the WildC.A.T.S are amazing and so underated they needed more love and recognition as another team of superheroes that deserves an live-action film adaptation within the snyderverse with James Wan as director Jodie Comer as Void Valentina Zenere as Sheba Boyd Holbrook as Grifter Vincent Cassel as Helspont William Shewfelt as Warblade Amy Johnston as Zealot Sam Heughan as Spartan
The WildC.A.T.s will always be my favorite team to come out of the original Image Comics! I hope now that we are getting an old Wildstorm property up on the big screen with The Authority movie that it will lead to something with the WildC.A.T.s eventually.
Image Comics were nice when they debutted, you followed your favorite artist from Marvel to Image.Image comics already had an instant fan base and you got to buy their comics from the ground floor up,starting with issues one.The creators/owners were like rock-stars the first few years of their company opening.Rob said in an interview they walked around conventions with $ 10,000 dollars cash in their pockets and six figure checks also.
Warren Ellis's WildStorm/ Wild C.A.T's comics were my first intro into these guys. I'd also mention The Planetary series by the same writer. The work Ellis did on WildCATS was exceptional! The TV series was toned down a good deal for the kiddies, though. I'll have to go back through my comics to check the differences. I shoulda known you guys would cover this, great work.
I can’t believe that there’s already live series adaption of The boys, watchmen, and umbrella academy but not Wildcats. Wildcats sold so much books than those comic books.
Those were all great. The problem after those great artists and writers broke off from DC and Marvel was that the great comic bust came soon after they all launched. I still remember the few local stores I could buy comics from getting rid of the shelves the mags and comics inventory was sold from.
The Wildcats were big for a little while back in those 90’s..One thing about most Image comics.I remember reading a lot of them in like 3 minutes because there were so many splash pages in them. They we’re always heavy on art
The original Wild C.A.T.S comics in the 90's was so cool. It's my favorite superhero team of all times. Gen 13, Backlash and Stormwatch was very cool as well. Too bad Jim Lee sold Wildstorm to DC as they don't know how to properly use that I.P .
Another recommendation of an obscure superhero show from the 90s is "Ultra-Force" which started out by Malibu Comics only to be later purchased by Marvel.
Yeah,I remember buying the issues drawn by George Perez ( one of my favorite comic artists )then he eventually went back to Marvel to draw the Avengers again.
Dude you got the part about Voodoo being abandoned by her parents when in fact thanks to Maul it was revealed Voodoo was orphaned as a baby when her parents took her sailing when the boat hit a reef and sank and the Coast Guard found her tied to the mast wrapped in a blanket and she went to a dance school sometime later in her life where else somewhere along the way she met Maul and they became friends till the WIldC.A.T.S. came looking for them and awakened they're powers and it is noted that Maul is fiercely protective of Voodoo when Grifter told her she would be left behind and after Voodoo ran out of the room Maul came in telling the others Voodoo had been repeatedly ignored and abandoned throughout her life and that the WildC.A.T.S were all she had left and it was in that episode things changed between Voodoo and Zealot.
I really enjoyed the show I thought it was kind of cool towards the end where Vudu actually gets possessed by a demonite and then she's really OP and then she depossesses herself which I thought was very interesting.
At 11:33 Zelot jumps off the bike on the bridge as she zooms into focus I have this frame of animation along with a few more Wildcats animation frames and key art
You can't compare the cartoon to the comic. The cartoon had to be PG-friendly, as opposed to the comic. Considering all of the creators/owners of Image were former Marvel artists who wanted to own their characters, you'll find a lot of similarities to Marvel characters. But the comics were great!
A comic renaissance of 1991 after the end of the Cold War. Wildcats didn’t fall into the moralizations of Marvel or DC comics but the characters were bold as a battlefield. Alan Moore redefined this series as he did The Watchmen but its denouement lead the series into irrelevance and corporate bureaucracy of hero industry.
I liked the animated WildC.A.T.s cartoon, & thought it should've gotten more seasons, but the comics were infinitely better. X-Men TAS did everything better, years before the WildC.A.T.s cartoon was even a thing.
What do you mean "way back in the day", bro? It was only 1992, lol. Btw, Hadrian [Spartan] doesn't only have the power to shot conclusive blasts from his hands, dude's vast superhuman strength, lifting 90-100 tons
The wildcats were good, unfortunately, their production company was cheap and had mid-writers. Yet in the '90s your budget wasn't increased unless your toy sales did good. In which wildcats merch was not moving fast enough, unlike Xmen. Maybe WB and DC can pick them back up as they did for Young Justice. Wish thinking I suppose. 🤔
Grifter was a satire of Deadpool of Marvel who was a satire of Deathstroke the Terminator of DC comics who was a hodgepodge ripoff of Captain America and “Snake” Plisskin.
Grifter's "superhero name" was really stupid. I mean, sure, as a human he did con-jobs. But when, exactly, did he grift in a serious way as that masked "Grifter" persona? Yeah... stupid masked persona name... worked for people who don't know what a grifter is. As that masked guy, he was pretty much a gunslinger version of the most popular webslinger at the time... Spider-Man... only he was outlaw cowboy while Spider-Man was a snarky teen... both cracked jokes as the main core of their character. Deadpool wasn't really a thing at the time... yet.
WildCATS was shiddy as a comic and cartoon. The story writing was terrible in both genres. Everything was rushed and nonsensical, even for a comic. Something that was rampant throughout Image.
You do know this medium isn't just enjoyed by white boy incels? Quit gatekeeping. There is always some asshole in the comment section bringing this crap up. I bet you're one of those people that say "I wish they would quit bringing up race or gender" but here you are, bringing up race and gender.
@@dominicrigsby8547 thanks for pointing that out White Knight! Without you, the unenlightened people like me would continue to live life happily. You and your folks ruined comics but glad to see you here throwing your support for people that don’t bother to read comics. Lol
No one gives a F**k, (and I happen to be Hispanic, who loves America). Enough with demanding to be acknowledged for something other than the capacity to bleed Red. Just be a human, and don't trust AI, lol.
The purple guy is a Titan a witch hired by lady death changed his appearance to a weak human on earth when he "the last of the titans" and thanos went at it after finding each other.
the WildC.A.T.S are amazing and so underated they needed more love and recognition as another team of superheroes that deserves an live-action film adaptation within the snyderverse with James Wan as director
Jodie Comer as Void
Valentina Zenere as Sheba
Boyd Holbrook as Grifter
Vincent Cassel as Helspont
William Shewfelt as Warblade
Amy Johnston as Zealot
Sam Heughan as Spartan
A later addition to the comic were Midnighter and Apollo, I think. Under Ellis as writer, the story got very... complex!
@@JohnTLyonMidnighter and Apollo were in Stormwatch and then in the Authority. Cool characters overall.
The WildC.A.T.s will always be my favorite team to come out of the original Image Comics!

