Repairing severe creek erosion by building a concrete block retaining wall.
I used a Cat 309 Excavator to place the blocks.
Rain! In my area it would be an act of GOD to Get A Permit to Devert a Creek ! LOL

Ignorant know it all - know nothing econazi leftist have hijacked that state! You know creeks never naturally change course or get dirt in them from heavy rain, land slides or snow melt run off!
The key terms are "restore" and "repair"... altering the flow could be a huge fine, but cleaning out the gravel deposits and restoring it to the original path is perfectly fine. He just has to keep using the magic words while he works.

A flat and compacted base of 3/4" clear crushed stone under those ecology blocks would help in the case that the creek floods at any point. I would think that the clay and the shear weight of the blocks should negate needing drainage behind it though. Just a thought. Great channel, I've been binge watching it today as I recover from being sick. Stay safe and have fun man.

The rain has been messing with my jobs a lot so far this year. Knocking out a stump job in the morning while the ground dries out. Should be a sunny day here in the SC upstate. Loving how this job is coming together Todd! Like others said, you sure make it look easy!

A guy in my neighborhood just had his driveway re-configured and used a boat load of those blocks for a retaining wall. The blocks towards the top were stamped on the outside. And some pre-poured caps were used to top it all off. Some of the blocks were even 90 degreed ones for the ends/corners.

I’m impressed with how fast and smooth the hydraulics are on the excavator. It makes my old Komatsu 75 look like a snail lol but it beats digging by hand

Your lucky you were able to do that. Here in WA State we would have had to pull permits from the Dept of Ecology, Fish and Game and several different tribes. We also would have to have tribal observers on hand watching us, install silt fences and use only approved rock and back fill materials. Got to love the environmentalists 🙄
