I had my 3rd upper & lower molars (wisdom teeth) extracted on my right side of my face a few years ago...and I can tell you for sure it has impacted my jawline symmetry. The right side of my jaw/cheeck sags a little more now without the support of my molars. So be careful and don't believe everything the doctors tell you (there's a huge business with removing wisdom teeth). Your face will look better with all of your teeth.

Is it possible that have them out has improved your hollow cheeks? (or your hollow cheek** just on that side) or perhaps if you extract the ones on the other side would fix this asymmetry maybe? and are your teeth crowded or they are perfectly aligned?

Giovanni Federici I disagree. Wisdom teeth are removed for a reason. If you left them in, they will push in your other teeth and everything will become crooked. Save your time and money from braces.

my face changed very badly after the orthodontic treatment with extractions. missing premolars made me old. in my country, dentistry has not reached the level where the spaces can be reopened. Every day I think I can't turn back time and I analyze my face in the mirror and I don't like what I see. It is very depressing to know that I could have avoided this and now I have no solution. My whole life is affected because I no longer have the confidence in myself that I had before extractions.

22 year old here. What you said resonates very well with me. I remember when the orthodontist held up a mirror to my face after I got my braces off and asked if I liked what I saw and I said yes even though it felt like a lie. After researching Mew's stuff everything makes so much sense now. Orthodontist s are ruining so many lives. The only comfort is thinking about the future, one where we have better faces and orthodontics is a laughing stock of the past.
Seriously though I believe that in the future people will think of orthodontics like how we think of using leechs in the middle ages to treat diseases.

Yes if you experience this: there is no solution but it is a reckoned phenomenon. It happens due to bone loss from missing teeth.
Teeth out is a permanent and significant looksmin unless you fill the gap with good dental implants early enough (which means a few weeks after extraction).

For anyone freaking out, I got my wisdom teeth removed in January 30th, today is September 16, I have always had a super defined jawline and IMO great face structure. My wisdom teeth were impacted but they hadn’t grown in at all yet and were not causing me issues yet even slightly, I got all of them removed and my face has absolutely no change. I would say I also have a pretty masculine face as well. However I have been unknowingly mewing my entire life and I eat a lot of hard food and just eat a lot in general so my jaw muscles be always working so that can have a huge role in this too.

How old are you? I got mine removed at age 22 basically almost 23 since my birthday was in june and got em out in april. I think if u got them removed before 20 when they dont grow in as much its not as big of a deal.
The cheekbone and hollowness lines have disappeared from my face, i literally used to have hollywood features, my face used to look hyper masculine yet ever since removing them my face sags i look older like i aged, and my jaw went from being straight to being more slabted down, its like my lower face elongated and i lost my facial width. Really not happy with results, i got before and after pictures and also my lower half of my face looks slightly asymmetrical now. Just because it didnt happen to u doesnt mean it doesnt to other ppl. Any type of tooth removal will cause bone loss. And i had retraction with braces at 13-14, with the rubber bands, this only seems to happen if you have had braces. My cheekbones dont even pop out anymore like they used to. So fuckin pissed at the surgeon who told me oh it wont change ur face. Well maybe not for most ppl but everyones jaw and skull is different.

@@BigG2023I really think you’ll be fine. John mew the og was really on point in this video. Wisdom teeth extraction alone is not enough to mess up your face. If you maintain good tongue air way posture, you won’t lose what you have. I think allot of it comes down to why your wisdom teeth had to be removed in the first place, did you just have a minor issue, or was your face actually recessed. Allot of people seem to be blaming the wisdom tooth removal for issues that really go beyond that one procedure. Just make sure you heal good and strong. Many really good looking people have had their wisdom teeth extracted, Brad Pitt included. I consider myself a good looking guy, and I had mine done at your age. To be real with you though, in an ideal world we probably would have had bigger mouths to accommodate the wisdom teeth, but at the end of the day, if you look good and are healthy then consider yourself lucky.

I got 5 (4 wisdom) teeth extracted and mewing literally saved my a**. I do have a little bit of a sunken in lip area (probably from my inward pulling fixed retainers too) but what triggers me the most is my left side, were I got one normal tooth extracted, being more narrow and with that extra wisdom tooth also having a lil bit of a hollow cheek on that side. But mewing kept my face forward, short and gave me some nice high, prominent cheekbones. I can’t imagine how much worse it would have been with a bad tongue posture.

