Those who are part of the gentrification largely segregate themselves and do nothing for their low and fixed income neighbors. The separation between rich and poor in Lake County is one of it's defining features. The poor are totally disenfranchised, unrepresented and abused. The wealthy are insular, insincere and often openly hostile. County government is tailored toward easing or ignoring regulation for monied interests and is a brutal police-state for the poor. Lake County is the Bulgaria of California. Welcome!
I've lived in lake county since childhood and I couldn't agree more with this analysis. Ive often called it the county California forgot, the place is so starkly divided between it's poor and it's rich, the majority of economic activity is through large, out of state businesses which keeps money from flowing inside the county itself. Small, fenced off, rich communities are littered across vast areas of exploited people, degraded homes, and ignored systemic issues like drug addiction and crime. I mean my point of view is limited by being among the worst off, and I still love the place I call home, but I can't help but see the bigger problems at play here.

I used to live in upper lake it’s very fun! On do you and you wary first I believe we have Wild West days! I live in Texas now but it was definitely a regret. I wish I still lived there.

I live in lower my advice is forget the cops are in the slightest bit on people's side they have their own law and will even steal your car ! They did it to me and friend in mid day at a gas station almost arrested us and harassed me every day for almost a month for calling for help ain't that a bitch! But the scenery and fishing is tight soooo....
