6 years strong here and still learning and growing every day….words can’t describe how my life changed once I started embracing these principle. The key is to never give up, and get up stronger after you fall..
I also started meditating when the Beatles were advocating it, when I was a vegetarian. But, from my research, I think that the meditative state, the alpha state, is our normal, natural state of mind, versus having the faster beta waves of anxiety or the slower theta waves of depression. The reason we're not in it, and need to meditate or do yoga to get into it, is our current diet and various toxins and pathogens. Since I went back to eating the foods of my ancestors, mainly meat soups and stews, eggs, fatty fish, full-fat goat dairy, a little bean soup and rye bread, and a little fruit, my mind is clearer and calmer than ever before. This is pretty much everyone's experience on a ketogenic diet. In other words, we don't have to evolve into some higher beings, just calm down naturally, like our ancestors did before they started eating grains, sugar, alcohol, nuts, coffee, and chocolate, which feed stimulating pathogens. Try it-you'll be amazed!
I'm glad Ray practices Transcendental Meditation, and there are many beautiful things in this video,, especially his absence of the reactive ego, but he is not a teacher of Transcendental Meditation, and some statements are not accurate. In TM practice, one does not push thoughts away, and one does not wrestle with thoughts. One practices TM to have valuable thoughts after meditation, not during meditation. They may come during meditation, but one is taught how to deal with valuable thoughts in meditation when one learns. The photos of various poses and environments imply that posture and environment are important or required, they are not, other than sitting comfortably and closing the eyes, for TM practice. It was mentioned going away from good ideas is not easy. Transcendental Meditation is based on effortlessness, and the experience of effort is addressed when learning, and in free check ups later on. The photos of people practicing meditation are not related to TM practice. All that's done in TM is sitting comfortably with eyes closed.
some research shows that TM caused mental breakdowns even suicide. Why could this happen? thanks for the information. you can google, "the adverse effect of transcendental meditation". I am considering finding a tutor for meditation, but I need to know how to tell that he is the right one
Mr. Ray dalio the 2nd "you" you are speaking about is your "divine self" (soul) and the 1st "you" is the ray dalio as a body (animal body which has all the description of anger, insecurities. harmones, etc)

Meditation is its own reward.
Ray seems like such a wonderful human. Beautiful energy.
Ah I hate it when the interviewer keeps interrupting the speaker. Questions can always wait until the other person finishes talking
This is a wonderful interview, thank you for that. BUT: Please don't interrupt Ray Dalio when he is developing his thoughts. Thank you.

Can anyone point me to the full first interview?
