Slash was and is a universal guitarist. But G&R (Guns N Roses) broke so many barriers with this song (their first MTV/Top 40 hit). I adore the music of the 1970s. It's the music of my youth. But the 1980s/1990s was the music of my adolescence. These guys changed the scene before Kurt Cobain and Seattle grunge came along. The 1980s was amazing for the change to newer genres. But a lot of amazing music came from the 1900s and early 2000s.
you all prolly dont care at all but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot the password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me.
Slash likes to be strong silent guy, but, don't think for a second his extraordinary skill has went underappreciated in the USA. I am 54 and remember their first radio airplay. Slash is definitely one of the guitar legends boys.
When “Appetite for Destruction” came out everyone bought it and played it to death, it was and still is that good!! Fast forward to their album “Use Your Illusion II” react to the song “You Could Be Mine” 🔥🎶🎸🔥
I was 11 when the Welcome To The Jungle Video hit MTV. I lived in the Bible belt and there was widespread belief that heavy metal was satanic. My parents were religious, so I had to sneak to listen to Motley Crue or ACDC. None of the metal songs I heard shocked me like the this song and video did though. It literally scared the shit out of me. There was just something different, more authentic, about it. Even as a preteen, I had a sense that Motley Crue was playing dress up, but those dudes meant it.
@@natescott3832 G n' R weren't just party boys playing dress up, they were hard-drinking ass-kickers, which is reflected in Appetite for Destruction. I think Pretty Tied Up is seriously overlooked with these reaction videos.
@natescott3832 now that you said it. I just realized how creepy the entire thing is. The visuals, the dark room, these unfriendly-looking outfits, the long messy hair, the punk dance, the guitar shreddings, the violent lyrics, the broken voice of the singer, the grunting noises, the chaotics shown in the TVs, even the background of this band,... everything looks haunted and messed up in this single music video. I hope you didn't get any nightmare after seeing it when you were 11
Live Performance: ´ ´Civil war´ live in Paris; ´Estranged´ and ´You could be mine ´ live in Tokyo; ´Paradise City´ live at the Freddie Mercury Tribut Concert & ´knocking on heavens door´ from the same concert ´welcome to the Jungle ´ live at Tokyo (Anything from the tokyo concert(1992) is amazing )
I don't totally agree with you. Tokyo on many songs the sound is very poorly mixed and the tempo too slow. For Freddy Mercury the performances are nice and rock n roll but Slash plays these solos in a very simplified way. If the Bro don't know the final paradise city solo for example, they won't really see it at the Freddy Tribute. For Tokyo the versions of Estranged and Knock they are yes. For Welcome the Ritz 1988 version is perfect. You could be Mine live Florida 91 is superb. Civil War in Paris is a good version, but I still prefer Chicago 92.
"Civil War" ONLY studio version, those live versions kinda suck from sound side and it doesn`t give you perfect feeling of this song, same with "Estranged"... I only agree about "Paradise City" tho
Such an iconic, perfectly executed song. Axl is the ultimate performer. Slash brings the goods...this ROCKS! I CAN NEVER HEAR THIS ENOUGH! Next please react to "Patience", or "Night Train", "Civil War", and the comical, "I used to Love Her. Keep Rockin'!🔥❤🤘
This was the last real 'bad boys of rock and roll' - they were cool, they lived the life of drugs and sex to the limit and they sang about it! In the late 80's and very early 90's they were the BIGGEST band in the world, but drugs, alcohol and in-fighting in the band between Axl and the rest of the group caused them to implode! The story of a true ROCK and ROLL band. They are legends! thanks for your review and keep smiling!🤘😃
Let's take a moment to be grateful that Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy, Steven, Matt, Dizzy and Gilby are all still alive. It's a fucking miracle with how hard they partied.
@@rexoid0800 But were they "bad boys of rock and roll" like GnR were? I mean, GnR really had some out-of-control concerts....one where someone was killed. They were banned from some venues because of what went on at the concerts. I don't remember Oasis as being "bad boys".....'course I'm getting older and my memory isn't what it used to be.
It may be controversial (and certainly a matter of opinion), but they did a couple of covers that I think were better than all other versions: Live and Let Die, and Knocking on Heaven’s Door.