Yes, it does. It should be made liable, especially when they tell you at the very last minute what "could" happen before shoving some papers in your face. I went in for an infection that was causing pain and came out with a different face. Came from pscyo parents and there's no way I could have backed out after a certain point without one of them losing their shit on me. Plus, I was in terrible pain due to the infection. I know now diet change and antibacterial, natural, mouthwash removes my infection. But to get my face back, I'd have to grow back 5 teeth. These people told me after I woke up that I had an "extra" tooth besides the molar and they took that one out, too. I've always looked young for my age and now in my thirties I have lines from top to bottom on the weaker side of my face that is unsupported by a tooth in the lower jaw. The other side has more teeth 😔. I grew up in an abusive home with a narcissist mother who was traumatized by sexual abuse and this turned into her demeaning me if I ever focused on my looks or tried to take care of my face, wear makeup, look good on my own, etc. To give you a clearer picture, instead of having a spa day with mom as a little girl, I was beaten when she found out I played in her high heels and tried on her jewelry. The day of my first kiss in preschool, which I'm pretty sure my teacher told her about, I was beaten for spilling removable nail polish on the seat of her car. Even outside of the home, back then in my middle school, girls were always targeted when they looked good and didn't get some jerk of a boyfriend who could easily trash them and abuse them, to protect them. One had her haircut by other girls, another with big boobs was molested in front of the other kids. My looks were like a hidden part of me I expected to use when financially independent and bury at all costs until that point with baggy clothes, tomboyish ways, etc. I literally would dream that one day I could be like other girls and take care of myself and feel good about looking good instead of always put on a face of low-self esteem. Eventually, I forgot those dreams, forgot appreciating clothes and makeup, but still didn't know what I'd lost after surgery until learning in ways that affected me financially.
Cut forward years in time where I work in the media industry, media for cosmetic surgery and dentists, and I have co-workers that make a big deal of me not looking good enough in photos taken and videos taken to play the role I need to play. Cut forward to when videos, photos, and public profiles can secure me a job as a journalist in publishing. Even today, I passed up a beauty brand opportunity because they require photos and I can't get a decent one without a roll of 20. Any "decent" pic is nothing compared to what I used to look like which I never got to experience as a positive thing separate from abuse. I'm African American as well; my beauty was tied to being vulnerable or sexual, whenever it was acknowledged then, not safe and on a pedestal. I've dealt with being called a man on the job (which I can't completely separate from racism or decipher whether my now long jaw is connected) and, before due to colorism, being treated better when I looked lighter, aka not really having my, then, symetrical features acknowledged as "classically" attractive in comparison to people without it until I was less dark via weather or my nose looked narrower in photos. What I know for sure is I never had to take more than one photo to look fine and that despite these barriers to being acknowledged directly beautiful, people always showed me that I was attractive sexually, even if it wasn't the attractive they felt should be celebrated or on the highest pedestal. Today, with less colorism and leftover imperialism mind Fu*ks (facial features bias), I look like a completely different person regardless of society wising up: sickly with a lopsided, too-long, face. That's nothing compared to how I was treated in the medical field and the impact to my gut after a night of food poisoning and subsequent abuse in hospitals. I feel extremely cheated by these people and these dental and medical industries that continue to minimize the impact of their actions. It's extra abusive shit to deal with that takes one of the sorely needed advantages I was given at birth, a healthy body or an attractive face, and just erases it. Also, I had the retractions done in my twenties. The Universe had already decided I needed to be cute, correctly, because I've lost many opportunities since then and stand to lose more that are alternative to dealing with abuses in the workforce, unless I become cool with looking like Gollam in photos. Even interviewing would have been easier for me if I could have retained the looks I was given at birth. It was the know it all medical professionals who took it upon themselves to ruin it, one if them sharing that he wanted* to remove an extra tooth to give me braces and fix an imperfection* (canines hidden in my my lips that don't perfectly match up and are unseen,* yet resulted in the smallest of barely noticeable overbites that I easily fixed by smiling to show my lower row and balance it). There's no amount of bad posture present in my late twenties that wasn't already there in my early ones. There's no excuse for their behavior.

So now your face has some irreversible asymmetry to it. But since you only got 1 tooth extracted, technically it won’t do much harm to your overall facial structure as your other wisdom teeth come in SO LONG as your palate has enough space for it(mew, or get a palate expander). To counteract the asymmetry, I’d try working on the musculature of your face. You’re not in a bad position. Mew and chew

    • @youtubecommentsguy9805
      @youtubecommentsguy9805 ปีที่แล้ว +3

The face is only full and youthful if you have 32 teeth (no matter erupted or unerupted). If you lost a tooth and wisdom tooth replaced it is as if you pulled the wisdom tooth or lost a tooth. No matter if the gaps are filled. Facial appearance from teeth is not about gaps it‘s about having all teeth in your mouth.
I think mewing improves everyone but it will not undo the damage.
Chewing is only very very minimally effective (close to useless in my opinion, the massetter won‘t hypertrophy in a way we would love to - Luka Marchesi eg is fake)
Solution: none. One tooth lost is not the end of the world. See it as this; now you have one side that is better than the other. (The one with all teeth) At least you have that.

I've considered it. But there's risks involved with foreign objects in the body and you know how much many dentists will deny Mercury/anything synthetic being bad for the brain and body. I wouldn't trust the same people and process that caused the problem to be the solution for it. There is a jaw training device that is exterior only. If you were to have a non invasive implant that could just fill a spot that might help... I don't know, but I can tell you that the result got worse overtime, so maybe taking action now (without Mercury) is a good idea

@@projectmoke I assume you are talking about the two premolar teeth on the top, because the front teeth i.e. the incisors and canines are extremely important and are only removed in rare cases.
Your fear is rational, it will affect your facial shape and jawline because the extraction will inevitably lead to aveolar ridge bone reduction. In case of premolar extraction, it leads to vertical reduction of your face. Unless it is really required, and it is not something which affects your life in terms of eating, breathing, and facial profile, I would say do not go for it.
That said, I am just a random stranger on the internet and your dentist is a professional, so take it with a grain of salt. But dentists do not really care about your facial profile in my experience, and only your teeth. Hence they don't warn you about bone reduction.

I gotten an upper second premolar removed and about 2 and a half months in, that side of my face started to look thinner than it does on the other side with no missing teeth(except wisdoms) my lower jaw still look the same before the extraction though

Yes. Mewing will NOT (!!!) fix this damage. It‘s still good to do but only option is getting implants.
