According to the Hyundai Research Institute, the economic effect of BTS is an average of 4.14 trillion won (3.4 billion dollars), an average of 26 times the average sales of mid-sized companies. HRI takes a look at the economic impact of BTS brand value expansion.

This is the best documentary I've seen so far about BTS, thanks for part 1, part 2 and part 3. Very well made.
Based on this report, BTS has already served their country more than an ordinary citizen with more than two lifespans of existence.
This whole series is what you call ‘content’
Believe me, once BTS enlists for the military, all this economic benefits that korea is getting right now will drastically decrease, korean government should definitely do something about it, or at least give BTS at least 6-7 years to complete their contract with BIGHIT and they can enlist later
Korean Government did open a debate about possibility BTS receive an examption but haters keep whinning that BTS tried to avoid the responsibilty and doesn't want to serve in the military, in the end BTS respectfully turn down the government offer and korean government said the hate reaction was such a shame and regret because it was the government side that tried to open such debate. BTS had made it clear that they will serve in the military for the country when the duty called as a korean citizen but as of right now they will enjoy the ride.

I actually wonder do korean government worry once BTS enlist to army during their still peak era? So far, no other kpop group can catch up their popularity and no group as that actually that can be appeal as much to general public around the world compared to BTS. BTS work ethic also unrivalled as they always work hard to put best quality on their contents like performance, music since day 1. And they also always communicate with their fans even they are now so popular right now. This is 6th year group already but the fact that they still work hard as singers like a rookies are truly admirable.
Very informative I hope the Korean people realised this and be thankful to BTS.
I believe actually that BTS has a huge power that is still not developed at it's 100%, to encourage people to change the world for good, I mean, right now they are doing big and great things but I always had this feeling that they can make an even bigger impact on not only just Army but on most of the human population...
I hope BTS effect wil also bring World Peace. 👏🏼👍💜

I am very thankful first for BTS's music that has provided great comfort during difficult times, however, I'm also glad to have found them because I've learned a lot more about Korean culture and history along the way. In the west, we barely learn anything about Korea in school. I learned a little in college, but not much. Through BTS, I have discovered such important events as May 18th, Japan's violent rule during the 1900s, Joseon dynasty, the different regions/dialects in Korea, etc.

To achieve $35B in the next 5 to 10 years is for BTS to get military exemption, cuz if one member or all goes into the military, the ecommerce will fall. So my take is BTS brings tourism and economic growth, South Korea should just exempt BTS from going to military.

I totally agree. 7 members going to military aren't going to make affect the military but definitely to the economic of the whole country.
But it really depends if BTS wants to be exempted or not. Koreans (especially the ones who lived their whole life there) are very patriotic and it's seen as great honor to serve the country. Personally, I see BTS as a group that loves their country very much so they probably will enlist, besides they probably will get a lot of backlash from the gp if they don't. Remember that politician issue? When the politician used BTS as a topic for military exemption and it created some backlash which resulted to him apologizing and BTS confirming that they will enlist. (But as far as I kniw athletes who earn medals for the country are exempted so we never really know)
Well bts has said themselves that they want to inlist to the army and will do it but that they appreciate the fans concern

And it is true that Korean culture and products are becoming more and more prominent in the West. Just recently, there have been Korean stores and restaurants popping up in my neighborhood (in a smaller town) when a few years ago, I couldn't have even found anything unless I went to a bigger city. Korean food, beauty products, and entertainment are especially becoming more popular among the younger crowd as well (though that does mean it's that much harder to get BTS goods when there are so many fans everywhere now ^-^;).

man, I really want to understand all that is being said. I recognize the words BTS, Bangtan Sonyeondan and ARMY...shameful, I wish I could learn Korean faster than yesterday. Regardless, I am super proud to support these young men. Not all ARMYs are teens dependent on their parents money. Some of us are mature adults with disposable income to spend as we wish.
We traveled from Texas to Chicago and New York last year to see them. In 2019 we went back to New York/New Jersey to experience their concert. Money seems to come easy when you spend it on BTS! lol
This is one of the best documentaries that I've watched regarding Bangtan's growth and impact. Even with just 3 videos, everything was thoroughly researched and backed up with credible data and by resource persons. Interviews from ARMYs and aspiring idols were also impactful. Aside from that, the description about Bighit is also accurate. Bighit and Bangtan, along with the power of ARMYs, created a synergistic effect, and you cannot simply credit the phenomenon to one of the three entities alone. Bighit facilitated the growth of Bangtan by allowing them to have freedom as artists. The members themselves inherently have good attitudes and personalities, but more importantly, they have the grit to face all the challenges the have encountered. Even with the fame they have now, they never became arrogant and they always stayed humble. It's a perfect description to say that they never became lazy because they still practice for 12-16 hours a day until now. They never lost their original intentions. ARMYs, on the other hand, have recognized their efforts. We aren't kidding when we say that Bangtan saved our lives. It's not to put them on a pedestal but it is to say that even if they see their self as mere humans, their messages resonated to us, and it made life less burdensome. ARMYs are always thankful towards them so the only way we know how to repay them is to promote them because we know that these genuine people deserve it. Lastly, I really appreciate how you concluded that Bangtan doesn't get swayed easily by the environment or any external force and moves forward through their power. Thank you for this! 💜

Splitting BTS up for any length of time when this is becoming so huge will be the biggest mistake ever made....BTS opened a lot of doors for other artists but at the moment BTS is still holding those doors open themselves.......BTS is a driving force when millions of ARMY started staying up all over the world to watch Korean awards shows and hears of other artists they never new existed .....or when other groups name drop BTS to get on shows or red carpets .....or when they break records as the new generation Beatles.....just take a look at BTS mentions anywhere on social media it’s hundreds of millions of posts a year...even on Twitter they on any day get 20K-200K tweets an hour related to them....look at the closest kpop act on the social 50 and it’s MAYBE 2K-20K an hour......there cannot be any mistake in knowing that BTS did not only reignite the interest in Korean ent. But they are the fire itself at this moment that’s keeping it going at the rate it is currently
I am worried about the conscription issue with BTS, it will ruin their continuing success, it could be the end of them, you can't be out of the business for two years and it not have a detrimental effect (if they go together). It would mean losing members constantly over a large period of time, if they go separately.
