Thank you for posting all these videos. You are my 18 month old's favorite. She watches your cow videos every single day without fail. I even enjoy them since you have such great herd management and farm practices.
Another productive day on the ranch. I am consistently amazed by what is involved in raising livestock. The knowledge base must be vast. You were made for this, Tyler. Good job.
In our new working corral we put our table on heavy duty strap hinges attached to a panel. we fold it out when we are working cattle then when we are sorting we can fold it back up out of the way. just a suggestion and it works here!
Hi, I am not into farmer physically, but that was what I was thinking he should build too. That was the first thing that pop into my head when he mentioned a table.
Love watching the pigs grow, they sure enjoy the new space, and yes they can be so destructive. Enjoy watching Callie and Bellie play. Interesting vid as always! God’s blessings FT and family!❤❤❤
Farmer T. I'm not a pig farmer, but your wanting to have the pigs wallow in a particular place gave me an idea. How about if you put a sprinkler, or a fountain, where you want them to wallow and put a timer to operate it 5 minutes our of every hour (or such)? They should love the shower. My cattle would if I had a source of water where I would want it.
Amazing how the geography location makes so much difference to the weather. At Luthi Ranch, they’re dealing with snow and freezing temperatures for over half of the year.
Mine respect my Gallagher S30 box as well. I have a video coming out in a couple days that when I’m rotating them I pull the rope in front of them and lay it on the ground and they would not cross it LOL. They all walked down to where the end was and walked around it 🤣. They are some hot boxes I love mine.
@@mea3665I would say artifact in terms of his grandpa or neighbors created the space specifically for cattle whether it be for steers or a combination of steers and heifers for grazing . . . Historically it’s been there for that purpose.
Another interesting clip, Tyler !! You certainly have some happy piglets with their new space. Little Boy i definitely growing into a BIG boy and is looking quite "buff". He should keep the girls happy when they're in season !! LOL !!
So much thinking!! And there are people who consider farmers/peasants as not having to be very clever (like they think of knitting ladies/grandmas). 😅 Just not true! A farmer is an allround and very demanding job for the clever ones. Such as grandmas knitting. That is what came into my mind listening to and watching Tyler. Well done and good luck with this job! Thanks for the diverse video!
Loved loved LOVED this longer video!!😂🎉🎉😜 Grant job, Tyler! The plans for the working corral sound good! Looking forward to it! Boy has Little Boy gotten big!!😮🤎
Very good FTR. Quality video. Love to listen to you brainstorming these projects. Can’t to see this one get built. Rational and safe plan to prefabricate the necessary components. Little Boy is ginourmous. Give us glimpses of the pigs so we can follow that development. 5.0 production.
Your smart to be cautious about welding around your barn. We have to cut back on our activity on our property from June-October. thanks for the watch. Emerald Empire
About the cow respecting the not live fence. I think it tells you your cows are not experiencing any feed pressure. With all the green grass on the other side. They would have pressed through fence if hungry
Prairie State Seed makes a 7-Bar 20′ freestanding heavy duty cattle panel that I think would be a very good design to look at for the heavy movable fence you want near the Arrowquip.
Tyler, The gate closest to Airoquip could have a welded Marine Boat Cleet on top...Attached to post as you described would prevent cows from moving it with HD Rope to use.
Would a removable post fit into your plans? Im thinking of the ones that have a receptacle in the ground - our parks department uses them for walking paths, allowing parks vehicles to access the path but not random drivers.
I was thinking the same thing. Like having a 2" square tube in the ground that a post on the gate slides into and "locks" to hold it where you want it but it isn't in your way near the squeeze shoot when it is out of the way.
Those piglets sure look happy. Would it be worth it to add a shade structure as part of the working area renovation? Might help during those hot days, if it isn't too much trouble to do.
When I was much younger before retirement I was a multitasker, go getter, work minded and so forth. Now I am old, ill and painful and all that makes me just plain lazy.
I feel the same as you. But I have learned to accept that I'm not as young as I used to be, and that growing old can be done gracefully and patiently. I bet you worked darn hard in your younger days. I wish you well. From Paul in Ireland.
@@PaulMoloneyAudio Yep, I had visions of becoming the V.P. of Finance in Residential Real Estate. Found out that my body was betraying me with everything ails me. Acceptance is the key. Enjoying life in this single beautiful moment.
What if you found some good used roofing tin like your grandfather did when he built your hay barn and build a small roof over the aeroquip. This would give you some shade when you are working out there and protection from the elements for the squeeze in the winter months.
Well there's always some new project. The thing I like about this one is you have given your wife and daughter the privilege of not having to help in that area. A man-gate is only for men.😅 You all have a great weekend. Love this channel.
Could you put wood temporarily between the new post and the hay barn to protect from sparks? Just curious. You sound like you’ve got it all figured out. Hope you have a great weekend.
I don't know what they're called. Maybe a stile put it's 4 posts in a V shape you can walk through and the cattle can't. I'm too fat for one to work but worth looking in to. No hinges or maintenance.
Tyler, a "guy" said that livestock farmers remove nutrients/minerals from the cattle's diet one month before butchering to increase weight gain. The loss of nutrients causes the cows to over eat and pack on weight. Therefore humans need to ensure taking approximately 60 nutrients for good weight management. Is there truth to this from your perspective?
I’ve never heard of anyone doing that. Seems if you cut out nutrients and minerals the animal would lose weight and all the feed would go out the back end if you catch my drift. I can tell you for certain, I don’t do that. I wouldn’t even know how.
I have a couple questions dealing with your cows. Is there a reason you don’t vaccinate for pink eye or use fly tags in their ears. I’m not trying to say you are doing anything wrong, I love your videos and your cows (especially buddy). I am from northern Minnesota and farming is a lot different than how you do it. Not right or wrong just different. I was just wondering why you don’t.

The name of the steer pasture has value as an historic artifact.
Historic Artifact ? Don't think so ! Definition?

We like using PEX to our pig nipples. It holds up better than water hose.
Great idea. I wish my husband could fabricate things like you do!
That’s a good idea. Everything holds up better than garden hose!
The pigs are sure enjoying their slop (i.e. food).
The cows and bulls seem to be enjoying there stay at the upper pasture.
Always interesting, thank you.

You could get the sodak mat for the pigs water nipple area

I thought about making a freestanding panel for that spot. Problem is the ground drops off right there so it would never stand up straight
God has sure blessed you.

Happy pigs, good corral plans.❤❤
Could you get a weld blanket. It looks like you could use it often.
Use a moving blanket. Screw it to the wall of the barn and wet it down. Prevent sparks from getting in there.
