Finally confessing. I’m 51, a mom of a 21 & 16 yo, a teacher and I’ve fallen in love with the TALENT of BTS. My kids and hubby think I’m crazy, lol. I remember seeing them about a year ago on a music award show and wondering about them because there had been recent talk about some K-Pop group named BTS and supposedly how good they are. I didn’t get it at the time. When I watched them on SNL, I was floored. I immediately wanted to know everything about these 7 young men and their music because they were incredible live. 3 months later, I’ve spent hours listening, viewing, following, and learning everything I can. I’m so impressed by their diverse sounds, CHOREOGRAPHY, how well they sound live while performing, the messages in their lyrics and how they are so humble and hard-working. I appreciate how they care for each other, their families, and fans. Last spring, one of my 1st graders told me he’d been to their concert that weekend and I was so excited (and jealous)! As a parent and teacher, I can appreciate the positivity and relatability of their lyrics for both young and old. Love them!💜

They train around 12 hours a day and have been doing it since years before debut as trainees. The youngest member was 15 when he entered the company. These idols give so much it isn't uncommon for them to collapse. They promote in Korea for weeks after dropping a new album. BTS hopped off their promotions to immediately come to the BBMA's and days later began their world wide stadium tour. Meanwhile they're already laying the recording down for the next album. It's an intense world in KPop. The stage isn't ever an issue because they perfect this choreo in their dance studio rooms, but the MAMA stage is always massive and that performance had 2 additional dance breaks.

Over the decades, I've seen boybands - from Menudo, New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys, Take That, 98 Degrees, N'Snyc, One Direction - BTS is above and beyond in terms of (multi)talent, discipline and performance levels. I'm quite old but when I watch them, I feel somewhat like a teen!! LOL
I'm a 57 yr old who loves practically all their songs from their earlier hip-hop stage to their beautiful ballads. When I want to improve my mood, I put on their boppier songs and dance around the kitchen with my Malamutes 😁
This is the one. This is the performance that I couldn't get out of my head. Then I had to watch everything of theirs, and now I am full-fledged BTS Army. I never even liked rap before, or choreography, or k-pop, or pop music in general. But something about this (and so many other performances) is absolutely magical. Now I realize that everything they touch seems magical. (I also don't like magic.) I love the way they love each other and how much they care about their fans. I love their voices, their dance moves, their chaotic V-lives, their interviews, their variety shows--I love it all. They have worked so hard, they've overcome so much hardship, and they are so, so good at what they do. Of course, they are human, and they make mistakes like the rest of us. But that just makes me want to support them more. Thank you, BTS. You're the best.

I think more parents need to give these guys a chance and actually pay attention to what they say in many of their songs. As the parent of a daughter who suffers from anxiety, self esteem issues and depression, I am very thankful to BTS for letting their fans know that they too have suffered with many of the same issues. They tell their fans to love themselves for who they are. Their music has been a Godsend to my daughter and to me. They are talented in so many ways and still so humble and grateful to the fans who support them. After seeing them in concert in 2017, my daughter and I got matching tattoos to commemorate the event. Am I embarrassed to have a young pop group on my arm at 55 years old...hell no! Because I know, even if BTS themselves don't, how very much they have meant to my child and therefore to me as well. I pray God continues to bless them and to keep them safe. ARMY MOM forever!!

i heard they're actually singing. is this true? if it is, they're the most talented cuz dancing the way they do and singing at the same time is very hard.
And some people mock them for lipsync, which is actually a compliment. You can tell they're singing live, when Jin made a mistake by not singing unto the mic and his voice was not audible.
They are really hardworking. They practice up to 16 hours/day, and get loads of compliment for their endurance and stamina during performances. No lip-syncing, just incredible live vocals and lots of practice! It's indeed very hard, but BTS nail it every time, which makes people accuse them for lip-syncing.
can't you hear breathing and adlibs? you don't have to know the song to hear that the first rapper changed his delivery, the guy with teal hair at got "angry" at 2:16... yes, everything is live. the only thing that wasn't sang live in this performance is 1:15, 1:20, 1:27-1:29, 1:38-1:40, 2:23, 2:28, 2:34-2:36, 2:46-2:48, you can hear backing track there, which is 16 seconds in total (the boys need a break to inhale :)). it didn't bother me to write this, i listen to this performance at least twice a week, it's that good 😎
Many people think that a good rapper is one who raps fast (we all know Yoongi spits fire when he does anyway) but I honestly also enjoy how good he is at rapping even at a "normal" speed.
Yoongi has a radio show he does once a week (Saturdays) on VLive called Suga DJs Honey FM and his speaking voice is practically ASMR, very soothing. He also just released a new song under his solo name Augst D and did a collab with the artist IU called Eight.
I'm old enough to remember when The Beatles hit the world stage. I would say that BTS is as big a phenomenon. I'm in my early sixties, and I enjoy their performances, which are full of energy, color, and harmony. In addition, their message of positivity is refreshing. I wish them continued success.

