Thanks for the vid, I knocked a flare loose and this is exactly what I needed. Running 33"s with no lift and fully flexed the rear tire came up and bit my rear flare. No one to blame but myself! Thanks again.
This Spring, I am mounting 33's but I am going to put a 2.5 Teraflex suspension lift on it. I am just scraping the money together right now. Thanks for the kind words.

I was for some stupid reason standing on mine to reach a Kayak strap and it broke off. Plan to reattach it today now that I have the clips.

Thank you so much for creating this video. To make a long story short, A few months ago a deer ran into the side of my jeep and broke two of the plastic clips holding my fender together... I replaced the clips but little did I know that the remaining clips were broken as well. Fast forward to a few days ago, I was on the freeway and my rear rent fender flare fell off, along with my liner. I refused to get this taken care of at the dealership since they would charge me an arm and a leg, so I purchased the fender flare, and watching your video definitely taught me what to do and what tools and pieces I will need to completely fix it myself. I will let you know how it turns out after I order another fender liner. Thanks for the video!

Hey big thanks, I just had my Yellow Jeep Wrangler painted a cool deep deep purple, I took everything off to save money at paint shop, broke 20 clips removing, so now I am ready to re install today, very helpful, yes I ordered the clips on line, am in Canada was only place I could find, jeep wanted 64 bucks for package of 8, speaking rectangle clips, Amazondotca had bag of 25 , well with shipping was 20 bucks
Thanks so much for the video and the links to get the parts on Amazon. I had to take my fender off (which is easy) but it doesn't want to go back on, especially with the clips that broke when it came off. Amazon Prime, and it'll be back on this weekend. Awesome!

Press the "Christmas Tree" plugs in using a short screwdriver handle as a pushing tool, or use a deep-well socket of the correct size and tap on that with a tack hammer. Usually the last ones stick because of a slight misalignment between the plastic hole and the steel one, so shoving the plastic liner around some will usually help with this, too.

Can you tell me if any adjustments were made to the rivet tool before using with these nylon/plastic rivets you refer to in your video, because I wrote down everything verbatim and the tool right out of the box does not seem to be the fit for this size rivet. Help please.

I was unable to push my flare back in. No matter how hard I pushed, they would not seat.

Is there a trick to getting the clips on the flare to fully engage through the body? When I tried, a few (more than half) would not penetrate through the hole in the body to fully engage. Seems the lip on the flare is not stiff enough to force the clip into the hole.
This is what I'm fighting with right now. ALL of my new clips will not penetrate

Great video, thank-you. I actually prefer not to fake the video cause it shows the level of difficulty, as opposed to Hollywood. Tell your son to expect that life is usually more difficult than what you see on TV or TH-cam....it's a good life lesson. Cheers.
Good of you to make a video. I had a hard time getting a real handle on the three different fasteners I needed. After a bit of research I found everything at clipsandfasteners.com. Super easy and I was able to use the extras for misc around the JK.

Now all You need too do is hit something with one of the Fronts and follow up on installing the Front Flair, then Your Tutorial would be complete! Just being a smart ass... Great Video! ;)
So the clips for the liner are no good after you've removed them? I dented my fender flare so I removed it and took the liner off to fix the dent. Now to get those clips back in there is next to impopsicle
ThePols87 They may or may not work, but the odds are you should replace them. They are cheap and that way you know they will hold.
Wildernessways thank you for replying I really appreciate it. Is your riveter for plastic rivets specifically? I can only seem to find riveters for steel or aluminum around here.

The riveter is for any type of rivet. It is just the size that matters, you need to make sure that the riveter will accommodate the size rivet you will be using, most standard rivet guns are too small.
Wildernessways 10-4. I just wasn't sure if the riveter would have too much force for a plastic rivet. Thanks again!

my rivet gun is the same as yours but my keeps braking them.
+David Alvarado Perhaps you are not using it correctly, or your rivet tool is defective. I did not have any problems with mine.

Not this specific one, but you do need a rivet gun capable of taking 1/4 inch rivets.

You never explain or show the "tool" for getting the clips out. I think I see but had to play over and over again.
Lmao, you didnt have to order the plastic clips, napa, autozone, and oriellys all have them in stock in the dorman help section.
