Hi Les, the green will still offer protection for your tree. It has less reflective ability than the white, but creates a protective layer from direct light and pests
The biggest irony of this product made for plants is that if you use it then you cannot sell your produce and plants as vegan or dairy free (in case of any allergy) because of the milk in the ingredients. So absurd they include that...

do you need to remove any existing white wash before applying a new layer?
Nope! Just paint it straight on. It differs from latex paint in that it won't go on as a sheet

Why my mango tree bears, but the mangoes are young and the are busted on the tree, then rot and fall off.
Hi Bibi, I haven't yet had any fruit on my mango so I can't speak to that specifically. I hate it when fruit doesn't hang on the tree!