BTS is actually underrated bcz they are a boyband. BTS write ALL their lyrics, compose& produce their own albums together with other producers. They themselves are song writers, not just singing & dancing boys. They make their own music while pulling off killer choreography. They ONLY put out the best choreography and best music video. Their lyrics are very beautiful, genuine and meaningful often covering their own life stories, struggles, as well as many social issues. They are NOT just pretty boys.

It's like this all the time! I've been to several concerts of different artists and they're good in their own right but nothing beats BTS when it comes to performances. This is a piece of cake for them. If you're interested in watching a performance, I recommend watching the 2018 Melon Music Awards "Who Are You" performance. It's def worth the watch.

Finally confessing. I’m 51, a mom of a 21 & 16 yo, a teacher and I’ve fallen in love with the TALENT of BTS. My kids and hubby think I’m crazy, lol. I remember seeing them about a year ago on a music award show and wondering about them because there had been recent talk about some K-Pop group named BTS and supposedly how good they are. I didn’t get it at the time. When I watched them on SNL, I was floored. I immediately wanted to know everything about these 7 young men and their music because they were incredible live. 3 months later, I’ve spent hours listening, viewing, following, and learning everything I can. I’m so impressed by their diverse sounds, CHOREOGRAPHY, how well they sound live while performing, the messages in their lyrics and how they are so humble and hard-working. I appreciate how they care for each other, their families, and fans. Last spring, one of my 1st graders told me he’d been to their concert that weekend and I was so excited (and jealous)! As a parent and teacher, I can appreciate the positivity and relatability of their lyrics for both young and old. Love them!💜

I am 26 years old ... dont let anyone tell you there is a age barriere for anything especially music ... it's hard to fight steriotyps and I think most people dont get BTS or try to understand them until they get curious and truly give them a chance ... so I think people have to find them on their own ( thats what I feel anytime I try to explain them , show people stuff etc. ... sometimes they will get curious way later and check them out on their own and thats when most of them become fans ...) but all of this wil not keep me from talking about them form time to time playing their music and showing people that I love them for a reason even if they dont fully understand that ... I believe BTS has a very hugh impact on more than just the music indutry front and that impact will be felt in a long time and will live on in their fans as a postiv impact ...anyways 💜

They train around 12 hours a day and have been doing it since years before debut as trainees. The youngest member was 15 when he entered the company. These idols give so much it isn't uncommon for them to collapse. They promote in Korea for weeks after dropping a new album. BTS hopped off their promotions to immediately come to the BBMA's and days later began their world wide stadium tour. Meanwhile they're already laying the recording down for the next album. It's an intense world in KPop.
The stage isn't ever an issue because they perfect this choreo in their dance studio rooms, but the MAMA stage is always massive and that performance had 2 additional dance breaks.
To me this is the best video to introduce people to BTS. Their swag here is unreal and we have nothing like this here in the US

Mic Drop is definitely Hobi’s song, his stage presence and how he performs is just amazing. Jungkook, Jimin and V definitely didn’t fail to stand out.

My first time ever watching something with BTS (only because this song is one we dance to in UJam class at the gym). Wow! No wonder they have so many fans. So much energy and they aren’t lip syncing like a lot of guest acts do when on SNL.
Jup the energy and live vocals is really off the charts with bts...especially during their concerts (there are quite a lot of video uploads on TH-cam etc. Since bts has concert DVDs /and does/did live streams for some of their concerts) anyways if you are future interested in BTS maybe looking for those is a nice start (especially if you try to look for those that have english subs for the lyrics...those subs arnt always perfect but a start to understand the songs content...)
Anyways bts has a wide range on topics and music genres so you might find quite a lot of songs you like and aside of group work they also have lots of solo works that they crest outside of bts to develope future as an Artist. (the newest one is the album "Face" by Jimin (which is the one with the red jacket and pink/red hair color here he is 1 of the 4 vocalist's in bts the other 3 are rappers)

They're very genre-agnostic and versatile artists, and many aspects about them from their music/lyrics, history, talent, & stage performance, tends to attract people from different interests. You'd be surprised, they have many metal heads/rock/hip hop fans, plus many fans are diverse, ranging from mostly in their 20s to even elderly. This is the one. This is the performance that I couldn't get out of my head. Then I had to watch everything of theirs, and now I am full-fledged BTS Army. I never even liked rap before, or choreography, or k-pop, or pop music in general. But something about this (and so many other performances) is absolutely magical. Now I realize that everything they touch seems magical. (I also don't like magic.)
I love the way they love each other and how much they care about their fans. I love their voices, their dance moves, their chaotic V-lives, their interviews, their variety shows--I love it all. They have worked so hard, they've overcome so much hardship, and they are so, so good at what they do. Of course, they are human, and they make mistakes like the rest of us. But that just makes me want to support them more.

