I've replaced battery in 13-inch MacBook Air, installed SSDs in iMacs and Mac minis, I've also replaced Touch ID buttons and cracked iPhone screens but I've never replaced the battery in my 12-inch MacBook before. This video gives me a sense of what's involved but it's not difficult. I've opened up my 12-inch MacBook just to see how it all works and also to give it a dusting. Thank you for this video.
Worked perfectly for me, with a battery purchased on ebay. Heads up: cutting into any of the elements of the old battery can easily start a fire... Thanks for the video.
I've followed the video and successfully replaced the Battery, so thanks for the info. It's a little tricky, and there's one screw that is of a Y head that is a bitch to het out, that said you can do this without complete removal of the motherboard. Allow a good hour, and make sure you have the right tools and a bit of an understanding what you are doing. Saved me buying a £1800 laptop again.
Many thanks for shearing the video .....if you put alcohol under the battery the glue go soft and it is easyer to take it out . i use this method on the A1502 and A 1398
Hi followed your video to replace the battery brilliant 👍🏻 only problem is that now i am not getting much life its more or less the same as the old battery >any ideas . thanks
Is one of the ribbons disconnected a keyboard connection? I followed this procedure and was super careful. I've replaced many iPhone screens successfully in the past. When I hit the power button, nothing happens, so I'm hoping it's a keyboard issue.
I changed my battery with the most cares i have and now what it does is crash when chime, like it chimes but then it turns off and does it like a thousand times
Hi Ellen. Do google search for "3mm Double Sided Tape Adhesive" Quite In-expensibe but this is what is being used and cut to size using a sharp bladed knife.
OMG.... why on Earth would I buy a laptop that is so difficult to repair? I'm used to laptops where the battery module just clips in and a replacement costs $50.
im using both this and an old macbook from early 2010s and i gotta say, while it is enjoyable to be able to fix a macbook by yourself with a low cost (they are pretty decent to use too), these news one are so fast and light it worths the difficulty

Do u actually have 2 disconnect it from the screen, in order to just change the battery? & Is the RAM soldered on 2 the 12" model?
Watching this made me wonder if I had to replace my speakers too..
Omg, though same thing. Replacing ipad speakers will be next
Very interesting and complete. The music stop at the beginning and that is great!

I like to spray/pour a small amount of ISO alcohol in the gaps to soften the adhesive on the glued in battery models (a1502, a1425, a1534 etc.).
Thanks this was a helpful suggestion.

Thank you my friend but i prefer to not spill any liquid inside machines
@@jrepair5543 is just a little also the alcohol wont damage anything as it is non conductive and in many cases it is use to clean logic boards too
@@Apple-Bay yap your right save alot of time as well if you use it
Great video! I ripped the LED flex cable as I was trying to open the MacBook, what do I need to do to replace it?

Great job, Do you know if tightening the screen hinge is the same way as MBA and MBP? I can't find any videos or guides.
Hi
The hinge in this model is not possible to tightening because is behind the glass of the screen.
So cool man ! But why didn't the charge cycles drop back to 0?
Because i use original used battery low cycles from spares machine aftermarket battery is not good choice so i preffer this way .
@@jrepair5543 Ok thank you man, I replaced mine, but now I have no song in the speakers and the jack .. 😅
@@FrenchMike.N check the ribbons right to lcd connector at logicboard.
@Michael Nikolaev I'm not sure maybe can find oem somewhere i prefer used with low cycles from donor machines.

Thank you sir I am from India
who the fuck cares about India
"do not try this if you dont have the right tools" says the guy using a deck of cards to remove a battery
My friend the card is the right tool if use any metal to remove it maybe see an explosion and fire.

Is it me or is there no sound?

Heat the back side of the case with a heat gun to release that glue.

32:29 что это за клей?
Какой-нибудь Е6000 или клей для макетирования мне кажется тоже подойдёт. Вопрос, а почему бы не двусторонний скотч использовать? Было бы практичнее.
I CANT SEE SHIT

those laptops are also extremely thick, heavy, and old
