In my country there is no sex ed and the chapters containing anything about reproduction and puberty are usually skipped by teachers in many schools mainly because how taboo it is. Luckily in my school, my teachers did not skip these lessons even though we had reduced syllabus in covid where these chapters were dropped. But having an understanding of how our genitalia works and how to handle and express our sexuality in a positive and healthy way is important, and I would have never learned about things like: Why erections are natural?, How to handle them?, Why consent is important?, Why are straight men attracted to women and vice versa?, Why are lgbtq attracted to the same gender as their biological gender? and so much more if videos like these didn't exist on the internet. Thank you for making this information available to everyone for free. This is really helpful.
Well said. I was also not taught any sex ed. It's stupid that politicians and schools think that teenagers aren't going to have sex just because they were told to. Actual education is essential for keeping people safe.
@@enki012I dont think they should tbh. Maybe 16+ and I know they won’t not have it if you just say don’t have it. Beautifully explained. Did you say there is a similar proceeds involving the clitoris? ? A video dedicated to the physiological mechanisms of coitus would be so interesting !
In evolutionary terms, the foetus always starts off as female until testosterone starts to take over then, when the foetus is born and becomes male then the clitoris has in fact become a glans. What women have in evolutionary terms is a vestigial penis. That is why we, as men have a perfect scar that starts on the scrotum and continues afterwards. Why, because that scar would have become the outer labia if we had been born females.
@Вaлepия Лeбeдeвa Embryos don't start out as female; embryos will become female unless male development is triggered. Embryos start out with undifferentiated genitals although they resemble female genitals more closely. The genital tubercle is what becomes either the penis or the clitoris later in development, it is much closer to a clitoris and thus doesn't require the same level of development. Embryos don't start out with vaginas either, the vagina starts out as the urogenital slit, it remains open in females but closes in males which leaves behind a scar on the penis and scrotum. Nevertheless, it is not a fully formed vagina even though it may resemble one.
@@AngelLoeza What the hell are you talking about? That doesn't explain anything. Also, many people are able to orgasm without any physical stimulation.

Random not fun fact: guys having too low estrogen levels compared to the average one for men is bad for your health and fertility, but having too much also negatively impacts those. It's like how too much sleep is really bad for you and too little sleep is as well. Most people know too little testosterone and too much is unhealthy, but most don't know that too little estrogen is also a concern for men, or even that such a thing as too little estrogen is possible for men.

It could once and for all answer that all important question of exactly how much space there is. So that women can STOP "belittling" those poor men by "Size" shaming them. After all its not the size of the worm that catches the fish, its how you wiggle it! 🤣
What students often confuse, which this video explains, is that it is the parasympathetic nervous system, or the rest and digest nervous system that leads to an erection. This is why it is possible to get an erection simply by being in a deeply relaxed state, such as getting a massage or sleeping. It is one reason it is possible to wake up with an erection.
It’s also the reason why people can’t “get it up” in stressful situations which does make sense in an evolutionary sense ‘cuz you really don’t want any blood being redirected to structures not immediately vital for getting the heck outta there when you’re being chased by a carnivore
@@waterunderthebridge7950 yeah, not a great time to be in the mood when a Sabertooth is charging after you lol Plus, it requires a great deal of energy expenditure that wouldn't be available during the peripheral activation that occurs during sympathetic arousal
That's funny because as a vet tech student, anatomy and physiology covered all of this except for ED, but we did cover afferent/efferent spinal cord (and obviously infer how damage could affect reproductive function). I believe we go into more depth over all these things because there's such a large variety of subfields we might find ourselves in right after graduation. Fun fact; certain animal species like cattle, sheep, pigs, deer, etc do not experience venodilation into cavernous tissue as a means of erection. Instead of blood the corpus cavernosa of the penis is filled with fibrous (fibroelastic) tissue. The penis is contracted into an S shaped flexure internally via a muscle group called the penis retractor muscles. To get an erection the male must extend the penis via relaxation of those muscles.
Videos like this are a get out of jail free card for fathers who are apprehensive about having the " talk" with their sons. You do a far better job than I ever could.

