Crabbing in Oregon | GoPro Underwater Footage | 9.25.17

Took my son on his very first crabbing trip with Yeh-yeh (grandma) and Gong-gong (grandpa). This was also the first time I attached my GoPro in the crab cage. Enjoy the underwater footage!

Need a bigger cage, or a smaller bait box? Many crabs come and go, as others get stopped with their shell keeping the door open, allowing others to get out. Needs to shut after each entry, if possible?

Good observation. The bait box was off centered and the crabs inside were blocking the door from swinging up.

What model of camera is this? Also can you watch live from your phone?

It's the GoPro hero 3. The camera is linked to your phone via WiFi and loses the feed once it goes under water.

what was the length of time the pots were down and how many keepers were in the haul?

About 30 min soaks. On average 3 to 4 keepers per trap.
