9 years ago my partner was given a diagnosis of a rare & aggressive cancer that usually has a prognosis of weeks to months from diagnosis. After chemo & surgery, he has now been declared NED for 3 years! He still has ongoing health issues (mostly caused by the extremely high dose chemo needed to treat the cancer) but were looking to move in together and properly start our lives together. He does have some difficult days, particularly on the anniversaries of his friends' deaths, but we're getting through it.
