I am 60 years old from Taiwan. When I was in elementary school, Taiwan’s TV broadcast had just begun for three years. LAUREL AND HARDY was my favourite show. Of course, all the dialogue was translated into Chinese.
Well I can tell you one thing Oliver may have been hated over in England which I don't think he was I just think that somebody talkin but I can tell you this Stanley of Laurel and Hardy is not buried in England he's buried in the United States so England man hated Oliver but I think Stanley hated England why else would he be buried in the United States and not his homeland that says a lot
Simply brilliant. Amazing how a film from over 80 years can still make people laugh out loud. That’s the true power of Laurel and Hardy. Their films gain more fans in each new generation. My 7 year old nephew thinks they’re hilarious
I believe that true comedy is timeless. And Laurel and Hardy were two of the very, very best comedians of all time. It's a real shame that, owing to them being in black and white (or the unconvincingly re-coloured versions) that they are so rarely shown on modern TV that todays audiences probably have mostly never even heard of Stan and Ollie, let alone seen their shorts and full length movies.
I really loved those two guys all my life. Still looking at their movies now and then, and still laughing like before. They really were two angels, for bringing us so much happiness.
My 11-year-old daughter loves these comedy duo classics from 1930s/40s. I grew up watching these actors, despite being a 70s child. Others I love are Harold Lloyd and Buster Keaton. Hardy's classic camera look at supposed audience after an incident is so wonderful to watch, along with Stan's ability to always get in a pickle and look innocent! Connected with the audience then, as it does today. 👔🎩 💖
Hilarious! Pure genius! The best, brilliant comedy duo ! Wonderful childhood memories of watching re-runs over and over. Love seeing these again. Thank you!
Chris Evens (real name Josh Ackbar) - all of England condemns you unreservedly because you have the brain of a rat. You may denigrate England while living in Chicago, but England rejects filth like you.
I watched this with my sister in Italy when we were children....such fond memories. The ending was so sad. In the Italian version they don't say anything grumpy at the end, instead the movie ends with them being happy to be together again.
36:41 The most wonderful feature in so many Laurel and Hardy movies... Oliver Hardy's blessed singing voice, and they let it be a part of their goofy comedies... this song alone is the most replayed scene for me in all their movies...
Jean Parker was simply gorgeous. That being said every once in a while I get tired of all the car chase and armed robbery videos here on youtube. These Laurel and Hardy movies always do me a lot of good. They put a smile on my face.
Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, you are stil the best....Austin Power...Monty Python,Blackadder and Louis de Funes I will never forget, and enjoy soo much like many more comedians....but Laurel and Hardy you got a special place in my heart, forever and ever....I am sure people will find joy in their movies till thevend of times....may God bless you....
Thank you for this precious upload....made me laugh like old great times...older fam members use to watch this hilarious duo as I grew up...they recreated them in the cinema lately with new characters...glad I missed it...'such comedy genius will never be matched' 'the old ways are the best!'
Legends in the movies RIP lads you made me laugh every Saturday morning in the movie theatre in the Sgt mess "Bahrain" I will never forget how talented you both where God bless you both.

Stan laurel used to write most of the screen plays for the movies and he always wrote good parts for 'Oli'. When Stan was very old and Oil had passed away, Stan's wife said that Stan would watch the old movies and say that 'Oli' was the funniest man he had ever met.
Thanks for putting this excellent print up. As much as I love L&H there seems to be much missing if the production was not done by the Hal Roach Lot of Fun along with the great music composed by Roy Shields and Marvin Hately featured in those Roach L&H comedies.
Thank you.. Lord Heath.... this is the best of the best from our boy's. ... had it on VHS loan it out never returned. .. thanks again and Mery Christmas. .
Those two with their ability to break the fourth wall and let us in on the jokes gave inspiration to the Warner Brothers cartoons and tex Avery to do likewise
Some how i felt really sad for oli in this one. He falls for a girl and she costs him his life in the end. Seeing Stan walking alone in the end he just looked lost poor fella. They were the best and there will never be another Stan and Oli. 💜💜😊⚘⚘😁👍🏽
When I first saw this film..in 1959 on NYC tv..20 years after it was first released..I was added at seeing poor Ollie..getting killed in that plane crash..then I got scared ..when he came back to life as a talking horse..(at that time..I was too young to know..what reincarnation was?)..but..when I became older and I understood the significance of that scene and Stan's belief in that religious situation..I enjoyed the loving fantasy of the scene. And I saw it..before"Mr.Ed"debuted on tv..2 years later.
You face Execution in the morning. You spend the night before turning your bed into a harp and playing it. Hahahaha hahahaha!!!! What an attitude to Life. Amazing
The thing that made them so funny was the facial expressions. Much like Johnny Carson, who could also pull off that “confused” expression, which so many of us just loved. That kind of talent is born not developed. I will always hold dear memories of me and my dad watching the old Laurel and Hardy movies and laughing through them all. Nothing dirty or no backdoor insults - just good clean comedy. Something lacking in today’s jaded society.
I'm up at 3:43am in bed laughing my head off. Ollie: If you think your going to get that much work out of me to work for 3 cents a day brother your crazy.😂😂😂❤
Absolutely fantastic. I haven’t laughed as much since before lockdown. They were brilliant and will continue to make people laugh for many years to come. 👍🏻😂🤣😂
Finding a laurel and hardy clip or movie you have never seen before is like finding gold
True 😂😂❤

