okay. Just would like some clarification on that one as I believe it to be a-okay, provided you aren't putting others down but instead pointing out objective truths.
      In regards to your second point, yup. Fuck those guys, but please realize they exist on both sides. There are ignorant fools on console as well as pc that will refuse to educate themselves on the pros and cons of other platforms. But I only wonder one thing, how exactly is pointing out a pro m+k has over controller (precision) a bad or elitist thing to do? Sure the people in this thread may not have been the nicest but does that really detract form their point?
      4 eh? That's pretty great man, brings back to when I three playing stars battlfront on the ps2 with my older brother, good times. And seeing how your paragraph talks about your gaming history, let's do this. Ahem, like I said, when I was three up until I was 9 I played the ps2 and GameCube, this moved to the Wii and ps3 and a year later the Xbox360. I spent nearly all my free time on these systems. Play a little ratchet and clank here, then some halo there followed by some super metroid on the Wii. Then, when I was 12 my brother bought me a copy of mine craft. From there it was a general progression until I got here, my humble pc, and my humble library. But you did make some interesting points here I would like to address, first off the community. I'm just wondering, have you had many interactions with them outside yt comments? Sure there are bad eggs just as there are on Xbox. But have you ever been to r/pcmasterrace? Have you ever been in a pc titanfall lobby, are a csgo lobby. Let me putt it this way, before I started playing csgo, I had 5 steam friends, after 90+. Sure you could say that was only one game but if csgo, said to be one of the toxic competitive fps games out there can have that sort of effect on me, then imagine what a game said to have a better community is like (spoilers:pretty fucking good). Don't knock a community you haven't participated in. And as for the hackers, not as bad as you'd think. While pc is indeed an open platform there are many many different ways of combating cheats, so no, it isn't some rampant problem. And finally, you'd be surprised at what you can run on old hardware. For example, I spent about $500 dollars on my pc when I first bought it. And believe it or not, I was able to play pretty much any game I wanted, new or old (I had a 770 and and ivy bridge I5). Sure, I have upgraded since then but that's the beauty of pc. I'm not locked to anything, yes I could've played all the same games I play now, just like how an Xbox will continue to play games in the future, but I decided what experience I was going to have, and I chose a better one. Btw the $500 dollar pc drastically outperformed the two current consoles.
      Anyways I do really enjoy this conversation so far, hope my point is clear as well. Best of luck comrade

    You really don't need a huge mouse at. Coming from someone with some solid of experience in Titanfall 2, I can say that you really only need 7-8 inches of space. The mouse you showed had more than enough space, and if you really need that much, then your sensitivity is probably too low. And seriously, if you turned off the enormous aim assist in TF2 on controllers than M+KB would beat it every time. Controllers rely on that huge crutch.

  • @michaelhaynescr
    @michaelhaynescr 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This is the worst argument. I don't mind people who want to play with a controller but your argument goes out the window with the whole "aim Assist" if you remove aim assist what is better a M&K or a controller? A lot of people would be really shock to know their aim is really bad it it wasn't for Aim Assist. at least with a M&K i know i have the precision not some background program partially making me do something.

    I have to agree with you. I got TF2 on PS4, and played for a couple of months, before getting to try it on PC at a mates place. I was utter trash with MnK, plugged in a PS4 controller and went to town. I was pretty surprised to be honest, but happy all the same.

    • @Cr33pysku11
      @Cr33pysku11 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's probably because if you use a controller on the PC version, you still get aim assist. You'll obviously do better if the game is aiming for you.

    • @wardog0086
      @wardog0086 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It's called aim "assist" for a reason. Because it assists you, not does it for you. Even with aim assist, MnK should be superior enough for it to be really tough.

While I just recently joined the "MasterRace" as they like to put it, I still use my Elite controller every chance I get. I'm simply not good with a mouse and keyboard and TBH the keyboard hurts my damn hands. I wish every game on PC supported controllers so I didn't have to be forced to use a input device that I personally can't stand. Now let the PC MR DBags come at me.

  • @derram0k
    @derram0k 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The difference isn't between games being designed specifically for a controller, it's about aim assist. Keyboard and mouse gives you no advantage over a controller if an fps has aim assist.
    As for the mouse pads, for casual players a regular mouse pad is fine. You can get both fine control and huge sweeps in very small space. What you're talking about, huge pads and low sensitivity, is for competitive players.

    If you say you are better with a controller in shooters it's only because of the auto aim thingy. That's the only reason. If you actually took the time and practiced to use a mouse you will realise how much better it is. I used to play on xbox 360 but after buying a pc and playing with mouse for couple of years I can't use controllers in a shooter anymore. It's just doesn't have the same precision and gets really frustrating

    i only have a pc no xbox or ps4. but i do use the xbox 360 controller for games like rocket league i dont use the controller for fps games but thats just because im more used to mouse and keyboard.
    the reason i did go to pc was because i got a lot of free parts from family so it was way cheaper i got a pc thats worth around 1100 euros for 550 euros
    and my previous favourite game didnt have any aim assist and was only on ps4 and pc
    and it was a pretty taxing game to run. like 2 to 19 fps drops sometimes on ps4(on my pc around 42 fps)
    my specs(in case somebody cares):
    i5 6600 8gb ram
    gtx 1060 6gb

    I have both an Xbox One and a gaming PC and I honestly enjoy both platforms. People who say that consoles are trash don't realize how much money consoles make. Without consoles, there wouldn't be as much financial incentive to make most triple A titles. PC sales account for a tiny part of overall sales for most games, so even though a game might look and run better on a PC, consoles are what make most games a good financial investment for developers. I'm just glad Respawn made Titanfall 2 practical and competitive for controllers on each platform so gamers like me can feel right at home no matter what accessory I'm using.

