I BOUGHT A TTR250 STREET LEGAL I WAS WONDERING WHAT ARE MAIN THINGS ILL NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO OR MAINTAIN MOSTLY.. MINES BURNING SOME OIL AND A LITTLE SMOKE ID LIKE TO FIGURE IT OUT
lol every single TTR250 burns some oil in the world ha ha. Kind of common. If you do really want to fix it, you will most likely need to do a top end. But if it has good compression, I would just leave it alone. As long as you are not going through an entire quart a day or something. I would check your air filter inlet as well make sure no dust and a good seal. motors tend to burn oil when dust and particles get in
First the TTR is not a DS bike it's a trail bike and it sells used for as low as 1000 I just sold one for that and it was a 8 out of 10. Off road the TTR will kill the Kaw on the road the Kaw will kill the TTR
There are tons of TTR250 that are DS ready actually, it was actually a very popular time and still is as in my opinion, a dualsport converted TTR250 is the best thing out there. I dont think no other bike compares, not even the DRZ400. If im not mistaking, europe already has them as street legal motorcycles. Ive been searching for a TTR250 for the longest, they sure dont sell that low around here. Usually 3k to 4k because they are popular around here. And the TTR250 kills the KLX250/300 on road. I have a KLX I know. 6th gear on the KLX is almost useless and the TTR250 has way more power and pull than the klx300
It seems he favored the TTR250 more than the KLX300, besides the "abuse" his rentals goes through and finding parts. I cant speak for that since I would never rent out my bikes. I have a KLX300 and its given me 0 issues and have about 10k miles. My buddy has a TTR250 and now I want one, but small things here and there actually did break off while we were trail riding. nothing major, but still small things.

I strongly disagree with your opinion! The TTR is a much better bike than the Kawasaki!