I loved the Wildcats
Wildcats for life!!!
I cant get enough of this team.
Wow incredible team.
I got Wildcats tattoo on my face.!
😂😂😂❤
Wildcats is cool. Very well thought out with cool back stories.
Loved the short-lived animated series, wished more could've been introduced
I still have Wildcats #1 signed by Jim Lee.
Mint condition

How does this channel still have less than a mil subs? They provide the best
I'm still holding out for a TEAM 7 movie
I can’t believe that there’s already live series adaption of The boys, watchmen, and umbrella academy but not Wildcats. Wildcats sold so much books than those comic books.
Started to read them a few months ago. Defenetly underrated.
Does this mean we're gonna get a video on "Prime"? Idk hardly anyone who even knows that other comic companies exist.
Prime is extremely underrated and forgotten by the masses
I was a big fan of Pime to. Do you remember X.O man of war?😅Malibu. Darkhorse. Image. Variant. All good comics.
Those were all great. The problem after those great artists and writers broke off from DC and Marvel was that the great comic bust came soon after they all launched. I still remember the few local stores I could buy comics from getting rid of the shelves the mags and comics inventory was sold from.
It's not that they don't know the others exist, it's just that the big 2 get all the clicks and likes
I loved Prime and I thought Ultraforce was awesome.
A wild cats live action show would be great
The Wildcats were big for a little while back in those 90’s..One thing about most Image comics.I remember reading a lot of them in like 3 minutes because there were so many splash pages in them. They we’re always heavy on art
Image Comics ROCKED I love most of there Books I have all the # 1s
One of my favorite comics supergroups
Shame the animated series was so brief it was actually very well done
The original Wild C.A.T.S comics in the 90's was so cool. It's my favorite superhero team of all times. Gen 13, Backlash and Stormwatch was very cool as well. Too bad Jim Lee sold Wildstorm to DC as they don't know how to properly use that I.P .
Hey…wasn’t Grifter in the Flashpoint movie?
Yea, I thought he was just red hood
Live action movie please and thank you for the video zealot my favorite character and best series in image of all time.
I always thought it was X-Men adjacent. Spartan is kinda Cyclops Grifter is kinda Wolverine etc etc its different enough but I get X Men vibes.
Let’s roar wildcats