THE best comedy duo to have ever lived and will ever live. Enough said!
What about Abbott and Costello?
"Well, here's another nice mess you've gotten me into!" ;)
Ed Holohan nope. Not by a long shot.
All of England condemns you unreservedly because you have the brain of a rat! England loves Stanley, but not Oliver who was American

I never get tired of these. When I was a kid in the 70's I would check these Laurel and Hardy films out at the library.
In the 90s were popular, tv , vhs with newspapers...

Well said Chris Evans, well said, and so very true.
I remember my granda having this on an old VHS tape, great memories in the early nineties watching this iconic duo
Nothing I can add except to say they will never be duplicated! A great team and great comedy! Thanks for all the good times!

Oh how I love these boys. So glad someone kept the records
16:50 . . . Ollie's reaction and his line to Stanley is one of the very funniest and most subtle things I've ever seen.
Thanks for this beautiful performance by Laura l and Hardy. The Best
I will always love you angels😢You were THE BEST!!!😢
Miss them.so much

"Welp, that's that. No use crying over split milk."
🤣🤣🤣
Stan had such hilarious one-liners.
“ I’ve waited on you with your hands and feet”
Loved the boys when I was a kid. Now I am a kid of 77 years old and I still love the boys.
Love it when Stan turns the prison bedstead into a harp ... only he could do that lol. Sheer comic genius.
then play i cant wait for the blessed dawn to come when thats when theyre gonna be shot priceless
Amazing Scene
Oh i suspect Harpo Marx would have done similar!
Thanks for sharing...had such a lovely time watching Stan and Ollie at their best. Thank you dear boys, for all the happiness you brought to my life.
This is what I call Geniuses of comedy !!!! You can watch them in any century 😉😂😁😁😁
..and in any COUNTRY.
@@vidhushekhar17 Exactly what I was going to say.x
"This tunnel leads to the outside, we're making our escape!
Are we allowed to do that?" LOL!!!
That's what people nowadays would say. Sheepish times
I recognised Charles Middleton who played Ming the merciless in Flash Gordon tv series ! xx
Oh yes lol
Bring back the years 🤔 2019 when life was full of laughter
Always loved them and always will.
Old Good times, Forever will be missed!!
Dear Laurel and Hardy,
Your FAN FOLLOWING transcends time and space.
You are loved and will always be loved all around the WORLD.
LOVE FROM INDIA.
Classic comedy by two of the best actors and comics of all time.
Truly two great legends of comedy
The commandant is a great actor. He plays the part to perfection.

The real natural comedy that flows out of innocence. A million times better than all the rubbish that passes off as comedy today. Timeless. Priceless.
My favorite childhood movie with my favorite actors! I bet I have seen this 50 times and it gets better each time!
I like how doves fly up and out of Ollie's grave before his ascension.
Then in the next scene, Stan performs a tribute to Chaplin's Little Tramp.
Stan is so funnie.he is so child like.he is brilliant..I don't know what I love more, when he is laughing or when he is crying.
Legends in the movies RIP lads you made me laugh every Saturday morning in the movie theatre in the Sgt mess "Bahrain" I will never forget how talented you both where God bless you both.
When I was a baby , my mother would play Laurel & Hardy on the telly , just to keep me quiet .
I Love Laurel And Hardy.💝
They're DEAD
Me too.💝

