    Great job on the review and video. I always love feeling like I have a couch coop buddy even though we’ve never met. You really deliver a great vibe. I can honestly say I’ve been a fan of yours for years. Meeting all of your friends and animals over the years while you spoke to us about games and reminisced about nostalgic experiences. A lot of us myself included have lost the friends we once couch coop played with. You better than anyone have always delivered content that always made me feel a little like I made a friend and get to go on journeys with. Anyway I’m no weirdo but I’ve watched and enjoyed through a lot of good and bad and this channel has been a bit of a rock for me. Thank you for the great content over the years and thank you for selflessly devoting your time to giving a bunch of potential losers out there a friend to hang out with for a few minutes and feel back to normal again. All the best to you and your family.

    Great video! Here's how I approach the difficulty for Forza games. The key to winning is tuning your cars. You don't need to max out your cars, but you should max them out for the level you wish to compete at (D, C, B, A...). The tuning can get quite complex, but luckily you don't have to do it yourself. Makes it easy when learning. Head to the festival or your house, get in the car you want to modify, go to upgrades and tuning, find tuning setups, press what used to be the select button on your controller to search, and select the class you want to race at. I find lower classes easier due to the slower speeds which give you more time to react to turns and obstacles. Then modify the race difficulty to your liking. If you find that you're losing or struggling perhaps the tune you've selected doesn't have a high enough top speed, acceleration, handling, etc. Or the car you've selected simply isn't the best for that class. Best of luck and I'm sure you'll be crushing those higher difficulties in no time.

    • @TechWithSean
      @TechWithSean 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For me it helps to stick with A or B tier races until you get good too. The races will scale to match you against the same rank of car, you don’t need to always pick the fastest one you have.

    • @dnizy
      @dnizy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed the tuning can make a huge difference. Case in point, the other day I was really struggling with a race on a wet road track when I realised the car had a drag tyre setup. The car was sliding all over the place and was near impossible to control. Changed it to a different setup with more suitable tyres etc and the race was easy in comparison.

    As a mexican myself i love this game representing so well and detailed my own country and i love traveling trough it without much care, slamming trees, driving off cliffs and hitting speeds i would never ever come close to do irl (for obvious reasons), being the main reason why i love my racing games being more arcade-y.
    So yeah, this game just hits the right exact spot for being the racing game i was expecting since it was announced, it is just so much fun and looks impressive every time.

      12 miles in 0:17:34= 41MPH average. The graphics and feel are amazing, but something is off with the distance or timing. By my estimation, even with that 2 bad turns, he averaged well over 100MPH. He spent less than 25 seconds under 41MPH the entire race. The math don't add up. My math says this race is over 30 Miles long.

    Agree about the difficulty curve. I'm not very good at racing games. But do also love the barn finds, danger sign jumps, photographing all the cars and trying to find all the bonus boards, which seem to have alot more that are harder to get compared to the ones in the previous Forza 4 game.

  • @Clippers0507
    @Clippers0507 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Nice video, MJ. Few things:
    1) You can def do the Goliath race as often as you want. I'm not at my computer now, so i can't show you how but either you have to go back to the location on the map (not that treasure type map) or you can just drive there.
    There's five "boss" races coresponding to the race type. Colossus is road, Gauntlet is Dirt, Titan is Cross Country, and danggit, i forgot what the Street one is called, and Goliath is all three (excluding street, since there's no traffic). And you can reply them as much as you and and even edit them to be multiple laps as a custom race.
    2) The arcade-y handling you're talking about can be done. There's extensive options for steering that you can tweak, not to mention tuning each car to drive like you're saying. Maybe a better thing would be to have steering options sharable, like the tuned cars, because it can be tedious to try to get the settings you want.
    3) FH4 was in Great Britain, not England. 😝

    in my experience at greater difficulties is important to chose the right car with the right tuning, I'm not a tuner, but if you search and buy a tuning that seem to be appropiate it will help you a lot, and change the car acording to the race also help, is not the best idea to use a ferrari in cross country unless you have a very especial tuning to that.

    I usually play on above average and sometimes highly skilled but it's very challenging to win. Every Forza game whether motosport or horizon, has incredible marathon races. Forza motosport 7 elite series races have 100 lap races around 4 mile long tracks. It took me 4 hrs to get through that absolutely brutal. For only a 50 gp achievement. Should've been like 200 points. But Forza Horizon is definetly the most magnificent of all racing games for sure. Completed all races in FH5 can't wait for the expansion to come out too.

    You gotta play tag it’s fun turn damage off and turn off maps and gaming tags and you got to find where you at or you could play with a mic with a group party and play infected where you go to the soccer field and one person is it and the whole group go in circles and or drive away try not to get caught then when you get caught or hit by another car your it and join his team to get others and the second person is it the next round but you can’t leave the soccer field lol it’s mad fun if you have a group more than 4 people or play cops and robbers or do a race in the street to see who’s the fastest also doing meet ups and do drifting but yeah you need to Practice on your driving a little bit and dressing and thinking turns you don’t have to go slow every corner so you won’t crash just got a learn the time in and turning and going fast at the same time

    This isn't an arcade game. It's sim-cade. The physics...It simulates body roll, tire traction (including tire heat), suspension travel and bumps, wheel alignment, aerodynamic, transmission gearing...etc
    It doesn't punish you like a full on simulation which is why this game is way more approachable than say motorsport or Gran Turismo.

