hey buddy is this a dam built to protect the house along the canal from king high rising tides ? can clean sea water flow in the canal to clear the water or is it always brown. 🤔
This is just a spill way to flush out the water. Boats use the gate to go in and out through the canals. Depending on the weather conditions the water is usually fairly clean without any rain stirring up the water.
It is one of the first man made canal estates in southeast Queensland made back in the 1990s. The water level was raised above sea level and is access is controlled with a lock and weir system. Likely it provides a safe haven for small fish from predators like bull sharks and it isn't exactly a spot you would think to go fishing.
my nana lives in Noosa waters and I'd never thought of fishing at the lock. I'll be chucking a line out next visit.
Nice fishing Lads. Plenty of cod.