Meaning?
Somehow this never gets old.
Stan. " Where are we going?"
Oliie. "This tunnel leads to the outside wall. We are making our escape."
Stan. "Well are we allowed to do that?" Lol!!!
Shawshank Redemption would've been a bit different with Stan as the protagonist.
Thanks for uploading, love to see these films. They truly were the best
Since the upload (6 years ago) the film has since been released on Blu-Ray and looks quite stunning. :)
I just adore them! They are immortal!
Stan laurel used to write most of the screen plays for the movies and he always wrote good parts for 'Oli'. When Stan was very old and Oil had passed away, Stan's wife said that Stan would watch the old movies and say that 'Oli' was the funniest man he had ever met.
Stan Laurel was 67 when Oliver Hardy died. Very old?
never met Oliver Hardy--but he is the funniest man who ever stepped in front of a camera......
Stan also wrote material years after Oli had passed away, even though it would never see the light of day.
0¡lm,
If 67 is "very old," I'm in big trouble!!!!!!!!
Thanks for putting this excellent print up. As much as I love L&H there seems to be much missing if the production was not done by the Hal Roach Lot of Fun along with the great music composed by Roy Shields and Marvin Hately featured in those Roach L&H comedies.
Hardy: what a pickle we're in - shot at sunrise!
Laurel: I hope it's cloudy tomorrow. 😂😂😂
classic isnt it lol
Best line in the movie
the rejection at 10:30 ... every man has had at least one in his life.
Whoever gave this movie a thumbs down has no sense of humor
I love Laurel & Hardy. I could watch it over and over. :-)
Same
brilliant. in 2019 it's great to watch real comedy without CGI crap, and the wordings/ sayings are just as todays
Thank you.. Lord Heath....
this is the best of the best from our boy's. ... had it on VHS loan it out never returned. .. thanks again and Mery Christmas. .
+Jason Wilson "our boy's" what?
"Stan and Ollie" or "The Boys" complemented each other perfectly. ... I'm Mr. Hardy, and this is my friend, Mr. Laurel.
Jason Wilson Do you like Sons of the Desert?
Times changed, now they use first names.@@orgami100
@@lukeswall5999 liked anything from Lauren & Hardy..

It's remarkable how coordinated and agile the two of them were. It's not easy to come off so clumsy, but they make it a comedic dance. Genuis
'Are we allowed to do that?' 😂😂😂😂
Fitting for our time
Lol
Some how i felt really sad for oli in this one. He falls for a girl and she costs him his life in the end. Seeing Stan walking alone in the end he just looked lost poor fella. They were the best and there will never be another Stan and Oli. 💜💜😊⚘⚘😁👍🏽
What about that one where by the end Oli had died and been reincarnated as a horse. Stan didn't seem terribly upset then, the insouciant numpty...
Oh fuck this probably is that one. This is what comes of having watched Laurel and Hardy since the 1970s.
@@garethbeare7319 😂😂thier still making us scratch our heads hey 👌🏽
Stan to me kind of looked content at the end walking as a hobo, but still happy to see Oli even if he was now a horse.
He looked so happy to have his buddy by his side again....for life
The great james finlayson aswell , who's in many of their films.
I am sure that there will not be another inimitable and immortal duo even in next millineum.
"Now, when I count 3 we'll both jump in!" lol
Laurel and Hardy were genius in comedy. Future generations shall find this as funnay as we did.
My Mum introduced me to these two and they have always made me laugh, even to the point I am laughing out loud, and this movie was the first I saw :).
“There’s a nice pickle we’re in - shot at sunrise”

Funniest duo of all time. Made comedy out of thin air.

Can't beat laurel and hardy so funny all there movies have me in stitches
Stan laurel's parody of Hapro Marx playing the harp is hilarious😂
What a sensational movie better than now current Hollywood
The song that Stan plays on the "harp" is "The World is Waiting for the Sunrise", very appropriate since they will be shot at dawn.
This is comedy. Classic. Timeless.
No F-bombs. No snarky jokes about the POTUS.
Stan and Oli forever.
I'm up at 3:43am in bed laughing my head off. Ollie: If you think your going to get that much work out of me to work for 3 cents a day brother your crazy.😂😂😂❤
Probably my favorite comedy movie along with some Abbott and Costello creations and "A Night at the Opera" featuring the Marx Brothers.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful movie.
The very first feature film of the Laurel and Hardy franchise I ever saw (I saw a Laurel and Hardy short beforehand called Be Big). Pretty good film.
Absolutely fantastic!!!!!

Hello beautiful queen how are you doing today I hope you are doing well and I really appreciate you being my fans 💓💓💓💓💓
I will admit, that the part from 16:20 to 16:43 made my eyes water slightly.
I like how good of a friend Stan is to Ollie when Georgette rebuffs him. We all need a buddy like Stan
