*Chanel Exclusifs vs Dior Privee. Chanel is definitely up there and one of my favorites, but they also have some really boring stuff in the Les Exclusifs. Not trying to defend Dior or anything, because they are dying out quickly, but Chanel has that refinement because they only play it safe and chic. That’s their style and I can’t complain about it really, I love it. For that reason, I don’t feel like it’s fair to compare the old Dior Privee’s before they ruined them to Chanel’s line.
More like the downfall of the whole industry. For years now , fragrances all very poor performing and skin scents soon after you apply them. What a waste.
I agree, also goes for their regular range of fragrances, going down, if not already gone down fast for me and right now I'm done with Dior! Chanel, guerlain and Hermes tend to be my go too for higher end 'regular range' fragrances.
Great video I have become a fan of Fredrich Malle because of your videos. I have Moon& Musc Ravageur next purchase will be French lover...and Bleu De Chanel it used to be my signature scent.
@@usmellsgood Kristo helped me also in selecting some. I asked him if you took him out for tacos yet lol.i also said if I came up to Toronto again I would bring Chicago pizza to you guys.could you give me some more recommendations of other fragrances that I should get.
The creepy thing about Santal noir I read(I have yet to smell it myself) is Demachy actually worked for Chanel for a time long ago and that period was infact when egoiste was created and released.
Jeremy Hinze I keep hearing this Demachy/Chanel connection rumour without coming across any hard facts. He couldn’t hold a candle to either Polge and not competent enough to be on any Chanel payroll.
@@usmellsgood I believe he worked with or under Jaques Polge, sheldrake also made some scents for Chanel before going to serge lutens full time, you're correct tho Demachy couldn't hold a candle to the Polge's at least not Jacques anyway.
@@usmellsgood 🤣🤣 your gonna get a kick out of this. Proof isn't so hard to find I just researched his biography and on wikipedia it says he graduated from perfume school in France and joined CHANEL where he was a director of research and development of perfume or something of that nature for upwards of 28years 🤷♂️ No shit, check it out.
Purple Oud is a 7 out of 10. Very wearable whilst also being a little off-kilter. I get a lot of mandarin and a way toned down variety of the oud used in Oud Ispahan. Way more subtle than either Oud Ispahan or Leather Oud.
I'm wondering what you think about Balade Sauvage, I really been debating whether to get it or not and really want to hear what you have to say about it.
We have very different tastes, clearly, but one of my all time favorite fragrances is Thé Cashemire. It’s not complex, but it’s not that ethereal, it has excellent performance and longevity, and I just love it. It’s just balanced and pleasant
Ever since Fahrenheit it seemed like Dior tried to push the boundaries. I know you don't the Homme line but they were pushing the boundaries then too. Seems like Demachy wanted complete control over each fragrance they released or kept. They shouldn't have marketed Mitzah to women. Demachy made some good fragrances but they were too hard to find. I need to look into Chanel because Dior is terrible now.
U Smells Good Great, I’ve got around 70ml left in my bottle, should last me a good while. Considering offloading my 200ml Sycamore EDT and buying a smaller EDP bottle and possibly Bois d’Argent. Would love to see a review of Vetiver when you can.
i've always loved dior vs chanel and used to see chanel play catchup. now it's just so sad to see how dior shit itself with horrible disgusting fragrances that are people pleasers with no character
I have to say, Dior is a complete joke of a brand. Why should i buy into their stuff when they dont even believe in their fragrances. Definitely a bad image what they did after 2014

Love to see and listen to your explanation my brother. Please keep up the fantastic work. Andy from Berkeley
It is interesting that South Africa has practically all of the exclusive line in stock. Dior's overall self-sabotage is breaking my heart.

FRAG GUY when you’ve been around long enough to witness the changes it’s hard not to notice.
Very good and nuanced round up starting from bashing/critiquing to ultimately appreciating the house in the end. A nice twist. Thumbs up!
Going with Fahrenheit edt as I head out the door... Spray, lots..Be well everyone. Steadfast, E!
:O 👍
I still love wearing Leather Oud when its chilly out..in fact I think LO is my fave in the line..but Im kind of a carnal animal..lol....Bob
Robert Perricone I love your favourite as well!

Robert Duncan great choices!

From my understanding a lot of the private line that will be discontinued worldwide, will be exclusive in the Paris boutiques
Bradley Stroup that’s my understanding as well but doesn’t make it any easier for the consumer.
Was just binge watching your old videos and boom you drop a new video. 🤘

Purple Oud is just a glorified Encre Noire unfortunately.
Really? It reminds you of Encre Noir? Another lack of inspiration from Demachy, how did this dude get thru life?

CLS63AMG WAGON I’m really looking forward to wearing it in the spring and with some heat I believe will liven it up.
Yup you nailed it no point in smelling unique if the scent isn't good
Could you review Eau De Magnolia by Fredric Malle? Cheers
I really like New Look 1947. What are your thoughts on Grand Ball?
Glad it’s back, I wasn’t ready to move on. I bought four because of you!!!
Danielle Screen Oh wow lol, which four did you pickup?
You bought 13 bottles of Maison Christian Dior last month... Jesus. Fucking. Christ. Whats the point? It's madness.
This house has gone down the shitter... better give them a few thousand bucks to satisfy my compulsions....

just had a first impression of the new Guerlain Patchouli Ardent, reminds me of oud essentiel at the mid and dry down.
oh nice, I'm looking forward to that one
What Eugenious think of patchouli imperial?
PI has slight similarities to Coromandel, but i would not call it a copy in the slightest. Its much better to me
Have you tried the Dior Vetiver? I reckon you’ll like that.
Sean Williams I have and it’s fantastic and currently manifesting a new bottle.

The Sauvage bottle/lid is the same as the prive bottle/lid. Never noticed til recently, cost cutting

Spinazzola I disagree. The bottles are some of the best in the business.