@@sharonbrown6595 Women always got well covered by male instructors, but the male anatomy really got dismissed in sex ed- now that was a joke, but often glossed over as something ordinary. But your talking about sexual satisfaction- well you have to talk to him and show him. The sad fact that in english speaking countries, proper sex ed is shockingly bad. Religion poisons everything in every way. Its acidic to knowledge and in regards to sex, it is the main reason sexual education has been mostly absent. The United States of Smmerica is not united at all, -from the crazy conservative religious clowns making decisions for every body else, from the political appointed- It is political and their educational greatly suffers educationally from it generally. Science- the only way forward is the first casualty. (A terrifying vast number of Americans believe myths like the Sky Daddy.) Dysfunctional pornography takes over along side the sky daddy afoot sex shame and 'education' with the free range education private 'projects' (religious) teaching and corporate private model screwing their children's future. You can blame them for porn level abounding for filling the holes left by poor ed, but it continues the abusive ignorance that it often exists but also to create the very poor perceptions, like misogyny and stereotypes toward women. (You note contraception takes a big hit with ignorant turds of belief in political control.) It stinks really but it's pretty boring too when one realises how plastic it is, but how plastic belief is as well. That's why they don't like real education- they lose power. This guy does a great job in showing the body, but I wish there was stuff that also showed how and why it's all evolved- like the mammalian nipple ridge that was forming on all of our bodies to our groin whilst in the womb. The tail, the vagus nerve that loops around the aorta, then to the voice box, the remnant of the third eyelid we all have -where the 'sleep' collects. -Oh, I think he does do this?
First of all, thank you for another educational video. You were talking about the scenarios that can cause an erection. I would like to ask about “morning erection” - what is causing this? Or random erection during puberty. Is it some kind of random activation of neurons because of hormons?
Thank you so much for explaining this wonderful natural process that God permitted in the male's human body with such professionalism. May God continues to give you wisdom to perform more videos like this 🙏🏻 🕊✝️
As far as spinal cord injuries goes, I think it’s extremely individual depending on where the injury is for the person and how severe, regardless of it being a complete or incomplete injury. I know someone who’s a C6-C7 quadriplegic and he’s a father of twins, twins who were conceived after his injury and without him and his partner having to resort to IVF, in other words, it was good old extra curricular activities in the bedroom that resulted in twins. But I also know people with significantly lower level injuries, who are or have really been struggling in that department, and you’d think someone with a lower level injury would have it easier than someone with a high level injury of the spinal cord. I do think it would be an interesting subject to talk more about though in a video like this, both for people living with SCI and their partners (and to hopefully leave people alone from the “does it work?” questions, you wouldn’t randomly ask an able bodied person such a thing, so why would it be ok to ask a person in a wheelchair?!)
Does he live in America's..no i actually want to say that most kids there don't know their biological father's.. May be the twins was the hardwork of someone else
I've always been super interested in sexual anatomy. I've heard about the anatomy of the penis, and even seen diagrams, but I could never fully wrap my head around it. seeing an actual cadaver really helped me cement it in my brain. I have actual considered becoming a sexologist one day, but I probably won't be able to get a proper education to become any sort of scientist at all, so I'll probably just be a freelance artist. keep up the great work!!
My respect to the cadavers that donated their bodies to science. Thank you I have learned a lot from your video's. My profession was in the medical field. I'm retired now. You are very professional at what you do. Sorry you had to go through this video being a man. Great job.
I have no idea how this pop up as a recommendation, but I'm glad it did. We'd never learned these things in school, unless we paid for a specific class. Very educational even though as embarrassed as to talked about this things. Love the video. 👍
Frankly, I don’t think this has to be required. Sure, how anatomy works is good but this is in far depth and I believe this is for the medical students not middle school and high school. This is a lot of information and like I said goes into far depth of things many wouldn’t even be able to understand unless you’re interested in the human anatomy all the way.
0:18 "You first have to understand how things are supposed to work inside of a human body before you can understand how things /aren't/ working." THIS. This applies to any kind of troubleshooting, not just medicine. I work in production of radar systems and often have to troubleshoot when something doesn't work properly, and train people to do so. One of the first things I do when training people is explain how whatever circuit we're working on works in detail, because the easiest way to figure out what is broken is to first understand how it works, so that when it doesn't work, you can deduce what would cause a particular function to not work properly.
Here's my take on the penis. When I was born, a Brooklyn, N.Y. hospital nurse asked my dad if he wanted me circumcised. He immediately replied, "No. He'll wear it off, just like I did." 100% true and I'm still workin' on it. My dad had a way with the English language. He had to quit school after the 8th grade, but read books and newspapers and was a highly skilled worker from 4 years in WW2 shipyards. He loved ocean fishing. I miss him. He was a kind and decent man with good street sense who worked hard, brought his paychecks home to Mama, was rarely drunk, and took good care of us. I wish I could ask him a thousand questions over beer today that I couldn't after he died.

How are you meant to learn what to do? Where are you from?
@@enki012I dont think they should tbh. Maybe 16+ and I know they won’t not have it if you just say don’t have it. Beautifully explained. Did you say there is a similar proceeds involving the clitoris? ? A video dedicated to the physiological mechanisms of coitus would be so interesting !
Yes, people with a clitoris can get erections as well.
They are homologous to each other so they are similar in this regards.
The penis is just a giant clitoris. So I'm guessing they both work the same way.

I suddenly feel a deeper connection with myself after watching this lol. How amazing our physiology is.
Not only possible but healthy. Average of four erectile risings overnight if I remember correctly.
It’s also the reason why people can’t “get it up” in stressful situations which does make sense in an evolutionary sense ‘cuz you really don’t want any blood being redirected to structures not immediately vital for getting the heck outta there when you’re being chased by a carnivore

(A terrifying vast number of Americans believe myths like the Sky Daddy.)
Dysfunctional pornography takes over along side the sky daddy afoot sex shame and 'education' with the free range education private 'projects' (religious) teaching and corporate private model screwing their children's future.

0:18 "You first have to understand how things are supposed to work inside of a human body before you can understand how things /aren't/ working."
THIS.
