Thanks. You explain so well and in such a relaxed way. Inspirational!

    Nice tutorial, many thanks.
However, you didn't explain how the new part gets integrated into the existing score.
When I repeat the procedure, the new part is displayed in its own separate window on the screen. However, it does not appear in the Full Score window.
Edit: after watching another YT video, I realised that I needed to use Home -> Add Instrument instead of Part -> New Part
Still not sure what the difference is.

A new part will echo an existing instrument. Say you needed an Alto Sax doubling French horn. You add a new part with the appropriate transposition settings. If you want a separate part in the score, you need a separate instrument, thus the add instrument. I know, it's confusing. I'm sure since this video was made there are changes to the way things are done in some of Sibelius.

My Sibelius doesn't have a parts menu and I can't figure out how to create them :(

I'm using Sibelius ultimate. The parts menu may not be available in other versions. If you can't see any menus in the ribbon there's a little arrow on the upper right that will allow you to see all the menus.

Select a part, press the W key to see that part. There is also a plus button toward the upper right that lists all parts. Once a part is displayed you can edit the bar numbers
