Wow, it's so nice to read all of your very kind and lovely comments about my home, thank you :) To me it was important that the feeling of the space was captured, and it seems that the team at Designer Home Tours have done that perfectly. Thanks again for the opportunity to share my crazy, comfy and very personal home, I hope it offers you a little inspiration. X
I just watched this episode and what a fabulous home you've designed! You have enormous talent. I like how you explained your method and i love how your kitchen is so down to earth, all your wooden spoons and appliances out because you want to see them. One other thing, I love your voice and that is another reason I loved this so much. Please read some audiobooks so I can listen at night, lol. I listen to Benedict Cumberbatch when he reads and you have that same rich timbre which is so lovely. I know I'm totally off topic here, this is an interior design video, but just sayin'... 😁take care and thanks for allowing us to visit your gorgeous abode! Blessings from California!
Absolutely lovely to watch! I loved when he said: "The intention is not to look decorated. The intention is to collect beautiful things!" Beautiful home!
LOVE this home. It's so personal to him but absolutely stunning, I would kill for that office. Also totally agree with his philosophy on having appliances out where you can see them, I dislike the concept of trying to make a home look like no one lives there
Talented guy! Love his positioning of furnishings with colour for everyday luxious living! Hats off to a great functioning designer home. Enjoy the fruits of your labor!
I clicked on this video bc I thought, "Maximalist Mid-Century? That sounds like me!" I do love this house so much. And that putty color at the back of the kitchen, wow...the color really speaks to me.
I have this home saved in My Favourites and I’ve visited it more than a few times! This place matches my Core Comfort Zone perfectly! I would love to see it in the evening set-up for entertaining with the candles, table laid and the lights outside highlighting the tree…BEAUTIFUL! ❤❤❤
I like that it is casual. I'm in LA, where people 'curate' cookie-cutter minimalism. But I like a house to fell lived in. I want to be constantly feathering my nest. And I get that feeling of process in this house.
Absolutely love it! It's kind of got a '90s feel, but in such a cool way, with the taupey walls and shades of brown mixed with the colourful fabrics / textiles + art. It feels so homey, comfortable and welcoming - a warm embrace. If I were the designer, I would totally go all the way and paint his study walls red!
Very beautiful choice of furniture and accessories.! Great artsy style. The garden is very cozy. There is definitely a fun atmosphere happening here. BRAVO! Well done. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Amazingly done! I love her...beautiful! The artwork knits the decor wonderfully together. This home creates a personal motivation to create your own exquisite living space! Perfection! ❤️
The beauty is decor is there are not a right or bad design...it’s all about feeling. A minimalist would probably feel overwhelmed. But i found empty space like a aseptisé feeling. A well organized maximalist is generious, welcoming, full of personality...
I love your design and descriptions.Your kitchen is abundant and happy I love the island too! It’s how I feel about mine also ! The best designs are the ones that make you happy!
Except for the picture of the 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger explosion in the study (which seems like an odd choice of decor), this home has the characteristics of maximalism that I love: coziness, character, and lots of stories behind the decor choices.
The thought of living in South Africa scares all the proverbial out of me. Noooooo chance. If I were more blissfully ignorant, it'd be a different story. That being said, Liam's house is so gorgeous. He's a real talent.
Beautifully layered. A “collection of beautiful things” indeed. You have an impressive eye for casually mixing colors and prints that makes it thoughtfully “undone”.
What an amazing home! He's got a lot of special items there. Loooove the lamps. I always have lamp-envy when I watch these designer home tours! Personally I don't think I would have labeled it mid century modern.
Loved this, a real home, really loved it... And yet all I can see is the bin in the corner of the kitchen and the angled TV. That said, it's still beautiful.
I love the bones of the house itself and the intention of the furniture is fantastic. It’s a titch too maximalist for me though, I’d probably scale it back by a third. Red…it does not appeal to me. Yellow is usually described as an irritant color, but I love the yellow chair and the colours in the lounge.
Liam's home is breezy -- both in terms of air movement and in terms of attitude, that "sprezzatura" he refers to. Choosing a house with big wood-framed windows surrounded by lush plantings was the first good move.
Hi David, I am aware of what the painting represents. It's by a great South African artist called Rowan Smith, give him a google his work is very interesting. My reasons for having purchased it are multifold - it's one of my more personal pieces.
@@liammooney6990 Thanks for the personal response, but now I'm even more curious. Why he recreated the photo, and why you bought it. Guess I'll never know; none of my business. Best regards from Indiana.