    If you get a good tuning setup you can hit turns quite fast. A lot of the cars characteristics can be changed by upgrading and tuning. For example i have a friend that has a muscle car that will blow the doors off that Lambo. Theres a lot of customization that can been done with all the cars. Then the difficulty can be raised with the settings and more specifically the assists. If you want to really dive into the game i suggest checking out some of the many teams that are about. Most of them are really friendly and will be more than willing to show you the ropes. Might give you more of an appreciation and perspective on the motorsport side of things as well. You might meet up with some of the worlds fastest people too.

  • @94Jyraya
    @94Jyraya 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Cool to see you're having fun. But what do you mean by easy and normal? The assist settings? Because that only changes how your car drives. If you find the AI too fast, or too slow, you should tweak the drivatar difficulty. There are 9 of those in the game, so I'm sure you'll find a speed for them you like.

  • @Staatus_Quo
    @Staatus_Quo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do things to incrementally increase the difficulty for yourself. Turn off traction control, then try ABS, etc. Each one of those count as a difficulty setting, and give you more points per race. Once you master the cars without TCS and ABS, you'll be skilled enough to move onto a harder difficulty. Plus, disabling the TCS will vastly improve your drift game!

    I am very happy with FH5 for the most part. It’s nice driving on the right side of the road for a change in these games. I know you’re a big fan of racing games so I think your comments about the difficulty range are funny. I’m not the best racer, but on these I turn all driver assists off except for abs, use manual with clutch only, and have the drivatar difficulty set to highly skilled and generally don’t have much trouble. It really is just having the right car with the right tune for the track.
    The only real complaint I have is the same as every Forza game. The devs do not patrol the leaderboards at all. People use speed glitches and cheat the records. So even though I can get really high up on the leaderboards I’ll never be where I should be because of all the cheating.

    Awesome video MJR. FH5 is a masterpiece and its the only game I've been playing since launch. it fixed alot of my problems about the previous title specially the car sounds and the location. It isn't perfect though like any other game it has some bugs here and there, the AI, and the online is not the best. But overall I mainly play single player and just enjoy driving, completing the car collection and festival playlist. The community on reddit can get toxic though there is alot of minor complaints that get blown out of proportion and make the game look like the next Cyberpunk 2077, maybe its just the vocal minority.

I suck worse using a controller and even worse when using one of the external views instead of cockpit modes. You're killing it in this race. I'm going to start and hopefully progress in earnest now on my XBOne after taking a bit of time to set up the wheel properly (versus no setup at all previously)

    Metal Jesus, you can change several difficulty options to get more XP but can keep AI very low in talent. That will make it better or worse overall. I reccommend super easy AI, and several simulation style options. Pick hard or normal, but lower the AI. Or, vice versa for tougher AI races. Traction control always a necessity!

Just wondering about the difficulty; I am not that great when I play in the standard third person camera mode but when I switch to first person, I am able to play on 'Above Average' as I find first person more fun and easier to control the car, like as if you were driving an actual car. So I was just wondering if you have played in first person and what are your thoughts on it?

      @@MetalJesusRocks thanks for the reply man! It's absolutely insane what this next generation of consoles can do. I'm playing on a new computer with an an RTX 3060, and pretty sure the series x visuals are better. I would like to upgrade to at least a 3070ti at some point, but until card prices come down, screw that :P
      Getting better visuals in a 500 dollar console than a 1700 dollar (inflated because of gfx card prices but still applies) PC is absolutely wild man.

    You can search blueprint races that people have made and someone may have remade the goliath in that and it should be located on the map the proper race but if you can't find it that's the other way. People created these long races for money farming like they may have made same one with a lot more laps

    Maybe I'm wrong since I didn't play Forza for too long but isn't there a little menu where you can set how "arcady" you want Forza to be? I think is like "drive assist" maybe it's not the same thing.

    You seem to be a little too impressed with something the first game was doing all the way back on the 360 where you can drive anywhere and everywhere with no loading screens. I don't remember if there was any 12 or 30 mile race but the idea you can drive from one end of a massive map to the other without any technical limitations has always been there for the Horizon series.

    Forza horizon 4 was NOT set in England, it was set in the UK hence Edinburgh making an appearance. Love your content, just want to make sure you know the difference between England vs the UK

    12 miles in 0: 17 :34= 41MPH average. The graphics and feel are amazing, but something is off with the distance or timing. By my estimation, even with that 2 bad turns, he averaged well over 100MPH. He spent less than 25 seconds under 41MPH the entire race. The math don't add up. My math says this race is over 30 Miles long.