I think more parents need to give these guys a chance and actually pay attention to what they say in many of their songs. As the parent of a daughter who suffers from anxiety, self esteem issues and depression, I am very thankful to BTS for letting their fans know that they too have suffered with many of the same issues. They tell their fans to love themselves for who they are. Their music has been a Godsend to my daughter and to me. They are talented in so many ways and still so humble and grateful to the fans who support them. After seeing them in concert in 2017, my daughter and I got matching tattoos to commemorate the event. Am I embarrassed to have a young pop group on my arm at 55 years old...hell no! Because I know, even if BTS themselves don't, how very much they have meant to my child and therefore to me as well. I pray God continues to bless them and to keep them safe. ARMY MOM forever!!

Yes,, very touching. I know what you are saying because that is what has been happenning to me, too. Beautiful artists inside and out trying to “walk the talk”. Korea has never had any artists like BTS. So many people in their later stage of life adore their music and the messages in the songs.

I didn't know about BTS until I saw this video a couple of weeks ago. I'm 55 and totally blown away by these unbelievably talented cats! Their choreography is unreal.
You should check out their dance practice to Dionysus. It's a rock song but the staging and choreo is sooo amazing. Also kinda dangerous in some parts too...

@@neondream03 The thing I dig about the SNL footage is it shows the choreography more clearly (and dramatically) than some of the other footage where the camera angle always changes. Their performance impressed me enough to buy their last 4 releases on CD (I know, old school)...

i heard they're actually singing. is this true? if it is, they're the most talented cuz dancing the way they do and singing at the same time is very hard.
And some people mock them for lipsync, which is actually a compliment. You can tell they're singing live, when Jin made a mistake by not singing unto the mic and his voice was not audible.
They are really hardworking. They practice up to 16 hours/day, and get loads of compliment for their endurance and stamina during performances. No lip-syncing, just incredible live vocals and lots of practice! It's indeed very hard, but BTS nail it every time, which makes people accuse them for lip-syncing.

If you listen closely you'll find they're gasping for air in a few parts. But it's minimal cuz they're that good
can't you hear breathing and adlibs? you don't have to know the song to hear that the first rapper changed his delivery, the guy with teal hair at got "angry" at 2:16... yes, everything is live. the only thing that wasn't sang live in this performance is 1:15, 1:20, 1:27-1:29, 1:38-1:40, 2:23, 2:28, 2:34-2:36, 2:46-2:48, you can hear backing track there, which is 16 seconds in total (the boys need a break to inhale :)).
it didn't bother me to write this, i listen to this performance at least twice a week, it's that good 😎

Many people think that a good rapper is one who raps fast (we all know Yoongi spits fire when he does anyway) but I honestly also enjoy how good he is at rapping even at a "normal" speed.
Yoongi has a radio show he does once a week (Saturdays) on VLive called Suga DJs Honey FM and his speaking voice is practically ASMR, very soothing. He also just released a new song under his solo name Augst D and did a collab with the artist IU called Eight.

I'm old enough to remember when The Beatles hit the world stage. I would say that BTS is as big a phenomenon. I'm in my early sixties, and I enjoy their performances, which are full of energy, color, and harmony. In addition, their message of positivity is refreshing. I wish them continued success.

They have an overall message in their music of self-empowerment, encouraging people to follow their dreams and to not give up, but also to love themselves, even if right now, they don't like themselves. If you want to see what these guys stand for, you can watch the speech that the leader of BTS, RM gave at the united nations. BTS don't just say the message, their actions back up their words.

BTS is actually underrated bcz they are a boyband. BTS write ALL their lyrics, compose& produce their own albums together with other producers. They themselves are song writers, not just singing & dancing boys. They make their own music while pulling off killer choreography. They ONLY put out the best choreography and best music video. Their lyrics are very beautiful, genuine and meaningful often covering their own life stories, struggles, as well as many social issues. They are NOT just pretty boys.
