I had it on the plan for this year... Unfortunately Covid-19 put a hold on it for now.

That was the small town of Yellow Pine, Idaho. Just north of the airstrip.

Need to tilt your camera a tad bit down.

I would, but it gives me nausea to see it like that. So I frame the shots how I like them.

Hi Cory, thank you for the video's. I have a question on your take off from the grass strip at the beginning of the video. Did you turn right after clearing the trees to enter a downwind so that you could make a 180 to get back to the runway in case of an emergency due to the rising terrain straight ahead? Also, are you using foreflight to navigate the mountain passes? How do you preflight the terrain prior to the actual flight? Sorry for the questions, probably suited better to your other channel, but this one made me think of the ADM skills that went into this flight.
    Thank you
    Tony

Two reasons for the turn after departure, one you got right, the other is that Johnson Creek is a one way airstrip and in case of arrivals I don’t want to be a conflict. When I had a Pitts, I always would turn 20 degrees after takeoff to allow for a return to the airport...
As for navigating canyons, I use Garmin. Also the rivers help. If there’s a river flowing down the canyon, it won’t box up on you.