I'm sooo glad y'all didn't leave us hanging on "Brother in Arms". What a banger to end the weekend with .. Thumbs Up guys. I couldn't click on play fast enuf .. was excited to see y'all get to this one YES👍🏼👍🏼 Keep up the amazing work .. loving the BroActions as always. Peace out✌🏼🤘🏼💞
In rock, Slash is your guy. Blues, well Texas blues, Stevie Ray Vaughan is a MUST! Y’all are taking me back to some of the best years of my life! Thank you! 💜
I remember listening to this driving from Boston to NewYork for a RedSox Yankee game in the Bronx..Slash is great but GunsnRoses only put a few albums..Slash plays in other bands so check it out..Slash is a legend
For sure check out “Paradise City”, you will LOVE it! It’s the studio version song with live performance so you get to see what that’s like and you really get some great Slash solos. Axl’s voice goes all over the place. Lots of style changes in it too! I guarantee you will love this song.
"coma" its a masterpiece from so many perspective, the lyric, the transition, the voices and the guitar solo. and "civil war" is also a greatest song. lyrically one of the greatest songs of all time, and 3 incredible guitar solos
Slash....I'm 50 yrs old so music is what I was raised on. I was 16 yrs old when these guys hit the scene with this song n the rest is history! This is my favorite band from that era n Slash is my favorite guitar player. The concerts in the 80's werent concerts...they were parties! You guys gotta check out Tesla...What You Give, Edisons Medicine, Love Song....excellent band!
Guys if you want to hear a "scream" try Audioslave - Cochise, & hear Chris Cornell scream. Fantastic band, song & worth a listen. Stay safe & stay strong....

Guns N' Roses's "Appetite for Destruction" is one of the best debut albums ever released in the entire history of the planet Earth. In terms of debut albums that triggered a general shift in the tonal direction of rock of music in recent history I put "Appetite for Destruction" right up there with Van Halen's self titled debut album.
Great band and song! I’ve seen them like on their Use Your Illusions tour in the early 90s, they were a few hours late and got boos coming on the stage but when they finished everyone was going mad with joy!!
I decided to comment here since It's your most recent video and more likely that you'll see it. You guys should really give some attention to Gary Moore's work. The way his guitar screams and cry is very unique. I recommend starting with "Still got the Blues". It is really amazing.
Slash is amazing! He is definitely one of the best! And still plays with the same level of energy. He’s never stopped touring or making music. Listen to anything from the Show at the Ritz ‘88. Also you have to listen to Paradise City the official version. Keep in mind that in all this earlier stuff, slash is playing so fucking amazing and was strung all the way out on heroine, and didn’t get sober till much later. What’s crazy is he played with a level of perfection even while he was high. 🤯🤯
Appetite For Destruction was my first ever CD at 12. When my mom came home from work and heard Welcome To The Jungle, she said it was a nightmare. She went, fuck no. I'm getting him his own stereo so that he doesn't have to blast this shit in the living room and drive me crazy hahahaha.
Slash is a vg guitar player, but Izzy stradlin is always overlooked.. what they are playing is simple blues pentatonic. just very well played with great energy and sound.
I first heard this song in a Clint Eastwood movie (forgot the title) and I was like "what a freakin' dope song that one was". There was no internet back then so I had to borrow a vhs tape of that movie after just to see who the artist was in the credits and immediately bought the album.
Slash is my favorite. He's a pretty bluesy player, but he can play anything with anyone. This is "Rocket Queen" from their legendary show at The Ritz: th-cam.com/video/tm_2eh9RabU/w-d-xo.html
This is my high school song. Our mascot is a lion and we have always been extremely good at basketball so this got played a lot lol. You were in our house, the jungle.
Axl Rose, for the longest time had the widest range for any vocalist. He has sung notes that would span from the second-lowest octave in scientific pitch notation, F1 on the low end (There Was a Time - from the album "Chinese Democracy"), to a B flat 6 on the high end(Ain't it Fun - from the album "The Spaghetti Incident?"), and sometimes above it.
Rose has a lower baritone than Barry White, and can reach higher notes than Tina Turner and Beyoncé even Mariah. That's pretty much 6 octaves.
Everyone gives Slash love and for good reason but don't forget that Izzy is doing a lot playing rhythm guitar giving the song a lot of its meat, same as Malcolm Young did for AC/DC.
