I love this film... And would argue this was PM's golden era because they had better told stories and strong noir aesthetics. It may lack the flipping cars of something like The Sweeper ... But Films like Deadly Bet and Final Impact are superior pictures because of their storytelling. I call pictures from this PM era "Kickboxing noir"
In the last few months I've watched basically all the PM flicks from this era like Street Crimes and Final Impact, and I'm a big fan too. Each era of PM's output is markedly different and this one is perhaps the most unique of the lot.
@@INDEFENCEOF Awesome dude.. Yes, I should watch their earlier stuff too... Ever seen Shotgun Jones? As for their early 90's noir-influenced stuff, check this out cityonfire.com/kickboxing-noir-pm-entertainment-martial-arts-deadly-bet-final-impact-maximum-force-lorenzo-lamas-richard-peppin-joseph-merhi-ken-blakey/
I love Full Moon too! However I own lots of PM on bargain basement DVDs while my Full Moon stuff is all remastered on blu ray and I have no blu ray ripper. Otherwise I'd have reviews TONS more Full Moon by now!
Only thing I knew about this one before is just that it had Wincott and Daniels in it. It sounds great so I'll have to check it out. I've read a bit about PM and I'm interested in what you think of their late 90s-early 2000s output, right before their downfall.
I've not actually seen much! Recoil from 1998 is about it, and that's darn good. Nu Image start to up their game around the same time so when I think late 90s/early 2000s, that's how I think of.
@@INDEFENCEOF Yeah I don't think I could ever touch them. A Dangerous Place was originally meant to be Magic Kid 3, but as it has the explosive car chases, a mysterious group of teenage martial artists/midnight thieves led by Corey Feldman, who gives a very interesting performance, and a whole plot centres around TJ Roberts' character's brother joining the group and getting brutally murdered I can see why they changed it. Bonus points for starring Mako.
Great to see my fellow Brits doing these great review videos of some of my favourite films
You need to do more videos about Gary Daniels coz the dude is simply underrated.
If I'd had my way, every review would be a Gary Daniels flick.
@@INDEFENCEOF hell yeah! cant wait for your next upload and i hope its more Gary Daniels (Bloodmoon, Cold Harvest, White Tiger)
There was a time in my life where I was completely obsessed with this movie. I'm happy to see this movie getting some respect.
I still find myself thinking about it from time to time. There's a lot going on in this flick.

@@INDEFENCEOF Final Impact is one of their best.. Street Crimes is solid.
PM Entertainment movies were the best!
I maintain that they are due a mainstream rediscovery and at some point they're going to blow up with nostalgic reappraisal.
Your affection for PM Entertainment mirrors my own with Full Moon Features. Such treasures.

I just found your videos, they've put me on some fantastic movies. Thank for introducing to Rage.
No, thank you for watching Rage! It's probably 80% of why I started the channel and I will recommend it until the day I die.

@@INDEFENCEOF Recoil is probably the weakest PM film I've seen so far but it is still very good.
That means you're yet to watch their output for kids, like the Little Bigfoot movies. That's good. Keep it that way.

I watch every defended movie and I must say you have a great taste in films! Nice 1 🎥😊
Thanks for your support! There's no better feeling than knowing people actually go and watch the movies after I review 'em. :)
When will you post a new review or is this channel retired?
I'm done, no plans to come back. I still hang around responding to comments though!
