I'm Hungry! We have most of these ingredients in Brazil, but I have never seen the banana flower cooked. This type of home cooking, looks wonderful and delicious!
Steps to the recipe I could decipher: 1 remove the stalk with bud in each banana flower 2 chop 3 boil in hot water with handful of moong dal(yellow lentils) 4 remove from flame once cooked ... for tempering _ 1. heat oil in flame 2, add mustard seeds and wait till they splutter 3 add chopped red onion 4 add handful of curry leaves cook till translucent 5 add salt to taste 6 add pinch of turmeric 7 she added 2 eggs but that’s optional 8 add some minced coconut and cook a little but till it’s cooked and that’s the recipe

I remembered my mother.She used to prepare many varieties of gravy of Banana Flowers when she was alive. Of course, it requires a lot of time and patience for sorting and cleaning these flowers. We are pure vegetarians, prepare food without egg. I don't about this variety with eggs, but must be tasting YUMMY...

My, my. I live in the Caribbean and right in my backyard I have bananas growing. I usually just cut the bananas and throw away that flower, I never knew it was edible! Wow, more food now for me.