Yeah,I remember buying the issues drawn by George Perez ( one of my favorite comic artists )then he eventually went back to Marvel to draw the Avengers again.
Cool
I loved wildcats back in the day.
Damn I had the game. Wow.
thanks for the video
I still have the Wildcats vs X-Men Hq

Please do a video on ultraforce
Please do The Bots Master next
I really enjoyed Image, and also MALIBU comics' Ultraverse.... King Features also had Flash Gordon and Phantom, Mandrake and Lothar, etc....
*THEY'RE HEROES, NOT ZEROS*
Love the videos but what is up with the audio
Thus character analysis is long overdue.
I would like to see a movie based on this comic
Hi
At 11:33 Zelot jumps off the bike on the bridge as she zooms into focus I have this frame of animation along with a few more Wildcats animation frames and key art
Visually they really are just 90s X-Men lineup with a bruiser
yes
i don't have popcorn or tacos but i have cookies😆

Liked the info but should have made it like three episodes
Please do marvel top ten agent venom villains
How could you forget backlash and nemesis I mean they were two of the newest cats but their back stories an impact are awsome
Gaurdians of the galaxycats
I want him in the dcu this is so cool team
My sons name is Cole for Grifter. I told my wife when he was six.

You left out zealots relashionship with deathstroke
I completely forgot about them 😭😭
I would rather see a wildcats movie than a authority movie
guys can you talk about Exodus flom x-men?
To bad Jim Lee didn’t have a great writer for the entire series and brought it to DC😢
Hell no. 90s X-Men was way better
than Wildcats cartoon
Original team was great. Didn't care for later members
she voodoo was more pure in the show and is a jubilee/jean grey prototype
It was great until right before the whole Agent Orange, Cyborg reject Emo girl. I miss Wildcats core team
Ultra force?
Join the cult of bo to join just say i join

Welcome
i never cared wildcats in the comics to tell you the truth.

Grifter my boi 🗿🗿

Grifter!!! Voodoo ❤ loved the wildcats comic books and also youngblood n backlash...
wildcats was too much like xmen but they had potential in the cartoon not all the origins of
the comics book characters add up
Isn't anyone else curious to find out if they can procreate..?😆
Look, the cartoon was good, but the voice acting g was just Godawful😅😅😅
Jesus is the only lord 🙏

Some of these character arcs are just stupidity in it's purest form. The image run was much better than the DC run
Bradley cooper for live action grifter

WildCATS was shiddy as a comic and cartoon. The story writing was terrible in both genres. Everything was rushed and nonsensical, even for a comic. Something that was rampant throughout Image.
The writing was fine in the beginning, but went quite awry after a few years.
I need to get rid of these cheap comics. I've owned them since the early 90s.
Most overrated trash superhero team! All time worst!
Not enough black, Asian, Hispanic or LGBTQ+ characters.
You do know this medium isn't just enjoyed by white boy incels? Quit gatekeeping. There is always some asshole in the comment section bringing this crap up. I bet you're one of those people that say "I wish they would quit bringing up race or gender" but here you are, bringing up race and gender.

Lol Who cares ? But in the comic book, Voodoo is half black actually.
No one gives a F**k, (and I happen to be Hispanic, who loves America). Enough with demanding to be acknowledged for something other than the capacity to bleed Red. Just be a human, and don't trust AI, lol.
Cover it!!

Cartoon was trash.. So was the Xmen
So, wildcats vs avengers. Who would win?
