I also think their a lot of korean female producers in the kpop industry but some are'nt just seen or heard much because some companies don't really don't credit their female producers (i think there was the news about a female producer suing a big 3 label allegedly because of no credits and stole the copyrights from her i think it was a 2017 case) theres a lot of female idols writing their songs and producing them but their company does'nt credit them thats why its so hard to find female idols being producers or female producers in the kpop industry because companies don't like to credit the original maker that does'nt favor them and the systemic sexism in the korean music industry

not even a gidle or soyeon stan but seeing comments filled with well-deserved praise for her makes me happy. soyeon is the writer, composer, producer, vocal guide, dance guide to gidle and its a shame how she gets overlooked.
saying this because I read the comments under one of their MVs and was surprised to see no praise for soyeon. I was surprised because I read the description and the credits were ALL her name. many stans hype up idols although they have the least credit among dozen other song writers. and I was disappointed to rather see a hate comment saying soyeon is greedy because she gave herself the most lines. that was the only comment about her and it left an impression on me.

Soyeon is so amazing. She has such a clear vision for what she wants out of a song AND she knows how to communicate that effectively to the members. She knows exactly what to tell them to help them convey the exact right emotions and how to coach them if they’re not quite getting it. I love the way she mentors Shihua here. She’s extraordinary. I love seeing how her face lights up when they nail it the way she hears it in her head. And she holds herself to the same high standard for her own parts. You see her demanding more takes from herself to get it right just as she would for the other members.

I know very little about (G)I-DLE so please do not take this as being rude. But, is Soyeon the leader? She referred to the others as 'unnie' meaning that they are older. Usually, one of the oldest, if not the oldest, in a group is made leader. Or am I missing something about them?

@@McKavian you're right that its unusual that a leader isn't the oldest member. in soyeon's case, she was chosen as leader bc of her position as their producer as well as having more industry experience, since she was on several competition shows and had a solo debut before gi-dle.

Soyeon’s directing is sooo on point but the fact that the members can also pull off exactly as she said is amazing, they all know how to sing really well
I think the most amazing thing about watching this is that she doesn't just sing, but she is also thinking about how to TEACH how to sing. A lot of people know how to do something but they don't necessarily know how to teach it back to someone. And not only that, but Soyeon considers how each member learns and takes into consideration everyone's weakness so they all get to the same point as she does. She doesn't get frustrated when someone doesn't do something right, but instead takes it upon herself to change the way she teaches. This level of empathy isn't something even all teachers have. And I say this as a former teacher.

Constantly encouraging, laughing & changing with them. The teaching of using your fist when doing the "Baby how do I look" part proves it all. She's one of the best leaders there's ever been for a kpop group.

I think the easiest part here for soyeon is that she knows very well her members voices. So it's easy for her to know where to put and how she would distribute the lines. It may still sound hard but comparing to other things she would do like thinking about melody, rhythm or lyrics I think distribution of lines is the easiest.
Line distribution seems like the easiest part yeah but they still work for hours recording/getting the story/tone/message/feeling right. Its almost like an acting job-class its still a lot of work but your right soyeon has said multiple times that she writes the parts specific for each member based on their special abilities and what they do best and since she knows them so well its not that hard for her :)
@ChoKimSooJeonSongYeh Yuqi and Minnie's voices are so different but Soyeon thought of a way to make their voices blend with each other despite the contrast.
@@VinceLevi more like she used the contrast to her advantage, and rather than blending them, the harsh booming growl coming from yuqi after minnie’s line gives the line pizzazz

They record many times, do splicing if necessary (take the good parts from each recording) and if absolutely necessary they do pitch correction. That's just the best way to do things.
Photographers do the same thing, especially for group photos. If you have 30 people in a photo then it will be really hard to get a picture where everyone looks good. So you take many pictures then edit using the many photos.
