I’m a Costco shopper too so it was interesting comparing prices to the west coast :). Pretty similar. I’m with you, whole food cooking is what I shoot for as well. And wow, The Lord always provides! I think the topic of food is an important discussion to have these days with young adults. My husband and I find that sometimes priorities get out of whack when people believe that organic grass fed is all they should eat. It definitely affects the budget. And if a young family is prioritizing a wife/mother at home, living on one income in this day and age, somethings need to give. I know people who have moved out of state, leaving community and church behind just to prioritize their demand for the cleanest foods. Every good gift can become an idol. So I appreciated seeing you use moderation. You’re educated to know what might be better, but you live within your means. Well done, mama!

Yes! Anything can become an idol. We can’t live for food- only for Christ. Food will never bring us ultimate satisfaction or peace with God. Only Christ can. ❤️ Feeding our families is a good work we do faithfully, but we can’t obsess. Thank you for the good reminder, sister!

We have stuck with the whole foods as well. A few months ago I dropped all of the organic to use that money to continue to buy many veggies and fruits still. We all do what we can to feed our families the best we can. It is honest and needed discussion for people on one income for sure. I would now love to see how you use this through the week.

Yes! We all have to make choices when it comes to which foods we buy and how we steward our money. If it doesn’t fit the perfect standard, that’s ok. Blessings to you and your family! ❤️
I’m planning to do some more videos showing how I use all of this. Hopefully it will be helpful in some way!

Hi Peggy ☀️ Thank you for sharing your haul with us. Can you share what you do for the snacky type foods that are usually packaged?

For snacks we usually have fruit, dried fruit, a smoothie, carrots, or on occasion a baked good I’ve made or popcorn or crackers. We don’t usually have a lot of prepackaged things. If my kids ask for a snack, I see it as an opportunity to get some fruit into them. 😂 Trying to stick to whole foods the majority of the time.