Love your originality!
Love the colors, books, art, ‘happy busy abundant kitchen’, rugs, the red table in the study, egg yoke chair etc..! Lovely & cozy home!!
What a warm and beautiful house! I know you are an awesome designer but I like how this feels very personal and unique.
If you are willing, please would you share the paint color used in your dining room area.

I LOVE this! It is a HOME, not a overly or minimally decorated house. It reflects a personality and is welcoming.
It proves whatever floats your boat, just do it!
Absolutely lovely to watch! I loved when he said: "The intention is not to look decorated. The intention is to collect beautiful things!" Beautiful home!
Such lovely personality, both in the home and the designer himself. A tour to enjoy watching again.
and again, and again, and again... 😊🇵🇹
I LOVE this home, this designer read my mind. This place is fabulous, gorgeous and more. I want to live there.

I love how harmonious everything works with each other. A real home, not extravagant. Very impressed.
Love 💗 that you draped a small rug on your sofa. What a great idea.
So lively and full of personality…I love his style!
Talented guy! Love his positioning of furnishings with colour for everyday luxious living! Hats off to a great functioning designer home. Enjoy the fruits of your labor!
Thank you for your comment.
I love how people love their stuff. Really enjoyed this.

Unique entryway. Love the artwork gallery. Beautiful.
I love your style. Brilliant
What a beautiful and unpretentious home. So much fun in this home and also warm. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
The home completely embodies Liam's character. We love it so much for that!
Just the title, Maximalist Mid-Century had me, and it did not disappoint! So Inspiring!
Thanks Tracy, we are glad you enjoyed it. We loved making this episode.
This home is to die for. One of the most beautiful homes I have ever seen displayed, thank you for sharing this stunning personal space!
We're so happy you enjoyed the video, more to come!
Wonderful creative design which is contemporary expression of ‘mid-century modern’ aesthetic. Thanks for posting.
Your way with color and pattern is impeccable. Rarely is maximalism so soothing.
We totally agree. There's a method to the madness, and it's beautiful!
He’s very unique!
And Cape Town!!! 😍😍

such a lovely home! very cozy, warm and welcoming. love the garden and the plants too
Yes, "welcoming". I love the room with all the books. I could live there in the company of a few friends.
I like that it is casual. I'm in LA, where people 'curate' cookie-cutter minimalism. But I like a house to fell lived in. I want to be constantly feathering my nest. And I get that feeling of process in this house.

So cozy! I love it! Warm and welcoming!! 💚❤️🇿🇦🥰
Thank you! It was amazing to see in person, we wish all could too
Very beautiful choice of furniture and accessories.! Great artsy style. The garden is very cozy. There is definitely a fun atmosphere happening here. BRAVO! Well done. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
I love it all, but the den is especially cozy. I'd be in there reading and napping all day. You seem very kind and intelligent. Regards from Indiana.

