The biggest influence is Balming Tiger. He did the album because the leader of that group told Namjoon that he is a man of contradictions and he would love to make an album with him reflecting those feeling. The team of Balming participated in most of the songs
@@SleepDeez I only knew about them because RM did a collab last year called Sexy Nukim (you should check that one). Since then I listen a bit to their music and they are crazyyy. It’s a collective of rappers, writers, producers, etc. Songs with some jazz influence, let’s say: Just Fun!, Up! and Pigeon and Plastic. All have videos. The MV for Pigeon and Plastic is a mix with Buriburi, a funny song
I agree. It feels like this album was the goal and his prior albums were the different steps he had to take before he could get here. All of those albums were important for what they needed to accomplish in getting his vision out to the world too. It's awesome.
As someone mentioned, during Indigo promo, he indicated he had already been working on this. Not just that, but he had moved on so much his mind had already put Indigo behind him. He said what he was doing was so new it would blow everything out of the water. (This is all paraphrase from the general feeling his live gave me back then.)

This entire album is beautifully done, from collaboration, the lyrics, his delivery, the instruments, is so so amazing. He thanked Big Hit and everyone that helped him. He said he did feel much better after finishing this album. He love BTS and everything but, sometimes he have to endure so much, people talking about him and the members even when he was out having a drink. All the malicious comments about him and false interpretation and distortion of everything he does or says, was just too mugir him , plus going through so personal stuff, was just too much for him. Like how he said once that, he can’t make people like him and people believe whatever they want to believe, doesn’t matter if you say the truth. Thanks. A lot of fans don’t appreciate RM’s talented, only real artist do.

I felt like his life, emotional and musical experiences finally synced up, he's reaching the musical vision he's been striving to put out! Really felt that too! Agree, 35 mins of just great music! That’s exactly where RM wanted to be, the album he wanted to make all along. Indigo was relatively restrained even tho it is good. I’m so glad too that he took his time, and had just enough time to complete it before enlisting for his MS. Yep, this needs to be on vinyl. Wondering what you can do to get it nominated for the Grannies? My fav is Around the world in a day, but all tracks coming up close. 💜

My only "complaint" about this masterpiece is REALLY wishing Sogumm sang along with BJ on Domodachi. I feel like that part could have been exalted by the two counterpoint voices together.

They have been releasing all the solo albums on vinyl! We are up to DDay (up for pre order dropping next month bath I think) so I’d expect it on the drop schedule for Q1 2025 or late this year. Domodachi is my initial favorite but every track is amazing amd it’s written to glow song to song.
I second this mention! That thing is a beautiful meeting of brilliant minds and mutual admiration. I loved that Pharrell was so enthusiastic he was sitting on the edge of his seat leaning towards RM most of the time. They came up with questions and angles the other had never been asked about before. And Wow are that man's knees shiny! 😮 If he _ever_ drops his Phriends, vol 1 album (he said 2024), we're expecting a collab of some sort with BTS. It got hyped in '22 and I think a lot of people have forgotten with all these distractions. 😅
