Lovely place. Absolute stunning. All the inventory what left behind is surprising. If I could afford it, I would buy this house. I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for making this video 👍😁
Emily is a much braver girl than me. The thought of rats, mold, and cobwebs would freak me out. I’m so glad the two of you do these so I can explore via TH-cam. Hope y’all are having a great day. Thanks for the fun video. 👍
she's intrepid! i think Emily's actually braver than me we are happy to get out there and film these fascinating places so you guys can see them from a much comfortable place to watch , hope your weekend is full of sunshine 😎🌞💛
The brasses hanging on the walls are horse brasses, they are hung on the harnesses of cart and plough horses. The black stuff in the chimney is the tar from burning house coal. The brass items on the shelf look like candle snuffers. The shield is just decorative, with the eagle on it I'd say possibly Russian. A Spinster is an unmarried woman, the painting looks like St Michaels Mount in Cornwall. When you said Luxembourg i assume it means Radio Luxembourg which was a radio channel I used to listen to in the 70's, I think it was a Pirate Radio Station. Sinclair Spectrum were one of the first home computers which were popular in the early eighties. The music box i would roughly date to the 1940's/50's. Most old houses especially ones in Wales would have a huge Bible that would get passed down through the family. That was a fascinating explore, thank you 😊
hey Bayla yea was lovely to see all the brass ornaments still in place it looks so authentic and i wonder how long they have been hung up there 🤔i couldn't live in a place that small i would crack my head everyday 😂thanks for watching and your loyalty to us 💛
The things around the fire are called horse brasses. Originally they were used as charm or amulets to ward off evil spirits and good bring luck. They used to be attached to various parts off the saddle etc.
they actually used to put those brass bits on horses?! to ward off evil spirits? that's really interesting i might have to look into them a bit more , great information thank you for your comment and watching 💛
The brass Belts are known by the term Horse Brasses. They used to adorn the saddlery and Dray leathers of the Dray Horse, in days gone by. Beautiful. More often seen now around lovely old fireplaces. Very collectible!
yes that mold was not good at all and even dangerous to breathe in, but yea the location was amazing too, thanks for watching Tracy and leaving a comment 💛
I've got a co-worker that puts the toilet paper on backwards all the time ON PURPOSE. It irks me every time so I change it whenever I use the bathroom.
Low ceiling were to help with keeping rooms warm. I live in an old farmhouse with 7' ceilings. I wonder if the man that lived there was the son and his mom and dad passed away. He then lived there alone.
makes sense about the low ceilings although i couldn't crouch around everywhere my back would give out lol nice theory could be true! thanks for watching and dropping a comment 💛
I've just added a comment to a random 😢ops Spinster is just a derogatory term for an older unmarried woman. And radio Luxembourg was a popular pirate radio station competing with the heavily controlled BBC radio stations
I'm a new viewer and quite Enjoyed the explore. Wanted to share that the music box looks like ones my sister and I had as children. And the large print Bible looks like one my parents gave me for my birthday. Thanks for sharing yalls explore, take care ❤from Georgia.
Those brass decorative pieces are known as horse brasses and during Roman times were worn by their horses …..Britain has a rich history of making horse brasses….. often made specially for coronations, and other important celebrations and occasions ….and if you visit some old British pubs they are hanging on the walls and above fireplaces, etc. Some are very valuable collectables ….. and reproductions are sold to tourists ….. the authentic ones are quite valuable . 🇨🇦👍🥰
The belts are called Martin Gayle's for the chest of a horse it connects to the belly gert comes up between the horses front legs an connects to each side of the saddle
Around the fireplace (WOW) there are hanging horse brasses. Three Large fireplaces like I have only seen in photos. Refreshing to Not see graffiti or such a collection of JUNK !
it actually seems someone did take over the abandoned property but did nothing with it and became abandoned once again, makes you wonder what the deeper problem is? thanks for watching and dropping a comment 💛
Just another observation as I was watching your interesting tour of this old home , both of you should be wearing N95 face masks to protect yourselves from breathing in mould spores ( very evident on the very large ‘Family Bible ) and dust and dry rodent poop almost always found in abandoned structures are very dangerous to breathe in . 🇨🇦🥰😷
it's only a title plus the shocking part is all subjective and different perspectives, what you find shocking may not shock another, cheers for watching
Wat a nice old farmhouse it would of been in the country aspinster is a old fashioned word for a woman who has not been married and Batchler is the unmarried name of a man crazy wat was left and it's a real shame about the old house and them Sinclair spectrum is worth good money now that's the first one they made i had one i had tapes to load games great explore
yes it was so surprising to see the old Sinclair system Emily is slightly too young to remember which i found funny but i remember a couple friends having one , thanks for stopping by Peter 💛
@LostAdventuresExploring I was driving around watching, paused it when I got to each job, so it took a little while to get through it, but definitely worth it 👌🏻 Horse Brasses were originally put on for dressage on the big "Shire/Plough" horses, But later became a household decorative item, with all manor of different scenes and items on them, nearly always black leather with Brass, The Brass 'strainer' Emily picked up, the 2 piece item, was indeed a 'Tea' leaf strainer 🍃 The 'Tar' like substance running down the walls at the back of the fireplace, Is 'Coal Tar' it builds up from the heat up in the chimney from the smoke, It happens more when the chimney has poor draw, meaning the smoke doesn't flow out the chimney quickly enough, Or often in that case, from a stove, that's allowed to burn too slowly, too often, and it doesn't get great airflow, making for a clean burn, so you get very dirty, sooty smoke going up the chimney, which builds up, and eventually causes what you see happening there 😉
@@MarkHossNorthwestrcclub wow yea it was really nice to see all the horse brasses still intact and where they should be! ahh so she was right when she said it was a strainer that's cool 😁 ahh great info on the tar we saw, we were wondering what was going on there so that clears that mystery up cheers my bro 💛💛💛

Great video! Keep up the good work!❤😊❤
thank you very very much 😁💛
Horse brasses were used to decorate horses .
that laurel and hardy-item is super-rare...just last month one sold at sotheby's for .....£9.000
I think the oil stuff from the chimney could be a build up of tar or bitumen i think it comes from burning certain wood & coal but not 100%
I would say some of the plates and the pitchers would be worth some money. Things like that in the US sell quickly.
A time capsule thanks for sharing . Stay safe while exploring guys
lovely to see no damage inside the building, thanks for watching and dropping a comment 💛
Really nice place Ben I enjoyed it 👀😀
hey Joseph glad you enjoyed this one it was a cool place to venture through 💛

Your girl is carrying a BIG backpack when leaving.
Why?...
I'm sorry but I really don't think it's safe to wear shorts and a bikini top into an abandoned house like this
emily, outfit, long socks and shoes 🫶 super 👍

Horse Brasses

Horse Brasses were originally put on for dressage on the big "Shire/Plough" horses,

The Brass 'strainer' Emily picked up, the 2 piece item, was indeed a 'Tea' leaf strainer 🍃
The 'Tar' like substance running down the walls at the back of the fireplace,
Is 'Coal Tar' it builds up from the heat up in the chimney from the smoke,
It happens more when the chimney has poor draw, meaning the smoke doesn't flow out the chimney quickly enough,
Or often in that case, from a stove, that's allowed to burn too slowly, too often, and it doesn't get great airflow, making for a clean burn, so you get very dirty, sooty smoke going up the chimney, which builds up, and eventually causes what you see happening there 😉