Fab. love your style mate !
Charismatic Vibrant, warm, homely, lived in imperfect perfect 😍😍
Gorgeous welcoming home, for living in, full of interest.
Well said! We love the lived in character so so much!
really like the maximalism!
The beauty is decor is there are not a right or bad design...it’s all about feeling. A minimalist would probably feel overwhelmed. But i found empty space like a aseptisé feeling. A well organized maximalist is generious, welcoming, full of personality...
Well said, this house is a home, and a home with character!
I'm so glad that the feeling was conveyed :)
I love your design and descriptions.Your kitchen is abundant and happy I love the island too! It’s how I feel about mine also ! The best designs are the ones that make you happy!
So true!
Wow, that was so fun! Love your home & decorating sense. If we collect what we love it all makes sense. ❤️
Yes! Thank you!
So beautiful.!!❤👌💐
Loved this home. Thanks for sharing 👍 🥰
A man after my own heart! So refreshingly different from so much else in home design.
Couldn't agree more, Liam's style is nothing but refreshing!
Except for the picture of the 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger explosion in the study (which seems like an odd choice of decor), this home has the characteristics of maximalism that I love: coziness, character, and lots of stories behind the decor choices.
The challenger explosion was fake💯 The astronauts are all alive and enjoying their life's ‼️
Well said! Calculating how to make something feel perfectly "undone," as you've mentioned, is an incredible feat.
Just lovely! Thank you for sharing your gorgeous space
Thank you so much!
What an amazing home! He's got a lot of special items there. Loooove the lamps. I always have lamp-envy when I watch these designer home tours! Personally I don't think I would have labeled it mid century modern.
you got it! Lamp light is a very quick and easy way to add romance to a room
@@liammooney6990 Absolutely! It looks very cozy! I love your home! Thank you for sharing it with the world! Very inspiring!
I love the personality! And I’m such an animal print kinda girl, so he had me at hello!
Absolutely beautiful, looks like Newlands..
I think you're exactly right :)
Very creative. Love it!
Absolutely gorgeous! So warm and multilayered and happy!

muito obrigado pelo seu lindo elogio
I love how he said that the intention is not to decorate but to collect beautiful things! That’s what I’m after too❤️
Well said! Liam's got such a unique and beautiful perspective.
Excellent! 👏
Loved this, a real home, really loved it... And yet all I can see is the bin in the corner of the kitchen and the angled TV. That said, it's still beautiful.
Love your style
So hilarious watching this and spotting that CT accent 🤣
Gorgeous!
Thank you!
Bello! God Bless You and home!
Fabulous home 🥰! Would love to know the wall paint color 😊.
Hi there, it's from a South African pain company called Plascon and the colour is Creme Brulee
This is amazing!
My type of home ❤️
Liam is simply the best 💫
Ciao Carlo! hehe and I think you're simply the best too! Can't wait to see you again
Love the the Maximalism style! However, the photo of the 1986 Challenger explosion in the study is to me strangely odd.
Love it
Im SURE that ALL the views are from MEEEE!!😂 I LOVE his space and i search for it all of the time!!! Sooo much INSPO! ❤

Love love love
Love his style. I am sick of those clean "minimalistic, designy" homes.
Liam's work is always refreshing, and we were overjoyed to get a look at his personal home!
Is that a section of a concrete structure at 0:47 ? 😍
Good eye! Interesting
I love you kitchen skinny table is s great idea
Liam's home is breezy -- both in terms of air movement and in terms of attitude, that "sprezzatura" he refers to. Choosing a house with big wood-framed windows surrounded by lush plantings was the first good move.
Thanks so much for watching! Liam showed us all to lean into what you really love right? We love the art.
Nice personality
Lovely home...so much character... music is so bad though!!
Wow. Lots and lots…and lots! Sorry- but I found most of the music distracting and jarring.
I'm bothered by the picture of the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster. Is he honoring it in some way? Does he not know what that is?
Hi David, I am aware of what the painting represents. It's by a great South African artist called Rowan Smith, give him a google his work is very interesting. My reasons for having purchased it are multifold - it's one of my more personal pieces.

❤️❤️❤️
❣
❤️💕❤️
❤😊
That’s really irritating music ... you should consider that a little more ... no concept involved here
When this white man in SOUTH AFRICA described a design aesthetic as WASP, ick! No thank you.
I hate it. Horrible colors. Too much junk and clutter. It feels like living inside a corrugated cardboard box.
Finally ! Someone with BALLS and not afraid of colors and character 👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
