This is a pretty awesome DIY!
I really wish TBLeague would start offering us some of their dark skin tones in the 1/6 female figures. With a proper headsculpt, naturally.
With this method you use to color the body, how well does it stay on? If you manipulate the limbs, does it wear off easy?

This method does rub off if you're constantly touching the doll. I have started to avoid touching her with my bare hands and use a cloth or tissue paper. The oils from my hands make the paint rub off. But I just keep some of the paint powder handy and just touch her up whenever I need to 🤷🏾‍♀️

@@lyladanielle4429 Not sure if you follow most of TBLeagues figures.. but the fictitious Egyptian figures they've been making is giving me hope.. they've been playing around with colours on their bodies, like really dark grey, black, green, etc...
We need a few dark skinned third party headsculpts now :)

Awesome! I was looking for a black female Phicen for art/photo reference and I couldn't find anyone making something comparable to the S42. I will give this a try at some point.

I did this a few months back and haven’t had any issues with the color coming off even changing clothes.

Gotta admit using a tie for the dress is ingenious. Where did you source the head?

Thank you!! That's her original head. I dyed it in Rit dyemore synthetic fabric dye, in chocolate brown. If you try this, be quick! Don't let it sit in there. Hold the hair and quickly dip. Do it until you get the color you want😊

Have you tried dipping the body in the ritt fabric dye to see if it works too?

You know you can use paint from an airbrush to alter shades permanently
