I won today with a v similar team as the first game, but with a lvl 3 leopard instead. The attack from the dodo actually manages to supplement the meeses' health pretty well, you don't generally need a ton of attack in this weekly.

That should not be how the trumpet interaction happens at 22:13. The highland cow dies before it can get trumpets, so the enemy just gets screwed
Its start of battle still triggers, but it's trying to generate trumpets with 0 HP. It's kind of an unfortunate effect of the timing mechanics which I'm not confident they'd be willing to program an exception for.
I feel like that’s kind of the incentive to get its attack up, though, so it triggers first. There are definitely arguments for both sides.
That’s how it should work based on its description, and consistency with all other abilities: order is determined based on attack stat.
Start-of-battle abilities, like any abilities trigger in the determined order and the values of the ability are determined by the state of the animal at the time of the trigger.
Here, the front Cheetah had the highest attack, so it went first. The random hits happened to bring the Highland Cow down to 1 health.
Next in order to trigger is Highland Cow, with second highest health. Its ability triggers based on health. At the time it triggers, it happened to have 1 health.
2 trumpets for every 3 health results in 0.67 trumpets (pets with abilities based on stats always round down to nearest whole number). 0.67 rounded down = 0.
Then, the next highest attack start of battle pet went; Skooties Cheetah(s). They knocked out more pets, including the Highland Cow.
Its ability absolutely should work this way to be consistent with the rules of the game, and consistent rules are important to a good game, imo. Hope this helps.
If you want to avoid this downside of the Highland Cow in the context of going against snipers, you can increase its attack to try to ensure it’ll be triggering first.
There’s also RNG of other pets being hit and having high enough health to survive and still produce some trumpets.
Interestingly, in the context of going up against a potential stinky sock, you also have to worry about it being the highest HP pet. Same for going up against potential skunk, except you can still try to mitigate that by having a higher attack stat to trigger before an enemy skunk (according to the consistent rules!)
The variance in strategy based on interplay with the other animals in the pack is what keeps SAP interesting. In this situation, it’s actually a great example of the Highland Cow being intricately balanced, instead of a braindead always- OP choice!

The new weekly just dropped and holy hell I’m not kidding when I say you need 50/50 pets by the end or you will not win. There is one strategy and it is scaling. No gimmicks. No summons. Nothing
It’s straight up only scalers to the max
Was the moose not buffing 50 atk pets confirmed or did Skoottie just get incredibly (un)lucky?
I think just unlucky because the trex is also random but still buffed the leopard
@@ditto5068true, but the odds of 20 total moose triggers not hitting is ridiculously small. I’m curious if it’s a bug with moose or random health scaling pets and lollipop
@@Allahamondsthe chance of it NOT hitting would be 3/4, not 1/4, making it a more reasonable 0.3%. Unlikely but not statistically impossible.
