- Boss battles are perhaps the most crucial parts of most games. You've taken down all the underlings, and now it's time to face the big, bad leader. They come in all shapes and sizes - some are easy, some are tough, others are fun to battle, but there are plenty who will drive you insane as well.
In this series, I take an in-depth look at all the bosses from a game and share my thoughts and observations on each of them, along with advice on how to defeat them.
The forty-ninth episode of Boss Analysis is yet another video about boss shortcuts, with special guest RichardDS90.
Boss Short-cuts are what I called any special strategies that can instantly or almost-instantly kill a boss, or any strategies that make the boss incredibly easy. Some are intentional, some aren't, but in any case, they're always amazing to discover.

In Yugioh World Championship 2011, the final boss is Team New World, where you have to duel three people in a row and you start with a board that has Primo with a 6000 ATK monster. But the thing is, he has no cards in hand and you start with Sangan. You can easily remove his monster with Exiled Force (a card Sangan can search for you should you not open up with it) and take advantage of his lack of follow-up plays by drawing through your deck until you get all pieces of Exodia. With the way the WRGP works, the next two duelists will start the turn after you beat the previous one with 8000 LP, 5 cards in hand and whatever board state was left behind - this includes your hand with Exodia. So the moment Lester and Jakob follow up on Primo, they instantly get Exodia'd before they can do anything.
That's amazing! I don't know the rules of banned cards in there but if it lets you Exodia FTK and ZTK every opponent in that it's pretty funny
@@QuantemDeconstructor If you can out Wisel, you shouldn't be in a hurry to assemble Exodia - but there's some good speed spells like Shift Down to help you draw faster. None of the cards I mentioned are banned, so you're good to go.

The Legend Sword seems like it was meant to be a helping hand for struggling players but that fact that it's so exploitable is pretty funny.
So, Apparitor is smart enough to realize when he's been stabbed in the back but not smart enough to do anything about it? Looks like he deserved it, as only a fool would would not cover such a glaring weakness.

"Monster difficulties were also rebalanced, generally to make a few of the bosses easier to kill. However, bosses were also made more dangerous in that if they managed to hit Alundra, their blows were much more lethal. This lessened some of the boredom of the later bosses, where they really weren't much challenge to fight, but took forever to kill." I love it.

I wonder if "A victory without honor" should have appeared in Double Dragon if you defeat the level 2 boss by just climbing back down the ladders until he disappears from the screen.
i think it would be more of fleing the boss than winning without honor, some some kind of "GET BACK HERE, COWARD" mess or something like that would fit more

In Hollow Knight there is a boss called The Crystal Guardian. If you have the charm "dreamshield" you can stand next to him and do constant damage to him without him ever actually activating.

@@agent-0 If you want to split hairs about it Weaver song and Grimmchild are also options, I just initially mentioned what I used to pussy out of the fight.
I think Metal Gear Solid 3 has a clever boss shortcut. There's two possible shortcuts against The End, but the one that is well known is to save the game in the middle of his fight, close the game then wait for at least a week (or set the console calendar to a week), then load the save afterward. The End will immediately died by old age.
Boss shortcuts are my favorite type of boss anynlasis!

12:55 Reminds me of the headgear you get in Punch Out Wii for losing 100 times. Still, it's associated with Glass Joe and thus automatically makes you feel ridiculed even if no one else reacts to it.

In Mega Man 7 if you've got the Noise Crush Turbo Man probably isn't going to be much of a challenge anyway, but if you fire a shot of it through the door to his room just as you're entering it can actually destroy him in a single shot. Having the boss' life meter fill up only after they do their intro pose is a series tradition so I've been trying to find other ways to hit Robot Masters before the fight begins, as the slightest hit will kill them when their health hasn't filled up yet.
In Megaman 2, if you use air shooter on Crash Man, you can kill him in 1 shot as well, although you need to get pretty close for it to work.
is actually possible to do the same thing with tengu man on megaman & bass you need to use like a very specific weapon on a position for like 2 frames but if you do it right you can skip the entire tengu man fight is very used on tas runs.

Max in SoR2 was overall an extremely broken character, he got even a grab that can instakill most enemies or at least reduce their HP by a lot.

And of course, Slappy reminds me of my interpretation of Blast Man. Always grinning and laughing psychotically and never speaking below a crazed shout. Interestingly, Dead Rising is brought to us by the very same Capcom that brought us Mega Man and his many spinoffs and variants, which explains why a Servbot head, X's helmet and Buster, Proto Man's shield and Buster, and a mech suit that looks like Zero appear in the franchise.

If you want to a "part 2" here my suggestions:
Blazeon: Is easy to defeat the final boss with Grain Beat (Nu-Gundam-like mecha)
Arrow Flash, if you hold your Arrow Flash until the Final Boss, is possible to defeat near him only using the Arrow Flash attack near their head in Robot Mode
And the last, the LEGENDARY Grappling Beam when Drygon hold you in Super Metroid
he already did the metroid one in an older video, said boss is even the one on the tumbsnail
My nomination for a boss shortcut is Elusive from Dragon Quest 9. He's normally a very vicious Spellcaster boss who can decimate you with spells. Unfortunately, the Bounce spell and Magic Mirror skill can only turn those spells back against him, making him effectively damage himself twice on the same turn! He can't even reverse it with the demonic Distruptive Wave spell, meaning that a single magic mirror user with forbearance can flatten him easily.

hey i have a idea of a boss analysis theme which is bosses that becomes enemies, an example is the troll mother on castle crashers, it reapears at some point as a normal enemy

Do one of bosses that are only difficult because they bring a bunch of enemies with them, or can summon them whenever they feel like it.
Here's an idea: Do a boss analysis of all the Dynamite Heady bosses.

Boss Shortcuts? The multihit moves of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red and Blue such as Bullet Seed would definitely qualify as they help you easily beat bosses.
Man, Super R-Type? Used to play it all the time back when I had a SNES. Never was very good at it though, lol.

I remember the chainsaw guy in Splatterhouse 2 and I came up with the same solution when I was a kid. Interesting that games back then had often such strategies to beat levels. Nowadays there is less such creativity or freedom in games in general.
