The ending would have been PERFECT. If El and Noah both kissed at the kissing booth and get back together. Noah accepts the job offer in LA and start a family like Flynn did. That would have been an end of an era. Plus a great movie where it could represent that whether if we choose our career over our loved ones at the end our love for each other finds back its way .
It make the ENTIRE MOVIE amazing. Cuz in the bucket list it’s funny. With Marco it had drama. Forgiveness with that part. And it would be good cuz with Linda it could have also shown the future with elles dad and Linda.
That's the beauty of the plot, that's what makes this different from all those sweet pretty happy endings, leaves us with a thought that if they're meant to be they'll end up being together same as in real world we might not end up with our Elle or Noah.. I hate growing up watching fairytales.. happy endings..when in reality nothing happens..
I guess the perfect ending would have being if Elle would have gone to the kissing booth and sat on the same chair as she did before to start a new chapter and then the noah appeared again and kissed her.
I kinda liked the ending, it didn’t end like other teen romance movies where the girl and the guy get together near the end, it showed their successes in the end and their happiness even if they weren’t together
I think if were being honest we expected the movie to end like how they ended "To All The Boys" which went in a completely different direction than I thought and even though that was realistic and common, I still loved how it feels as though they will come back together.
They weren't going to stay together because its part of life this movie, they made it reality most people in high school don't stay together and its okay you have to fine yourself first that takes a long time you learn so much and I think its a good way to end it

They were together for 4 years in Suriname, she left to study in the Netherlands and broke up with him. Very stupid, just like Rachel. But u never know, they will maybe end up back together.

If Elle hadn't given Lee a reality check on how spoiled he was, he wouldn't have grown in college and he and Rach definitely wouldn't have gotten back together so it's nice to see their engagement came first....their schools were closer after all.

The way the ending was its noah falling inlove with elle again and the music when hes at the top off the steps its romantic and read between the lines they get back together they were too young but with the six year jump they have grown up and now is the time for them to fall in love again marry and have kids and its nice when they have a bike ride at thee end

The ending where he looked back, I think signifies that he's not the same guy anymore. And that he'll do whatever he wants to as well. We all know that Elle wants him to look back!! To her, Marco was a great friend...someone she could talk to about the Noah and Lee drama. The earring was the only time she didn't trust him and even then, if they'd both talked about it instead of trying to avoid hurting each other a lot could have been avoided. He didn't give up on her. When he realised she picked Harvard because of him, he ended things so she could do what she wanted. Like he said to Lee, he'd always look out for her. If she had gone to Harvard for him and not for herself he knew she'd resent him down the line. And Mrs Flynn and the admissions lady pointed out to her that she'd been making her decisions/answers based on what others wanted. When Noah found out what she'd be studying he knew it was the perfect fit for her. I'd have just liked to know that Marco's New York moonshot worked out

The thing is: love isn’t always enough .. it’s true. Ugly truth. Sometimes people move on separately and find their way back to eachother later in life. Sometimes we are too busy with our own minds and desicionmakings, that we simply can’t bring up the energy Someone we love deserves. You won’t understand that until you experience love and hurt. I think the ending made the whole trilogy very special because it doesn’t have that tipical “high school movie”-ending, everyone was expecting and maybe hoping for. The third movie and ending made the movie way more realistic . It still is a beautiful movie with deep connections and the ending didnt show Elle & Noah mad at eachother . They had their last scene where they still had so much love for eachother and Butterflies. They arranged a “date” and they had it. The ending is cute in my opinion. it leaves us with some sort of open ending but don’t you see them going down a road together in future?..:)