  • @asdas2x355
    @asdas2x355 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I dont find it to be quite true in your argument that a controller user will perform just as well when in PC. I also use controller on PC just because I like fps on controllers and I do really well. But it is also important to consider the skill difference between players in consoles and pc. From experience, the average PC player is much more skilled than the average players in consoles or even above-average, and I think the reason lies in the kb+m and controller difference. kb+m is definitely objectively better. Although that does not mean that the controller users do not stand a chance at all, as you have stated in the vid, the game has been optimized quite well to fit with controller as well. Its just that i think controller users will have to work harder to meet the same skill level as kb+m.
    i understand that your argument also includes that not all PC players have the ideal setup, but its less about the equipment and moreso on how the equipment is designed to be used. Even if a player's setup restrains his mouse movement to wrist only to aim and whatnot, that still has more control over the finger-only method that controller uses to aim.

    I mean yeah, if you match a player who is good at the game and using a controller vs a player who is bad at the game and using a M+K, then sure the controller will win. However, matching two people of equal skill against eachother will lead to the player with the M+K winning a majority of the time.

    Say what you will about the aiming and stability issues, you'll simply have a better time using a keyboard ssince you don't need to stop aiming in order to jump like you do with a controller, unless you claw which can give you wrist pains or an elite controller which is extremely expensive and will not last long at all.

      @@ToneyMo i dont mind that, but let controller players play with themselves (lol).
      Because this aim assist is actually as effective as real aim bot on pc. Or may be i just saw an actual cheaters, but anyways.
      Also, controller gives you some movement capabilities, that arent possible on KB&M and quite OP if you can master them. The same comes for KB&M (you can do some stuff that controller players cant), but those things are useless in usual mutliplayer, so controller is also better for movement.
      Summary: controller is just disgustingly OP against KB&M, and i dont understand why you can play against controller players while using KB&M.

    I have a small desk space with a small mouse pad and I'd much rather play Titanfall 2 with my keyboard and mouse instead of an Xbox controller. I personally find the mouse and keyboard better to play with rather than a controller. I played the Titanfall 2 tech test on my Xbox one and I was uncomfortable with the controller and I felt like I was being hindered by using it. But that's just me

      Tainted Knives I was using the default layout but that wouldn't have solved anything by changing it. My troubles were found in movement and accuracy with the controller which I found uncomfortable. I do like any game that I play better on my mouse and keyboard because I like the responsiveness, it's mostly my personal opinion because after playing on console for all my life and once I switched to PC last year I feel in love with the mouse and keyboard.

    as an example, i have made 4 loadouts based off of the main characters from RWBY, which was actually how i really got into using the cold war and the holopilot from Blake's loadout

    That being said being killed by the aim assist from a pad is very annoying when you see it kicking in (thinking the likes of eject kills). hackers, low player and hit registration (death behind a wall seems to be a much bigger issue compared to other shooters for me) count are far bigger issue.

    Good Video, good discussion.
    As a Titanfall PC Player, I actually play with a PS4 controller, Titanfall PC supports this by default. I know without a shadow of a doubt that I would fair terribly with KBM, purely because I spent the majority of my youth playing on consoles, it's what i'm accustomed it's what I'm comfortable with.
    That said, having played overwatch on PC where controllers are at an obvious disadvantage, it is refreshing to see Respawn allow such freedom to it's players and undoubtley as you have said in competitive play a controller will loose every day of the week and twice on sunday's.
    PC play in general, is just faster than console and using a controller in that environment and doing well, at least to me is impressive.

    So I've played with both input methods. I started playing with a 360 controller, as I did with TF1. I did just as well as I do with KB+M. My controller broke and I was forced to use KB+M. After a while I find that while I did terribly at first it was because the guns I playing. When I use KB+M I can't deal with some weapons like the alternator. I have to use guns like the volt. Anyway, I went back after a while because I bought an elite controller. It feels wrong. I feel like the controller is a lot slower and hinders my movement. I find I can't multitask anywhere near as well (i.e. wallrun and shoot) like I can with a keyboard and mouse. But that's just me.

    In Titanfall 2 in particular, there are advanced controller settings that allow you to customize the exact deadzone sizes and placements, as well as how fast your characters turns at any given amount of tilt, where those changes/gradients lie on the right stick, and even the sizes of the gradients themselves, as well as different sensitivities for hip/ADS. This allows you to effectively treat the diameter of the right stick as your "18 inch mouse pad" and the stick itself as any permutation of minor/major mouse movements at the same time. Coupled with 360 degree movement and analog of the left stick (vs 8-way always full jog WASD), I'm going to stick with my controller, even at tourneys.
    HOWEVER. With KB+M, more of your fingers are able to reach more keys, allowing for more and different combinations of inputs at the same time, and greater customization over what fingers govern what inputs. Titanfall 2 and shooters in general are far more than simply looking, moving, and aiming. But like I said, on the subject of Titanfall 2 in particular, I believe the enhanced right stick options mitigate the mouse's advantages.

    I think aiming with the mouse is a lot better but when wall riding around maps a controller joystick can do a diagonal movement whereas keyboard needs W and S or D which can be difficult to press naturally on a fast paced game like Titanfall.

    I have spent thousands of hours with a controller playing first person shooters. I personally prefer playing with a controller. But that's just my preference.
