I would loved to know why she chose to let SEO and web design apart and 'go back' to SMM and how SEO and webdesign may help her now (other than building her own website)
Hey! It’s Shaylee from the interview haha. The past three years, I worked at an agency that mainly focused on SEO and web design with social media has an add-on (and frankly taking a major back seat to our other services). The social media marketing we did was mostly a consistent posting schedule and the occasional ad campaign. I left to start my own company so I can put more focus on SMM and now offer a much more well-rounded service because I can see and understand how a social media strategy connects to a client’s website and search engine rankings. I don’t think I explained that very well on the interview haha.
Now, I also offer Wordpress website design and copywriting, all with a strong understanding of SEO fundamentals. The goal of most social media strategies is to drive traffic back to a website. My web design skills come in to play here because I can create or manage a website to help generate that traffic into leads.

Absolutely! I thiiiink she may have been referring to a text caption under the video ie “check out my grocery haul” as opposed to burned in captions describing what’s happening in the video. Good call out either way, I agree adding captions is super necessary for accessibility purposes 🙌🏽
