You're pretty close when you said that it sounds like a showtune. The sample they use for the chorus is from the opera "Carmen" a story about a gypsy woman who sings and dances to seduce a police officer to get herself and her friends out of trouble until things go wrong and he gets obsessed with her and ends up killing her. It's just another layer that makes this song really cool. Soyeon did an amazing job.
This comeback left me shocked!! It was sooo goood and I loved how every member got a chance to shine! The concept was amazing and unlike most concepts recently in kpop! I think this is one of their best!!! 🫢❤️❤️❤️
i agree 100% this was such a unique concept and it was truly a showstopper 🥰 despite how serious the subject is there is something refreshing about seeing it talked about and visualized!
It took me ages to find out about yeppi yeppi. Apparently it's is a slang, diminutive form of "pretty" and kind of means "pretty thing" or" pretty little one" and it's not usually applied to people but is quite a common name for pets
@@lnak.mp4 This concept was also inspired by betty boop (idk much about the character) but she's kinda like marilyn, and she has this thing "yip yip yippie" thing, if you search you will see something related, I think they used it and change to put their signature as idols from korea (yeppo word)
@@jamescurfman3284 yes i was just thinking this! i did see the person above was right there was a song called yip yip yippy but i’d be willing to bet her boop bop bedop was also an inspo :)
@@lnak.mp4 That would be really fun to find out. How much do these ladies know about all the cultures around the world for them to collectively be able to put a bunch of references like that all together here? It's really remarkable. :)
One thing I really think about with Soyeon’s scene where she’s on display rapping, as well as Shuhua right after with the statues, they’re both representing “pretty things” that are quite literally being objectified for public consumption. 🫢
For the album, "nude" is the culmination of the story even though it's the first track. You have to listen to the songs in reverse order (Starting with "Dark") for the full meaning.

the part with "Yeppi Yeppi" is a reference to Betty Boop, and probably a song she sang called "yippie yi yo". Soyeon had already confirmed that there would be references to her as well, in addition to Marylin and Banksy, which she leaves a message confirming at the end of the MV.
you can say 'idle' or 'g-idle' without fear of judgment. whatever you prefer. people shouldn't try to correct you on this. the girls will go by either depending if the audience is domestic or international. btw thank you for the reaction this song is insane. the album is totally worth listening to!
The lyrics of this song reminds me of Chanmina’s “Bijin” music video. The music video is a hybrid of Chanmina’s Bijin and Dahlia songs. I hope you check it out or react to it.

@@lnak.mp4 your welcome!
