Band teacher in MT here, thanks for the quick vid. I just moved to a new school and I'm going through the percussion equipment before classes start next week. They had a pillow case draped over the drum, and I've never seen that before so I put it away.

They put the pillow case to muffle the unwanted overtones, although it's more common to use a towel, I've never heard of a pillow case being used
