To Mr Hammond I was 9 years old when I first heard this song. I loved it! Now, at age 60 I still love it. I always wanted to go to California and try my talent if singing. I have not yet made it there. These days I am into writing and plan to take classes very soon in the fiction writing genre. At 60 I have noticed my vocals are not as good as when I was younger. I just wanted to thank you, sir, for writing one of the most beautiful songs as It Never Rains In Southern California. The music is beautiful and the lyrics are very heartfelt. You and your partner in this song made a beautiful gem that I am sure radios will still be playing after we have both Gone To Glory. God Bless you sir.
Funny how it is with iconic songs like this. Just him and a guitar, and it's still good. 20 seconds in, there's "that voice", and it's a joy to listen to. Thank you.
Wow , just amazing , we gotta be thanking this , after all these years that he still sings this song , he has the choice not to sing it no more , but look at him , singing it with a smile and all
One of the best songwriters ever and one of the best pop songs ever written. Just love the lyrics and music. Don't ever retire, Albert!! Best wishes from Mexico City.
I've grown up playing music in Southern California (Venice) and remember this song as a kid!💯 Now at 62🙄, I STILL aspire for that elusive One Hit Wonder!🙉 God bless you Sir.🙏 CHEERS!!!🥂🥳
Great song and great guitar playing his up and down strumming is excellent. I remember hearing this as a young kid in the seventies, great times back then. I sure do miss it and he still sounds great after all these years.
Thank you!!! That was so enjoyable to watch. Brings back old memories (good and bad) of my time in San Jacinto mountains. Thank you for the guitar lesson, I hope I can Master it.
Such an amazing and true song. I'm glad he played it for Clive Davis! It seems so curious that other songwriters and singers at first didn't like it. Mmmmmmm........
The weak part of the lyrics is the repeating lines in the last verse, "...don't tell them how you found me, don't tell them how you found me, give me a break, give me a break." I wrote what I think is a better line " Don't tell them how you found me, tired, cold and lonely. For goodness sake, give me a break."
Nah, fam. Appreciate, but, what he did there I think was good, not many words, not too much explanation, just shows emotional dissatisfaction and slight anger about the things and about himself, so I believe that he did a great job there at that delivery.
WOW QUE BIEN HABLAS INGLES QUERIDO AMIGO . JAJA ES BROMA YA SE QUE ERES MITAD BRITANICO Y MITAD ESPAÑOL . DIOS TE BENDIGA GRAN ARTISTA . UN FUERTE ABRAZO FRATERNO DESDE CULIACAN SINALOA MEXICO . GOD BLESS YOU MY BROTHER
It's a song that anybody who grew up during that time never forgets.
