I was working the UP desk at VF 124 and I wasn't sure how to pronounce his name.I said how do l pronounce your name Sir and he said just call me Nasty. I called him Nasty from then on. Awesome Officer.
Amazing how so many of these guys are so down to Earth and inspiring. If I’d been smart enough to finish college that’s the career I wanted to pursue and seeing the type of people you’d be working with confirms what an incredible life it would have been.
Night Qualed in the A7 on the Connie off San Diego in 80. Thickest fog I saw in my career. One guy went missed approach off the starboard side of the ship. Never saw a thing. Hell of a night
Excellent story about a real leader! Nasty reminds me of our E8 Senior Chief in a much less glamorous slot, Machinist Mate on an old WWII era Destroyer in '72. He had that "way" to incent, raise up, lead by example and take the time, usually his time, to assist even further someone struggling on certain watch stations i.e. Throttles during GQ etc. Chief Chris. May you rest in peace for eternity Chief.
We could listen to Stories about Nasty all day long and never get bored. What an amazing man!
Gotta love Nasty. He looks after people, of all departments on the boat.

Way too many people worried about themselves and forget that they are really there to support each other. Leadership 101
Don't know Nasty but from the interviews we need more of his kind in this world.
Admiral Nasty. Love seeing him on Mooch's channel.
Seen a lot video between this platform and ward Carrol. Seems like a good guy! The guy you want guiding you home on those nasty black stormy nights!
Wacko speaks from experience!
